SCHOOL NEWS
Welcome back to Term 2. I hope that you had an enjoyable holiday and Easter. We are looking forward
to a fantastic Term 2 and there is much to look forward to. At the end of last term the Girls team
represented the school at the Glory Cup qualifying rounds. They played very well, were runners up on
the day and were undefeated. We had a great game against Oberthur PS (coached by the dastardly
Mr Wheatley) that ended in a draw and have qualified for the State Quarter finals to be held next Friday
1 May. They were great sports and played with a lot of heart. The finals will be a step up in the
competition but the girls will represent Leeming PS proudly. Our game is at 4:30 at Beale Park in
Spearwood if you want to come and support the team.
The Open (boys) qualifying will be held on 31 July and we will start training in the next couple of weeks.
We had a brief assembly on Tuesday to welcome the students back. It was great to see almost 100% of
the students in their school uniforms. Thanks everyone for supporting the school and making the children
look great. Cool weather is just around the corner. It might be a good time to check if you can find a
school jumper.
Next Tuesday at 9:00am we will be holding our ANZAC service. It is an important part of any year but
more so this year. The teachers have been working with the students on the reasons why this is such a
big day for all. I hope you will be able to join our service.

LEEMING SHS EDUCATION SUPPORT CENTRE
2015 INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR PARENTS
TERM 2 2015
An information session will be presented on Tuesday 5 May 2015 from 8:30am – 10.30am
Keran Davies (Principal) will discuss what Leeming SHS ESC can offer your child in
terms of academic, life skills and employment programs. The enrolment process and
transition information will be provided.
Annette Harmon (School Psychologist) will provide a short presentation on developing
resiliency – practical strategies which can be implemented by parents.
A tour of the school will follow.

Leeming Family and Community Centre
My name is Mish and I am the coordinator of Leeming Family and
Community Centre, Located on the Corner of Aulberry Pde and Farrington
Street, Leeming. Leeming FCC is a non-for-profit community based service
that runs a number of community programs, events and sessions for all
members of the community.

Relationships Australia WA
All About Anger- working with Parents and Teenagers. Thursday 14th May, time
6.30-9. Cost $35 per family.
This interactive workshop has been designed to support families where anger is an issue. Anger is
explained in a way that challenges our labelling of “an ANGRY person” and instead helps us to
understand that many of us have simply learnt to react to the emotion of anger in unhelpful ways. For

Anger Management for Teen Boys - 16 to 18 years of age. Saturday 16th May, time
9.30-4.30. Cost $50 per person.
Many men completing our Anger Management course tell us how much healthier and happier their lives
would have been had they completed the course as teenagers. Now is an opportunity to learn skills for
dealing with anger in an open, interactive one day workshop that will support you throughout the years
that lie ahead. It will help you manage stress and help you in building positive relationships in all areas of

STRIKER LEEMING – INDOOR SPORTS & FITNESS – 55 Farrington Road, Leeming
Will be running an 8 a side infoor cricket competition. Provided for both boys and girls aged 616 years old with games where kids can learn the skills and thrills of Indoor Cricket.
