Offering world class ski resorts in Europe is hugely important to
us, but at Neilson it’s also the people that make the difference.
There’s an amazing team at your disposal who aren’t just experts,

If you’re looking for an inclusive winter holiday experience then
look no further than our fantastic range of hotels and chalets;
The Neilson Mountain Collection. Run and managed by our
expert team, you’re guaranteed a warm welcome and friendly
service, both on and off the mountain.
WHAT IS THE MOUNTAIN
COLLECTION?
We’ve created a brand new and unique
holiday experience by combining our high
levels of customer service, diverse properties
and on-mountain expertise. Most companies
see their guests leave for the lifts in the
morning and don’t see them for the rest of
the day. With a Neilson Mountain Collection
holiday, our expertise joins you on the
mountain (if you want it to) as we help guide
and coach you around your resort with fully
qualified ski & board instructors (see p12-13
for details). At the end of the day, head
back to your hotel or chalet for tempting
afternoon teas, relaxed après, gorgeous
evening meals and of course, friendly Neilson
hospitality. And the best bit is that this is all
included in the price of your holiday.
NEILSON HOTELS
Our Mountain Collection hotels are located
in some of the best ski areas in Europe.
Being staffed by our very own team, you’ll
find friendly and knowledgeable hosts,
chefs who can rustle up quite a feast and
hospitality staff who’ll provide great service
and a welcoming atmosphere. In short,
undeniable Neilson hospitality. Each property
is in a convenient location for an all-round ski
experience, plus they have their own bar so
you can swap your day’s stories.

NEILSON CHALETS
Your ski chalet is essentially your homeaway-from-home while you’re on your winter
adventure. It’s a place where you can enjoy a
hearty breakfast prepared by your very own
Neilson host, and a place you’ll love returning
to for a warm welcome and delicious
afternoon tea with freshly baked treats.
Each chalet is unique, but all offer the same
outstanding level of service and hospitality.
GREAT FOOD TO FUEL YOUR DAY
Our team of chalet hosts and hotel chefs
create regional dishes using local flavours,
perfect for fuelling your day on the slopes.
The price of your holiday includes a daily
breakfast with hot options, freshly prepared
afternoon tea and four-course evening
meals on 6 nights a week to satisfy even the
biggest appetites. Chalet guests also receive
free-flowing wine with each evening’s meal.
On the non-inclusive night, hotel guests can
head into resort or eat from the hotel’s bistro
menu. Guests can take advantage of their
hosts’ local knowledge and book a table at
a local restaurant. See our Neilson Mountain
Collection Finder on pages 14-17 for more
details on our range of Neilson hotels
and chalets.
GEARED UP FOR FAMILIES
Parents deserve a break too, which is why
our Neilson Hotels Aalborg and Del Clos
are particularly suitable for families as their
on-site children’s clubs and evening childcare
cater for kids aged 4 months right up to 12
years old. There’s also a pick-up and drop-off
service to take little ones from other Neilsonrun properties in the resort to our clubs or
even a private nanny service. See pages 18 &
19 for full details on Neilson-run childcare.

MOUNTAIN
EXPERTS
NEW THIS
WINTER
“Having free guiding and
coaching on ski holidays
is new, unique and bound
to be a hit”
Pete Tyler - Neilson Director
We’re proud to have pioneered ‘ski leading’ back in the 70’s and
now we’re just as proud to launch the Neilson Mountain Experts
service. Available exclusively to our Mountain Collection guests,
we’re introducing the inclusive guiding and coaching elements of
our award-winning Beachclub holidays to the snow. Led by fully
qualified instructors and accompanied by our own team, the Neilson
Mountain Experts service helps you get the most from your holiday.
WHO ARE THE NEILSON
MOUNTAIN EXPERTS?
The Mountain Experts are a team made up
of qualified instructors from our favourite
ski & board school partners and your very
own Neilson hosts. Your qualified instructor
will guide you for free around the slopes of
your chosen resort and even offer coaching
tips along the way (if you want them). Your
Neilson host is there to ensure that you’re
well looked after, answer any questions and
make sure you know where to stop for the
best hot chocolates!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This free service, for those who wish to
come along, sees different sessions of
guiding, coaching or a mix of the two, run
for like-minded, confident blue or red-run
skiers or boarders. This isn’t structured like
group ski school but a relaxed and informal
way to get your winter legs back, make
the most of the mountain and improve
your technique at the same time. We aim
to ensure that everybody gets a couple
of sessions per week, but more may be
available depending on numbers.
FREE COACHING SESSIONS
There will also be a series of free coaching
sessions designed to help you improve your
technique and become an all round better skier
or boarder. Sessions include Parallel Perfection,
which is designed to help you improve on
your turns, and Carve it up which focuses on
your carving technique, plus much more.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
It’s all included in the price of your holiday
and there’s no need to pre-book your
sessions either, simply sign up for the guiding
or coaching sessions on the first morning of
your holiday.
WHERE CAN I DO IT?
If you’re staying in a Mountain Collection
property, you can sign up for Mountain
Expert sessions. Have a look at our Mountain
Collection range on pages 14-17 or visit
neilson.co.uk/mountaincollection
To see a guide session planner, visit

FREE SKI & BOARD
GUIDING SESSIONS
Guiding sessions are split by blue, red and
black ability levels, and during high season,
include family guiding sessions where kids
from 12 can join in too. These are a really fun
way to get to know the area at the start of
your holiday rather than finding the best
runs at the end.

free collection and drop-off service for
children booked in to our kids’ clubs. From
our clubs, our nannies will make sure your
kids are dressed and have everything they
need for ski school, escorting each child to
the meeting place and ensuring they are
happy and settled.
Stay in one of our Neilson chalets and take
advantage of our bespoke, private nanny
service, available up to 8 hours per day (one
or two sessions, 8am-11pm), 6 days per week.
Your nanny will bring all the necessary, ageappropriate kit, and provide outdoor and
indoor adventures, lunch and a ski school
pick-up/drop-off service. Call us for prices
and more details.
Our nannies keep the liveliest of toddlers
amused with games, music, messy play,
cookery lessons, snowy treasure hunts and
sledging, organised around their usual meal
and nap times.
RELAX, THEY’RE IN SAFE HANDS
Our friendly Neilson nannies have bags of
energy and lots of experience keeping kids
happy and cared for. When looking after
our youngest guests, they are experienced
to at least Level 3 in Early Years childcare.
Each nanny is assigned at most two babies
(4-23 months), four toddlers (2-4 years) or
eight children (5-12 years). Detailed care is
important to children and parents
so we assign them a key carer to build
rapport with.
“Our team of Neilson
nannies are hand-picked for
their enthusiasm, energy and
caring nature – expect your child
to have more fun than you!”
Amy, Neilson Childcare Supervisor

Ski & snowboard carriage - Ski & snowboard
carriage - Carriage of skis and snowboards
is strictly limited on flights and subject to
availability as space cannot be guaranteed. The
cost to pre-purchase equipment carriage at the
time of booking will vary by carrier. If you chose
to book at the airport, the cost is likely to be
higher (subject to availability as space cannot be
guaranteed). Dimensions & maximum weights
also vary from airline to airline and should be
checked with us prior to booking.
182
Passengers who pre-book carriage of their skis
and snowboards are guaranteed that in the
event they are off loaded (due to aircraft weight
restrictions), the booking fee will be refunded
and the skis/snowboard will be forwarded to
your resort at no extra cost. Should this not be
practical, quality skis/snowboard will be provided
by us in resort for the intervening period (one
set per fee paid). For this reason, we do not
recommend that you use a large ski/snowboard
bag or hard case to carry both your equipment
and clothing together as we do not replace
clothing. You are responsible for the airport
storage and costs of any equipment refused
passage due to failure to pre-book aircraft space
for your skis or snowboard. We recommend
that all your sporting equipment be insured
separately, since more valuable or fragile items
may not be covered by your insurance.
Financial protection - All the flight inclusive
holidays in this brochure are financially protected
by the ATOL scheme. The price of your holiday
includes the amount of £2.50 per person as part
of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we
pay to the CAA. Our ATOL number is 10794.
You will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate,
please check to ensure that everything you
booked (flights, hotels and other services) are
listed on the certificate. Please see our booking
conditions for further information or for more
information on financial protection and the ATOL
certificate go to www.caa.co.uk/ATOLcertificate
ABTA - The Travel Association - Neilson
Active Holidays Ltd is a member of ABTA with
membership number Y6127. ABTA and ABTA
members help holidaymakers to get the most
from their travel and assist them when things
do not go according to plan. We are obliged to
maintain a high standard of service to you by
ABTA’s Code of Conduct. For further information
about ABTA, the Code of Conduct and the
arbitration scheme available to you if you have
a complaint, contact ABTA, 30 Park Street,

their website: www.abta.com
Pricing Information
A guide to pricing your holiday - Our brochure
is intended to provide a quick and easy way for
you to compare holiday prices. We display an
accurate indication of our basic lead in prices for
low, mid and high seasons with the dates that
apply to those seasons. For our up to the minute
prices, use the quick link to our website printed
in the property price panel (e.g neilson.co.uk/
ELT1), ask your travel agent or call us directly.
Neilson price match - We aim to offer some
of the best available prices for charter flight
ski holidays in the UK. If you find your identical
holiday cheaper than you can book with us, then
we’ll look to match it. The booking must be for
a minimum of two full-fare paying passengers
on an identical and bookable holiday featured
in any other Tour Operator’s brochure available
at your ABTA travel agent (with the exception
of special offer brochures). The comparable
holidays must have the same departure date and
airport and the same accommodation (including
room type and board basis). Flight timings must
be directly comparable and departing no more
than 2 hours before or after our flight. Holiday
price comparisons will be between the total cost
for the entire travelling party including flight
and accommodation supplements, but excluding
insurance premiums. We will consider all Price
Match requests received but are under no
obligation to reduce the Neilson holiday price.
Holidays including scheduled flights, special
offers, late availability prices, travel agents’ offers
and group booking discounts are excluded.
All ‘Price Match’ holiday requests must be
supported by proof of availability at the claimed
price at the time of booking.
Under occupancy supplements - Prices are
usually based on at least two adults sharing
the accommodation. If fewer adults share the
accommodation supplements will have to be
paid. These under occupancy supplements are
payable per person per night (unless stated
otherwise) and may vary depending on date of
travel. Infants and children do not count towards
occupancy levels in most accommodations.
Rooms for the single traveller are available at
most properties on request. Contact us for
further information and supplements where
applicable (see also ‘Single Supplements’ in the
accommodation section for more details).
Single supplements - If a single person occupies
a room with more than one bed, they will usually
be asked to pay a supplement. Hotels often price
their rooms as twins/doubles and generally do
not reduce their rates if a single person occupies
them. The cost to the hotel of providing the
room is the same regardless of how many
people occupy that room. Single rooms may
have different facilities to standard rooms.
Single rooms are often smaller, may not have
a balcony and may not be of the same general
standard as normal twins. While there is normally
a supplement for these rooms the overall cost
will usually be less than when a single person
occupies a double room.
Group booking conditions - These conditions
are in addition to the Booking Conditions shown
on page 188-193. All group bookings are subject
to availability, which includes respecting the
right of hoteliers to decline single-sex groups or
groups above a certain size.
1.All group offers are subject to availability and
the number of group offers per departure
may be limited or withdrawn without prior
notice. Group offers may be limited to
selected properties/ apartments in our
brochure. Please ask for details.
2.Children do count towards group bookings.
Two children count as one adult in regard to
free group places/discounts.
3. Free places/discounts cover the basic
holiday price current at the time of booking.
Supplements for meals, under occupancy,
room facilities and insurance are excluded.
4. The group must book exactly the same
holiday at the same time. We may allow large
groups to travel from different airports on
application, in which case the free place/
discounts may differ by flight.
5. Groups travelling for any duration other than
7 nights are on request.
6. Free places/discounts will be calculated
on the final number of full paying adults
travelling. Cancellation of group numbers
may result in the loss of free places/
group discount.
7. Free places/discounts for groups above 20
will be on request. Splitting large groups into
smaller ones is not permitted.
8. Group offers apply to package holidays
including flights.
9. All passengers must pay the deposit. A group
option can be held on brochured holidays for
7 days while deposits are collected, however
this is dependent on availability and how far
in advance you book.
10. All passengers’ names must be supplied 10
weeks before departure or at the time of
booking (with deposits). Subsequent name
changes will incur an amendment fee. When
supplying passengers’ names, you must at
the same time also confirm your rooming
list - by this we mean who is to share a
room with whom. If you fail to do so, we
will allocate rooms and cannot accept any
liability if these arrangements do not meet
with your approval.
11. Names may be required immediately at
time of booking on some departure dates
or destinations.
12. Group offers may not be combined with any
other discounts or offers.
13.Any person who acts as the leader of a group
(whether or not they travel on the holiday),
shall be the ‘lead name’ with all the usual
responsibilities associated with that role as
set out in our booking conditions. In addition,
the group leader shall be responsible for
confirming all travelling passenger details
to either the Travel Agent (when booking
through an ABTA member agent) or directly
to our Reservations department. They will
be responsible for paying all sums that are
payable in respect of the booking as a whole
(including any amendment/cancellation
charges), and for passing on accurately and
in full to travelling passengers any and all
information issued by the Travel Agent or
us, including, but not limited to, passing on
copies of our confirmation invoices and a
copy of our booking conditions.
14.Low deposit for groups - reduced holiday
deposits may be available for European
charter flight based holidays only for a limited
time after which a higher deposit amount will
apply which will be advised to you at the time
of booking.
Child price conditions - These conditions are in
addition to the Booking Conditions shown on
pages 188-193.
1. Children paying a child price must share
accommodation with at least two full-fare
paying adults paying full brochure price. In
some cases larger room types may require
additional people to pay full adult price to be
eligible for a child price. For example, some
family rooms sleeping 6, may require up to 4
people to pay adult prices to be eligible for a
child price.
2. Child discounts apply for children up to and
including 11 years of age, unless otherwise
stated in the hotel description and apply
to the basic adult price.
3. Third and subsequent children pay the
adult price.
4. Children count towards apartment
occupancy levels.
5. Infants under two years of age on the day
of return pay £49 (subject to change & will
be confirmed at the time of booking.) These
charges are for an infant sitting on an adults lap.
6. The full adult deposit must be paid for all
children except infants.
7. Child ages you provide must be applicable to
the relevant date of return. If a child is
subsequently older on the date of return than
originally specified at the time of booking, this

Travel Information
Flight details - Flight timings shown are based
on the 24-hour clock system. These timings,
however, are provisional only and will be
submitted for approval by the UK and overseas
scheduling committees, and are therefore given
for guidance only and are subject to alteration
and confirmation. Our reservation system will
show the latest timings for your flight. The right
is reserved to substitute alternative airlines
and/or aircraft at any time. All bookings are
subject to the grant of licenses by the Civil
Aviation Authority.
Airline (operating carrier) information - In
accordance with EU Regulations we are required
to advise you of the operating carrier(s) (or, if
the operating carrier(s) is not known, the likely
carrier(s)) that will operate your flight(s) at the
time of booking. Where we are only able to
inform you of the likely carrier(s) at the time of
booking, we will inform you of the identity of the
operating carrier(s) as soon as we become aware
of this. Any change to the operating carrier(s)
after your booking has been confirmed will be
notified to you as soon as possible. Any change
in the identity of the airline, flight timings and/
or aircraft type will not entitle you to cancel or
change to other flight arrangements without
paying our normal charges except where
specified in our conditions.
Flight routing - A direct flight may touch down
en-route for re- fuelling, or to pick up and/or
drop off passengers. In these instances you are
not normally required to disembark and the
flight is still considered to be a direct flight.
A non-direct flight may require a change of
aircraft en-route while a non-stop flight will take
you directly to your final destination airport
without stopping.
Changes to our flight programme - To ensure
we can offer you the best choice of flights at
the most popular times of the year, we may put
additional flights on sale under different flight
codes. We cannot guarantee these additional
flights will not incur higher holiday prices and
details of these prices will be advised on our
website or by your Holiday Advisor. When we
make available stays of beyond 7 nights, an extra
flight charge of up to £399 per person may be
applied to cover the expected loss we may incur
from unsold seats.
Please also note however that the flight
information shown in our brochure may change
after publication.
Occasionally it is necessary to change the airline
used that may mean a flight shown as being
operated by one airline is substituted by another
airline and some services may change and you
will not be entitled to any compensation. If you
have paid a supplement for an upgraded service,
this cost will be refunded.
Your choice of flight - When you check our
latest holiday price with your travel agent or
on the Neilson website, you will be advised of
the basic holiday price including any additional
costs associated with your choice of flight (such
as, the departure point, day and time of flight or
seasonality of flight). By way of a guide, we have
shown the minimum price increase that will apply
to the holiday prices shown depending on your
flight selection - these are listed in the ‘Flight
Information’ section at the back of the brochure.
The flight you choose will influence the price
you pay for your holiday. When you book your
holiday you will be quoted the current Adult/
Child ‘holiday price’ which is the basic price
inclusive of all applicable costs for the flight
you choose. (This is with the exception of
supplements for extra legroom seats or any
other pre-bookable optional services not shown
as being included). Our holiday prices may vary
due to:
1. Where you fly from – our base prices are
usually based on a selected flight from London
Gatwick or Manchester but (depending on
the destination) we can often offer a choice of
flights from these airports and other regional
airports at higher holiday prices.
2. The time of year/seasonality of your holiday –
our prices give an indication of the peak and
off peak travel periods with higher prices at
certain times of the year. Regional variations
in the demand for flights from local airports
on different dates also influence the holiday
price you pay.
Infants (0-24months) - The infant must either
sit on an adults lap or occupy a car seat (infants
must be at least 6 months to occupy a car seat).
If choosing to occupy a car seat, we recommend
you contact the relevant airline for regulations
for the car seat. Customers choosing this option
will need to book a flight seat for the infant. The
price of a seat for an infant will usually be the
adult seat only price. Ask your travel advisor or
call us directly to quote the current seat only
price. It is an airline regulation that children
aged 2 or over must occupy a seat. Children
aged 2 or over on the return flight must pay the
appropriate child price of the holiday.
E-tickets - Tickets will be issued electronically, in
person or via post when you book a holiday or
at least 14 days prior to travel. Please check your
documents carefully as soon as you receive them
as flight details can sometimes change from
those published in the brochure or detailed on
your confirmation invoice.
Check-in - If you fail to check in on time, the
airline is entitled to refuse to allow you to board
the flight. We cannot accept responsibility
if such a situation arises and, whilst we
endeavour to assist in making alternative travel
arrangements to your resort, any cost or loss
incurred as a result will be your responsibility.
If you fail to check in at all for your flight from
the UK, we retain the right to cancel any other
arrangements you have booked with us and
you may be unable to use your return flight to
the UK. No refund can be made for any unused
arrangements. When you arrive at the check-in
desk for your flight, you will be asked for your
ticket, passport and baggage. If travelling in a
group, please make sure all members of your
party are at the desk. Once you have checked
in, you can move through to the departure
lounge where you will find further information,
including your departure gate number.
Important notice: you must check-in at least 1
hour prior to departure, failure to do so could
result in you being denied travel. Remember
no calls will be made for your flight so please
make sure that you are at the departure gate
no later than 45 minutes before your departure
time. Passengers that are refused travel will
be responsible for arranging alternative
transportation at their own expense. Pregnancy - Regulations vary from airline to
airline, but some will refuse to carry women who
will be 28 weeks or more pregnant on the date
of return travel. If you are in doubt, please check
with the airline concerned. We recommend that
you also consult your own doctor. Fitness to fly - You may need permission to
fly from your doctor if you suffer from certain
medical conditions, which may mean you also
require assistance from the airline. Should you
have any concerns about your fitness to fly
please contact the relevant airline directly.
Baggage allowance - Size restrictions may apply
in addition to weight restrictions. Your hold
and hand baggage must not exceed the stated
allowance on your e-ticket. A charge may be
made by the airline if the stated allowance is
exceeded. Hold baggage allowances range from
15kg up to 25kg. Individual items of luggage must
not exceed 32kg for lifting purposes. Full details
of your baggage allowance will be printed
on your e-tickets and is detailed on the travel
information pages of each resort on neilson.co.uk
Smoking - Please note that whatever airline you
fly with, all UK airlines have a strict no-smoking
policy throughout the aircraft.
Seat pitch - We advise that the distance
between the back support cushion of your flight
seat and the back of the seat or other fixed
structure in front of your seat will not be less
than the minimum stated in the UK Civil Aviation
Authority’s Airworthiness Notice No.64, issue 2
of the 29th October 2001 (26 inches).
Catering - Our airline partners offer a ‘buy-onboard’ service with a choice of snacks and drinks
for you to purchase.
Passports and visa requirements - British
Citizen’s holding a 10-year UK passport (5 years
for children), issued in the UK should note that
some overseas countries have an immigration
requirement for a passport to remain valid for a
minimum period after the date of entry to that
country (typically 6 months).
Non-British Citizen passport holders or British
Citizens holding a UK Passport issued abroad
or holders of British Subject Passports should
contact the appropriate consulate or embassy
for advice. Passport and visa regulations can
change so check with your Travel Advisor or the
relevant embassy well in advance of travel.
All passengers must ensure they have valid,
acceptable passports, any required visa,
any other documentation for both the final
destination and any stop-off points en-route.
Ensure advanced passenger information
(API) is submitted in advance of travel for
all destinations. Failure to hold correct
documentation or submitting incorrect details
with advanced passenger information or visa
applications may result in refusal of carriage or
entry to a country. Neither we, nor the airline will
accept liability if this happens. You may be liable
to pay fines, surcharges, other financial penalty,
costs (including the cost of an immediate return
flight) and any other sums of any description,
which are incurred or imposed by the airline or
incurred by us.
Apply early: If you need to apply for a passport
or renew an expired passport, you should do so
well in advance of travel. If you are 16 or over
and have never had a passport in your own
name, you should apply for one in plenty of time
before your holiday. The UK passport service
has to confirm your identity before issuing your
first passport and will ask you to attend an
interview in order to protect your identity. If a
visa is required, don’t leave until the last minute
– allow plenty of time. You may not be able to
travel and insurance may be invalid if the names
on your passport and travel documents don’t
match. If any member of your party changes
their name, we must be notified immediately so
that we can change booking documentation.
For more information on passports, applications
and general enquiries, please contact the
Passport Office. Visit: www.direct.gov.uk/
passports or telephone: 0300 222 0000.
How to find out about visa requirements - The
Foreign and Commonwealth Travel Advice Unit
provides information about visa requirements,
frequently updates advice for those travelling
outside the UK and also provides contact details
for relevant Embassy’s, go to www.gov.uk/
foreign-travel-advice
Advanced Passenger Information (API) - Under
the UK Government ‘e-Borders’ scheme, Tour
Operators and Airlines are required to collect
biographical information contained in the section
of your passport that can be read by machine
(such as name, passport number). We refer to
this as your advance passenger information and
will pass this onto the e- Borders programme
both prior to your departure from a UK Airport
to all overseas destinations and on any journey
to the UK. Airlines are legally required to collect
your advance passenger information – for
details visit the UK Border Agency website:
www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk. You must provide
this information before you travel, check your
E-Ticket for more information, including details of
when your API must be submitted by. Failure to
provide the required data may result in carriage
being denied.
Health precautions - You should take health
advice about your specific needs as early as
possible. Visit the NHS Travel Health website
for useful information: www.nhs.uk/Livewell/
TravelHealth. Other sources of information
include the following websites: www.fco.gov.
uk, www.hpa.org.uk, www.nathnac.org your
GP or a specialist clinic. If you are visiting a
European Union (EU) country you should obtain
a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and
take it with you when you travel. The EHIC
can be obtained free of charge by completing
an application form available from main Post
Offices and from www.dh.gov.uk/travellers.
Please note, the EHIC is in addition to Travel
Insurance, not instead of it.
Helping hand?
If you require assistance at the airport or on
a flight, just make your request at the time
of enquiry.
Holiday extras
Insurance – You must be insured to travel. Visit
www.neilson.co.uk/holiday-extras to find out
more about our bespoke holiday insurance
underwritten by ERV Insurance.
Ski extras - Make sure you pre-book equipment,
lift passes and tuition as we cannot guarantee
availability in resort on peak dates. Once booked
the price will not rise. Pre-bookings can usually
be made up to 2 days before travel for European
destinations. After this you must book items
locally. In this brochure, we feature the most
popular items but there are many more options
available on our website, reservations system
and in resort. The items you pre-book start on
the morning after your arrival day. You will have
to make your own arrangements should you
wish to ski on the day you arrive. The prices
IMPORTANT HOLIDAY INFORMATION
may mean they no longer qualify for a child
price and you will have to pay the full adult
fare, plus any admin fees, before the party can
travel. Please check carefully with your travel
advisor before booking.
Ski & board packs - These packs combine a lift
pass (usually a local pass), equipment (usually
standard) and tuition and offer a saving compared
to booking each item individually. They are only
available to pre-book and are not available for
purchase in resort. Packs cannot be discounted
or combined with other ski pack offers.
Group ski or snowboard tuition - We offer prebookable group ski and snowboard lessons in
almost all our resorts. Lesson days and durations
vary so always check the relevant ski pack panel
for details. In the event of there not being enough
people booked in to tuition classes to create a ski
group, the tuition hours could be reduced.
Children & ski school - Please note that while
many ski schools advertise that they accept
children, it is the ski school instructors’ assessment
of the physical & learning capacity of the
individual child that determines whether they are
able to join for the full duration of the advertised
programme. In the event of there not being
enough children booked in to tuition classes to
create a ski group, childcare would be provided.
Resort activities - Our brochure includes
information on different types of activities,
transport services and excursions or
establishments that you are likely to find in the
local area. We do not own or operate any of
these services and these are mentioned by way
of a guide only. The information, availability and
prices we include in our brochure are subject
to change. If you choose to book services
locally with the provider of any excursions
and activities, we recommend that you check
your travel insurance covers any services you
book and take part in, and that you familiarise
yourself with the company providing the services
and any conditions that apply and literature/
documentation you receive.
Resort, ski-school & hotel-run childcare
facilities - The resort information pages & our
website include basic details showing where
a facility operated during the 2014/15 winter
season. These are mentioned by way of a guide
only and we’re unable to accept responsibility
or give any guarantee for the standard of
the facilities and qualifications of personnel
employed at resort, ski-school or 3rd party
hotel-run kids’ clubs. Nor can we guarantee
the accuracy of the information given to us by
these 3rd parties. Neilson hasn’t undertaken
Health & Safety checks and club(s) may not
meet standards of similar facilities in the UK.
You are strongly advised to remember that local
standards and requirements in respect of such
clubs may differ overseas. You must ensure that
you are completely satisfied with the facilities
and staff providing this service when you are in
resort and before you enroll your child/children
into the club and into the clubs care. Any prices
and durations quoted are for guidance only.
Neilson-run children’s clubs - We offer 3 clubs in
our hotels in El Tarter in Andorra and Les Deux
Alpes in France. The clubs cater for children
Neilson-run hotels and chalets - In Andorra,
France & Italy, Neilson run and staff a selection

Neilson-run children’s clubs - Health matters
- If your child falls ill during the holiday, you will
be expected to take over care until there is no
further risk of the illness spreading. Please note
a doctor’s certificate may be required.
Neilson-run children’s clubs - Additional
needs - We operate an equal opportunities and
inclusion policy in all of our children’s clubs, we
work together with you to cater to your child’s
individual needs. Please assist us by informing
our reservations team when booking of any
additional requirements your child may have. The
more information you can provide us with the
more certain we can be of catering to you and
your child’s needs. Some children do not settle
into our clubs, we will work with you to help
them, however if they fail to do so we may ask
you to remove the child to avoid causing them
and other children distress.
Neilson-run children’s clubs - Supervision
and responsibility - We will be responsible
for your children whilst they are in our care,
we will ensure that they are supervised at all
times. Please note: Due to best practice and
health and safety reasons we do not offer in
room babysitting. We do not promote the use
of baby listening devices and children should
be supervised at all times, never being left in
rooms unsupervised. Our child protection policy
is available on request. For more information on
health and safety, care ratios, evening care, what
to bring, menus and sample days see

Your accommodation & resort
Local charges - Unless we have stated that a
service or facility is free in our accommodation
descriptions or included services/facilities in an
all-inclusive package, you may be asked to pay a
charge locally. Here are a few examples of what
you might expect to pay for locally, but always
check first as there may be others.
•Safety deposit facilities, room service, minibar,
TV / satellite TV, telephone calls, internet
and Wi-Fi
•Facilities and equipment such as spa entry, indoor
pools, sauna, steam room and table games
•Health & beauty treatments
•Local taxes payable on check out
•Entertainment and activities away from your
accommodation
•Highchairs, cots, hotel-run children’s clubs and
meals for infants
•Certain à la carte meal options
•Porterage of luggage at any stage
•Daily car parking charge at some hotels/
apartments
In Chalets, footwear is to be indoor shoes or
slippers only - so please make sure you pack
something comfortable.
Neilson-run hotels have their own bars. Local
licensing laws prohibit the consumption of dutyfree and bought-in alcohol in the public areas.
Our Neilson-run hotels do not feature in local
Tourist Office publications and are not subject
to official classification. This is because they are
generally leased by us for the entire season and
run exclusively for our guests.
Large multi-bedded rooms in chalets which
are significantly more spacious than others in
the same chalet, or bedrooms with two distinct
sleeping areas have been priced on the basis
of 3 or 4 people sharing. This means that
under-occupancy supplements will apply if just 2
people book these rooms.
Accommodation can, at times, have a lively
atmosphere, and facilities and entertainment may
vary according to the mix and ages of guests in
residence.
Check-in times - Depending on what time you
arrive in to your resort, it may not be possible to
check-in to your room/s straight away. Generally,
check-in times are between 12 & 4pm, but if
you are staying in an apartment, some may not
be ready until around 5pm. In all cases though,
delays may occur with check-in whilst your room
is prepared for you. Often, the property will
have a left luggage area for you to store your
bags, but these will be left at your own risk and
the property may not be liable for any loss or
damage.
Multi-bedded rooms - Please note that if you
book a multi-bedded room but your party is
less than the number shown, the hotelier may
allocate you a room with fewer beds when you
check in.
Guesthouses - Due to the allocation on arrival
nature of guesthouses, we cannot guarantee
that more than 1 room per booking will be in the
same guesthouse.
Apartment deposits - In most cases when
arriving at self-catering accommodation, you’ll be
asked for a deposit. This is refundable, less the
cost of any additional cleaning, damage or loss.
When you register, many hotels will ask you for
an imprint of your credit/debit card to cover any
personal extras. In some cases they may ask for a
large cash deposit.
Apartment services - Cleaning is usually
carried out prior to your arrival. No additional
cleaning will take place during your stay unless
otherwise specified. Important: You must leave
the apartment in the condition that you found
it. Failure to do so will result in a cleaning
charge being made by the relevant property
management and deducted from your deposit.
Austrian properties - Most properties in Austria
have ‘Austrian twin’ beds which are two separate
mattresses and bed linen on one large bed
frame with a common headboard.
Italian properties - Due to recent changes in
Italian tax law, a daily ‘Tourist Tax’ may be charged.
If charged, you would need to pay the hotel
directly and the amount varies between approx.
€0.50 & €3 per person, per day depending on
the star rating of the accommodation.
Views from a balcony/terrace - Rooms
described as having a piste, village or mountain
view may not have a full piste, village or
mountain view because of flora & fauna or
buildings blocking the view.
Internet access - All Neilson-run hotels and
chalets have Wi-Fi in the public areas free of
charge. We cannot guarantee an uninterrupted
service or that the speed will be the same as
you experience in the UK. The connection may
be restricted at certain times of the day and
technical issues may cause temporary withdrawal
of internet facilities.
Overseas safety standards
Safety standards and regulations overseas may
not be of the same level that we enjoy in the UK.
For instance, the design and height of balconies
may differ. The setting and enforcement of
local regulations is a matter for the authorities
of the country and the foreign supplier of
the services concerned. We are working with
hoteliers to improve standards wherever
possible. You should familiarise yourself with fire
procedures, including emergency exits in your
accommodation. If in doubt, ask a member of
our team.
Our service - At Neilson, we are proud that
our staff are the best in the business. They are
thoroughly trained in making sure that you
have a great holiday, added to which they are
local experts and their knowledge is at your
disposal. Our staff are also trained to know
when they are not wanted - so if you want
to do your own thing while you’re on holiday
they’ll be perfectly happy to leave you alone. If
you have a complaint, we need to know about
it and our staff will do their best to solve the
problem as soon as is reasonably possible to
minimise any inconvenience. This will also help
us improve the holiday experience for all our
customers. There may be times when our local
staff are unable to solve a particular problem
immediately. While appreciating that this may
be upsetting for you, Neilson does expect you
to behave in a reasonable manner towards our
staff. Consequently, should any customer act in
a threatening or intimidating manner towards
Neilson staff, we shall have no hesitation in taking
appropriate legal measures.
Resort development - Even in established
resorts there is often a possibility of building
work taking place. If in our opinion this is likely to
affect your booked accommodation we will tell
you at the time of booking, or if you have already
booked, you will be contacted before departure
if there is time.
Smoking - Restrictive legalization against
smoking is increasingly common in destinations
worldwide. You may find that your hotel or areas
within your hotel and holiday resort operate
enforced smoking regulations. Fines may be
imposed for breaking regulations. To find out
more visit the FCO website www.fco.gov.uk
Travellers with reduced mobility or disability
- The majority of overseas accommodation,
overseas transport (including transfers) and
other holiday services provided overseas are
not equipped to cater for the needs of many
disabled holidaymakers. It is therefore important,
if you have any disability, that the appropriate
enquiries are made about the suitability of
particular accommodation, resorts, transport
and services, and that you are fully satisfied
you have made the correct choice before you
book and confirm your holiday. Please note: if
special arrangements need to be made, an extra
charge may be levied, either before you go or
when you arrive in resort. We cannot be held
responsible if you fail to tell us about any
special needs or requirements that will affect
your holiday experience.
General information
Photography and maps - While we make every
effort to ensure that the piste/resort maps
shown in this brochure are up to date, they are
included to give you an indication of the ski area
available and we cannot guarantee every lift and
run is represented. Some of the atmospheric
photography shown in conjunction with
particular accommodation and resorts advertised
in this brochure (e.g. kids playing in the snow
or close-up in a pool) was shot on location
and not necessarily at the accommodation or
resort concerned. We’d like to thank all of our
suppliers and partners for assisting in providing
photography for this brochure and our website.
Credit card charges - When booking a holiday
with a credit card through our website or
directly with us over the phone, a 2% charge
with a maximum charge of £95 per transaction
will apply.
Telephone Calls - To ensure we consistently
deliver excellent customer service, telephone
calls to Neilson’s UK offices may be recorded.
Calls to 0333 numbers are charged at local
call rate from BT fixed lines. Mobile and other
providers’ charges may vary.
IMPORTANT HOLIDAY INFORMATION
shown in this brochure were correct at the time
of going to print, are ‘from’ prices, based on low
season and will be confirmed upon enquiry. We
reserve the right to increase prices at any time
or withdraw ski pack elements from sale.
Please read the following booking conditions carefully as they set out the
terms and conditions of the contract between you and Neilson Active
Holidays Limited, trading as Neilson. The terms ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ as used
in these terms and conditions mean Neilson Active Holidays Limited. Our
obligations to you will vary depending upon whether or not what you book
with us is a ‘package’ as defined by the Package Travel, Package Holidays
and Package Tours Regulations 1992.
Section A - Explains in detail what is a package and contains the booking
conditions that apply particularly to a Package.
Section B - Shows certain terms that apply to any type of booking
Section A - Package
The terms set out below, together with the terms set out in Section B,
apply when you book a Package.
Any booking you make through us will be a Package with the exception
of circumstances where you only book a single component (i.e. a flight,
a hotel, a transfer or a lift pass) or where you book a single component
and then go on to add another single component to compliment the first
booking. In the case of such non-Package bookings, we have not arranged
your travel arrangements as a combination.
A1: Your contract/financial protection
The financial bonding requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
have been observed by us in relation to the provision of all our Packages.
Our ATOL number is 10794. The flight inclusive package holidays provided
by us are financially protected by the ATOL scheme, since we hold an
ATOL granted by the CAA. When you buy a flight inclusive package
holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is
financially protected, where you can get information on what this means
for you and who to contact if things go wrong.
We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide
you with the travel services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable
alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to
do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide
you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no
extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances, the
alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to
pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that
alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it
may not be possible for the CAA to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in
which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL Scheme
(or against your credit card issuer, where applicable). Where you book with
us via an agent, payments you make to that agent will be held by the agent
on behalf of and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust at all
times, but subject to the agent’s obligation to pass on such payments to us
for so long as we do not fail. In the unlikely event of our failure, any of your
payments held at that time by the agent or any payment subsequently
accepted from you by the agent, is and continues to be held by the agent
on behalf of and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust
without any obligation to pay that money to us.
If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to
provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative
ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air
Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the
ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you
assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have
arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any
claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable).
You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if
that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.
Our registered office is Locksview, Brighton Marina, Brighton, East
Sussex, BN2 5HA. Neilson Active Holidays is a company registered in
England under number is 02987304
A2: Changes made by us before travel
From time to time we may have to change details of the Package you have
booked. If any change will have a significant effect on your Package, we
will tell you about it before your Package, if there is time. Changes we will
tell you about include:
•Change of your UK departure point
•Significant change of your destination
•A change of more than 6 hours to the time you leave the UK or your
destination on breaks of 4 nights or less, or a change of more than 12
hours for all other longer holiday durations.
•If we downgrade your accommodation by one full Tour Operator rating
(or to a lower official rating where no Tour Operator rating is used)
If you do not want to accept a significant change, which we will tell you
about before you depart, we will, if we are able to do so, offer you an
alternative Package of equivalent or closely similar standard and price at
no extra cost, or a less expensive Package, in which case we will refund
the difference in price. If you do not wish to take the alternative we offer
you, you can choose a different Package offered for sale by us and pay, or
receive a refund of, any price difference. Or, if you prefer, you can cancel
your Package and receive a full refund of any money you have paid to
us, except for any amendment charges. We will consider an appropriate
refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to
transfer or reuse your policy.
Unless the change is as a result of circumstances listed in the paragraph
below headed ’Circumstances Beyond our Control’, we will pay you
compensation as shown in the table below. If you accept the significant
change or amend to a different Package offered for sale by us you will
receive compensation as per Option 1 in the table below. If you reject the
significant change and cancel your booking you will receive compensation
as per Option 2. The amounts in the table are by way of guideline only and
may in appropriate circumstances be increased.
Compensation payments relating to a child place for which you have paid
a child price are half the amounts shown (up to half the child price paid).
There are no compensation payments payable to those travelling on ‘free
child places’, ‘free group places’ or infants.

A3: Minor changes made by us before travel
Any change which is not deemed to be significant, as outlined in the
Section entitled “Changes made by us before travel”, will be classed as
a minor change. We will endeavour to tell you about a minor change
before you travel, however, we will not pay compensation as a result of this
change.
A4: Circumstances beyond our control
Except where we say differently elsewhere in these conditions, we
cannot pay any compensation, reimburse expenses, or cover losses
for any amount or otherwise accept responsibility if, as a result of
circumstances beyond our control, we have to change your Package
after departure, or we, or our suppliers, cannot supply your Package,
as we, or they, had agreed, or you suffer any loss or damage of any
description. When we refer to circumstances beyond our control, we
mean any event that we, or the supplier in question, could not foresee
or avoid, even after taking all reasonable care. Such circumstances will
usually include, but are not limited to, war, terrorist activity, civil unrest,
industrial dispute, bad weather (actual or threatened) and significant
building work ongoing outside of your accommodation, which is not
known to us in advance of your departure date and building work from
a third party (such as resort development).
A5: Changes made after travel
If, after your departure, a significant part of your Package cannot be
provided, you will be offered a suitable alternative if possible. If it is not
possible to offer you a suitable alternative or, for good reasons, you do not
accept the alternative arrangements, we will return you to the place of your
departure. If appropriate, we will also pay you compensation, unless your
return has been due to circumstances beyond our control. The amount of
compensation will be reasonable, taking account of all the circumstances.
A6: Cancellation by us
We can cancel your package and any other holiday we operate. On rare
occasions, we may need to cancel your package if there is insufficient
demand for your particular package. If we have to cancel a Package for
any particular reason, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible.
In these circumstances, we will, if we are able to do so, offer you an
alternative Package of equivalent or closely similar standard and price at
no extra cost, or a less expensive package, in which case we will refund
the difference in price. If you do not wish to take the alternative we offer
you, you can choose another offered for sale by us and pay, or receive
a full refund of, any price difference. Or, if you prefer, you can receive a
full refund of any money you have paid to us, except for any amendment
charges. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums
paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy.
However, we will not cancel your Package within 12 weeks of departure
except if we are forced to do so because of unusual circumstances we
could not have foreseen, where we could not avoid the results of those
circumstances even after taking all reasonable care. (See ‘Circumstances
Beyond Our Control’ above) No compensation will be payable in these
circumstances, whenever they happen, and we will only have to offer you
the above choices. We can also cancel if you fail to make payment for your
booking on time.
A7: Flight delays
Delays sometimes occur. We work closely with the airlines and overseas
offices to make sure any delay is as short as possible. When a delay
occurs we will try to make sure refreshments or meals are provided
when appropriate. We will not do this ourselves as such arrangements
will normally be the responsibility of the airline. If you have taken out our
recommended travel insurance or a comparable policy you should have
cover against delays.
A8: Our liability to you
(i) Our obligations, and those of our suppliers providing any service or
facility involved in any of your Package, are to take reasonable skill and
care to arrange for the provision of such services and facilities and, where
we or our supplier is actually providing the service or facility, to provide
them with reasonable skill and care. Compliance with any applicable
regulatory requirements (such as, for example, those of the CAA) will be
proper performance of our, and our suppliers’, obligations. Conversely,
however, reasonable skill and care does not necessarily mean compliance
with each and every local law and regulation particularly where these
impose absolute obligations. You must show that reasonable skill and care
has not been used if you wish to make any claim. (ii) For claims which do
not involve death or personal injury, we accept liability, subject to
paragraph (i) above and (v) below, should any part of your Package not be
as described in the relevant brochure, on our websites or elsewhere by us
(as applicable to your method of booking) before you leave the UK. If we
have liability, we will, subject to paragraphs (iii), (vi), (vii), (viii), and (ix) below,
pay you reasonable compensation. However, the maximum we will pay you
in any circumstances is twice the price of the Package. This maximum will
only be payable when every aspect of your Package has gone wrong and
you have not received any benefit from your Package. Any sums received
by you from suppliers will be deducted from any sum paid to you as
compensation by us. (iii) Where a flight ticket is downgraded or a flight
cancelled, delayed, or boarding is denied by any carrier in circumstances
which would entitle you to compensation under the Denied Boarding
Regulations 2004, then you are obliged to claim the appropriate sums
pursuant to those Regulations from the carrier. Any sums received by you
in this respect constitute the full amount of your entitlement to
compensation for all matters flowing from the carrier’s actions and which
fall within the scope of the Denied Boarding Regulations. If, for any reason,
you do not claim against the carrier and make a claim for compensation
from us, you must, at the time of payment of any compensation to you,
make a complete assignment to us of the rights you have against the
carrier in relation to the claim that gives rise to that compensation
payment. (iv) For claims which involve death or personal injury as a result
of an activity forming part of your Package (excluding Overseas Booked
Excursions see Section entitled “Excursions”), we have liability subject to
paragraph (i) above and (v) below. If we accept liability, we will, subject to
paragraphs (vi), (vii), (viii), (ix) and (x) below, pay you reasonable
compensation. (v) We accept liability in accordance with paragraphs (i), (ii)
and (iv) above and subject to paragraphs (vi), (vii), (viii), (ix) and (x) below
except where the cause of the failure in your Package or any death or
personal injury you may suffer is not due to any fault on our part or that of
our servants, agents or suppliers because it is either attributable to you, or
attributable to someone unconnected with the Package and is
unforeseeable or unavoidable; or because the failure is due to unusual or
unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of
which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been
exercised, or due to an event which neither we, nor our servants, agents or
suppliers could have foreseen or forestalled. (vi) If any International
Convention applies to or governs any of the services or facilities included
in your Package arranged or provided by us, or provided by any of our
suppliers, and you make a claim against us of any nature arising out of
death, injury, loss or damage suffered during or as a result of the provision
of those services or facilities, our liability to pay you compensation and/or
the amount (if any) of compensation payable to you by us will be limited in
accordance with and/or in an identical manner to that provided for by the
International Convention concerned (in each case including in respect of
the conditions of liability, the time for bringing any claim and the type and
amount of any damages that can be awarded). For further details of the
International Conventions which may apply, see paragraphs (vii) and (viii)
below. You can get copies of the relevant Conventions if you ask us. For
the avoidance of doubt, this means that we are to be regarded as having
all benefit of any limitations of compensation contained in any of these
Conventions or any other International Conventions applicable to your
Package. Any applicable Protocols or amendments shall apply to all such
International Conventions. (vii) International Conventions in respect of
international air travel include the Warsaw Convention 1929 (including as
amended by the Hague Protocol 1955 and by any additional Montreal
Protocols of 1975 and 1999 or otherwise) or the Montreal Convention 1999
(for international travel by air and/ or for airlines with an operating licence
granted by an EU country, which the EC Regulation on Air Carrier Liability
No 889/ 2002 for national and international travel by air has given effect
to). Where any claim or part of a claim (including those involving death or
personal injury) concerns or is based on any flight arrangements (including
the process of getting on and/or off the aircraft concerned) provided by
any air carrier where we have arranged the flight as part of our contract,
the maximum amount of compensation we will have to pay you will be
limited. The most we will have to pay you for that claim or that part of a
claim if we are found liable to you on any basis is limited to the most the
carrier concerned would have to pay under the International Convention
or Regulation which applies to the flight in question. Please note: for all
such claims (including those involving death or personal injury) where the
carrier is not obliged to make any payment to you under the applicable
International Convention or Regulation (including where any claim is not
notified or issued in accordance with the time limits stipulated in the
applicable Convention or Regulation), we are similarly not obliged to make
a payment to you for that claim or part of the claim. When making any
payment, we are entitled to deduct any money which you have received or
are entitled to receive from the airline for the complaint or claim in
question. Please also note that strict time limits apply for notifying loss,
damage or delay of luggage to the airline. Any proceedings in respect of
any claim (including one for personal injury or death) must be brought
within 2 years of the date stipulated in the applicable Convention or
Regulation. (viii) Other International Conventions which may apply include
in respect of rail travel, the COTIF Convention concerning International
Carriage by Rail 1980 (as amended); in respect of carriage by road, the
Geneva Convention 1973; and, in respect of hotels, the Paris Convention
1962.(ix) You are obliged to assist us in recovering from any third party any
sum which may compensate us for any sums we pay you. In particular, you
are obliged to assign to us any rights that you may have against any other
person whose acts or omissions have caused or contributed to our legal
liability to pay you compensation. You must also provide us with all

•You will be advised at the time of booking what payment is required
for your particular arrangements. The balance of the cost of your travel
arrangements must be paid by the date specified on your confirmation
invoice or, if you have booked through a Travel Agent, please ensure
payment reaches the Agent by the date they have advised. We may
cancel your Holiday if you do not make your final payment on time. If we
do this we will keep your deposit. If we extend the period for you to pay
the final payment at your request, and you still fail to pay or cancel your
booking, the cancellation charges will be increased in accordance with
the section entitled ‘Cancellation By You’. If you book through one of our
authorised travel agents, they will hold all the money you pay for your
Holiday on our behalf. Please check the details on your invoice carefully.
If you have any questions, or anything does not appear to be right, you
must contact our reservations staff or your travel agent, immediately. If
you are purchasing a travel insurance policy through us, the premium for
this will also be payable at time of booking.
A9: Baggage
The amount of compensation we will pay for any loss or damage to
luggage is limited in accordance with the Conventions listed in the above
Section A8. For claims for missing or damaged baggage you must follow
the rules on the back or your ticket or contained within the carrier’s
conditions of carriage. Please note time limits apply within which to notify
us or the carrier and make a claim. We will not accept liability for highvalue items which you should insure for the appropriate amount.
Section B - All bookings
For all bookings as described in Section A, a contract will exist between
you and us when we issue a confirmation invoice/receipt/e-mail. Some
travel and accommodation arrangements are only available on a request
basis - where this is the case you will be advised at the time you make your
enquiry and details of the arrangements on request will be shown on any
provisional documentation we issue. Any arrangements that we advise
you are on request are not confirmed or guaranteed and are subject to
change (including price) until we receive confirmation from our supplier.
This particularly applies when booking holidays using scheduled airlines. If
you are booking on the internet or over the phone the lead name on the
booking must be a minimum age of 18. If you are under 18 and travelling
without an adult we will only allow you to book at a high street travel
agent provided your parent/legal guardian is present and subject to you
satisfying our suppliers’ conditions of travel. The parent/guardian will
be required to sign the booking form in front of the travel agent and a
contract will then exist between the parent/legal guardian and us.
The lead name is responsible for payment of the total booking price,
including any insurance premiums and subsequent cancellation or
amendment charges that may be payable. He or she also agrees to provide
accurate and full information to the remainder of the travelling party in
relation to the booking, including any changes thereto and confirms that all
the other members of the party, including any that may be added at a later
date, agree to be bound by these conditions, and all other information in
the relevant brochure and on our websites (as applicable).
B1: Payment terms
When you book your holiday you agree to pay us either:
•A deposit at the time of booking followed by the remaining balance due
on the booking. You will be advised of the current deposit payable at the
time of booking. The remaining balance for the holiday is due by the date
specified on your confirmation invoice. This will usually be either 12 weeks
before your travel date, depending on the type of holiday booked, or
•The full cost of the holiday if it is 12 weeks or less before you go
depending on the type of Holiday booked.
•Such other deposit as may be required by the supplier of the services
for the arrangements in question.
B2: Method of payment
Credit Cards: We accept Barclaycard/Visa, Access/MasterCard.
Customers choosing to use this method of payment will be subject to a
credit card handling fee of which will be advised at the time of booking.
Debit Cards: we accept payment by most forms of debit card. We will not
charge a handling fee for payment by this method.
For any changes that can be made, we will charge the price that applies
on the day the change is made. Remember any change to your departure
date, airport, transport, destination, accommodation, or length of holiday
has to apply to all members of your booking.
The lead name on the booking must give to your travel agent or to us
directly, notice to change. We will apply charges from the date we receive
the instruction from you or your travel agent.
You are not permitted to change all the names on any booking and at least
one of the passengers (over 18) on the original booking must remain, unless
you are prevented from travelling for reasons beyond your control and not
simply from a change of mind.
The following tables set out the charges for changes you make to

random checks, including checks of the electoral roll, and may request you

B4: Flight reconfirmation
It is your responsibility to ensure that you reconfirm the departure date
and times of all your flights at least 72 hours prior to departure. This is
particularly important in respect of subsequent journeys after you have
left the UK.
B5: Ticketing
Your tickets in the form of an e-ticket and any other documents relating
to your booking will be sent to the e-mail address which you give us at
the time of booking. Provided you have paid the total cost of the travel
arrangements, we will endeavour to dispatch your e-tickets to you at least
2 weeks prior to departure. It is important that you check all details of your
travel documents before leaving the UK. If there are any inaccuracies or
you have any other query please contact us immediately.
B6: Changes you make before travel
If you want to change the arrangements you have booked in any way,
we will try to help you, although we cannot guarantee that we will
always be able to do this as changes are subject to availability at the
time and to our terms and conditions and those of the transport or
accommodation providers’.

*The maximum amendment fee we will charge for changes made in any
one-day is £150 per person up to a maximum of £400 per booking. This
does not include where cancellation charges are applied as shown.
Note 1: It is not possible to transfer your booking to a departure date more
than 6 months after your original travel date without incurring cancellation
charges.
Note 2: You are not permitted to change all the names on any booking
and at least one of the passengers (over 18) on the original booking must
remain, unless you are prevented from travelling for reasons beyond your
control and not simply from a change of mind. Name changes on day of
departure, where permitted, will incur additional administration costs that
may be significantly more than stated above. Name changes on flights may
be treated as a cancellation and re-booking and you will be asked to pay
any costs we incur from our supplies together with the charge set out in
the table.
Please note that the majority of our flight and transfer providers do not
typically allow changes to be made to tickets after bookings have been
made. The tickets we sell are very restrictive and our charges reflect the
charges imposed by our suppliers.
Changes such as name changes (including initial changes), destination
and date changes can be treated by such suppliers as a cancellation and
rebooking, regardless of the period of notice given to us. If the supplier
treats the change as a cancellation and rebooking we will pass on to you
the cost imposed by the supplier, which could be up to 100% of the ticket
price, in addition to any difference in price for the changed arrangements
and, you must also pay an amount to cover our administration costs as
detailed below. Also note that the transport provider may refuse to issue
replacement tickets for lost or stolen tickets and new tickets may have to
be purchased by you. The cost of the new ticket may be greater than the
cost of the original ticket.
In addition to any charges applied by the transport providers, we will also
apply a maximum charge of £25 for each person on the booking and for
each item you want to change to cover our costs of administering the
change. Any booking discount you may have received at the time the
original booking was made, may be altered or reduced whenever
changes are made.

B7: Cancellation by you
The lead name on the booking must give to your travel agent or to us
directly, notice to cancel in writing, either to the Travel Agent or to the
correspondence address as stated on the invoice. We will apply charges
from the date we receive the instruction from you or your travel agent.
For cancellations you make to accommodation, the charges set out in
the table below will apply, in addition to any difference in price for the
changed arrangements. The flights we sell are 100% non-refundable in the
event you want to cancel your booking in full or in part. Please note that
the price of your flight includes the amount (currently £2.50 per person)
which we are required to pay to the CAA as part of the ATOL Protection
Contribution (“the APC Sum”). In the event that you choose to cancel your
flight the APC Sum is not refundable in any circumstances.
If you do cancel, you must still pay any insurance premiums and
administration charges, which arose before the cancellation, and any
deposits paid for any pre-booked items or services.

If any member of the booking cancels and you cannot fill that
person’s place, you may have to pay additional supplements for your
accommodation. For example, you may have to pay single or underoccupancy supplements. If you do cancel, you must still pay any insurance
premiums and amendment charges, which arose before the cancellation,
and any deposits paid for any pre-booked items or services.
When we sell you a Package including transport services other than
Charter flights, the cancellation charges imposed on us by our suppliers
are usually restrictive. Whilst our deposits usually cover most of the
costs we incur if you cancel, some of the arrangements we sell are
non-refundable. Our cancellation charges for Packages significantly
increase within 56 days of departure. Within 7 days of departure any
cancellation you make incurs 100% charges and the price of your
Package is non-refundable.
Cancellation of extra services
If you cancel any ‘Extras’ such as lift passes, tuition, equipment rental
or excursions we will pass on any costs imposed by the provider of
the service, in addition, we will charge up to £35 to cover our costs of
administering the change. If you cancel any travel insurance you booked
through us your premium will not be refunded, as cover under the policy
will already have begun.
BOOKING CONDITIONS
assistance we may reasonably require. Finally, you must follow the
procedures for the notification of complaints set out in the clause below
entitled “If You Have A Complaint”. (x) Should you become ill while on your
Package, you must, in addition to reporting your illness to our
representative, local agent or Duty Office, consult a local doctor and also
consult your GP upon your return to the UK. Should you then wish to make
a claim against us as a result of that illness, you must provide us with
details of both the local doctor whom you saw and your GP, together with
written authority for us to obtain a medical report from both those doctors.
(xi) If you or any member of your party suffers during your Package any
difficulty through misadventure as a result of any activity which does not
form part of your contracted Package arrangements, we will offer you
prompt assistance. All assistance (financial or otherwise) is subject to our
reasonable discretion and a maximum total cost to ourselves of £1,000 per
booking and is subject to you notifying us that you require such assistance
within 30 days of the incident. If you are entitled to have any costs and
expenses arising from such an incident met by or from any insurance policy
or if you obtain a costs order against anyone in relation to the incident, you
must repay to us the costs and expenses we spend in assisting you.(xii)
Other than as set out above, and as is detailed elsewhere in these booking
conditions, we shall have no legal liability whatsoever to you for any loss,
damage, personal injury or death which you suffer arising directly or
indirectly from any aspect of your package.
B9: Flight and other travel timings
Flight timings are provided by airlines and are subject to Air Traffic Control
restrictions. All means of transportation are subject to weather conditions
and the need for constant maintenance and the ability of passengers to
check in on time. There is no guarantee that transport will depart at the
times stated on any itinerary or tickets which you receive. All timings are
estimates only, and we do not have any liability to you for any delay, which
may arise, or for any schedule alterations.
B10: Complaints
If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your travel arrangements, please
inform your holiday representative, the hotel management or customer
relations desk as soon as possible. If they cannot help you must contact us
on the telephone number supplied to you on your invoice/receipt and we
will do everything reasonably possible to resolve the issue. If you are still
not satisfied please write to the address below within 28 days of returning
home. If you have special needs, which prevent you from writing to us
then, where possible, we will accept details of your complaint over the
telephone. The address to send complaints to is:
Customer Services, Locksview, Brighton Marina,
Brighton, BN2 5HA
To speak to us personally please call 0333 014 3614
Alternatively you can email us using the relevant address below:
[email protected]
Failure to follow the above procedures and/or failure to inform us within 28
days of your return of any complaint may reduce or extinguish any rights
you have to claim compensation from us, or from any relevant supplier.
B11: Information and prices
We publish brochure and website information many months in advance
and, as far as we know, all information is correct at the time of publication.
However, things may still change after publication and we check regularly
to see if we need to update or correct any information or prices. If there
are any significant information changes or we find any mistakes, we will put
details on our computer reservation system or website so you will receive
the latest information when you make your booking.
Descriptions of accommodation, facilities, services and itineraries we provide
are based on information obtained from our suppliers. Sometimes the
facilities described, such as air conditioning, swimming pools or equipment
for activities (for example, a particular dinghy, bike, windsurfer or a water ski
boats), will be withdrawn for reasons such as maintenance, bad weather or
lack of demand from guests. Where our suppliers advise us about significant
changes to descriptions or about the withdrawal of any significant facility, we
will tell you as soon as possible. Some activities, for example, tobogganing
and dog-sledding, scuba diving, watersports or golf, where not directly
provided by us, or facilities such as hire shops, restaurants, shuttle buses
and ski lifts, may not be available at all times and are normally managed by
independent local operators. We have no control over their availability or
prices. Outside the peak season it is common for facilities and services to
be less widely available, both in your accommodation and holiday resort/
destination generally. Some activities or facilities may not be available all
year round. In some places during high season (and even at other times)
there is a possibility you will be disturbed by noise from less considerate
groups, so please bear this in mind when choosing your destination and
accommodation. Any transfer times we quote for travel between airport
and resort are approximate and, depending on circumstances, the journey
time to your own chosen property may be longer.
B12: Data protection
By making a booking with us, you agree we may use and disclose the
information you provide for the following purposes: to enable us to
process your booking (which will include passing your information to third
party suppliers, such as hoteliers and airlines, and may involve sending
your information to countries that do not have an equal level of privacy
legislation to that in the UK); for market research and analysis purposes;
for improving customer service; for the detection and prevention of
fraud or other crime (which may include providing your information to
organisations such as Banks and credit card companies); for compliance
with legal requirements (which will include passing your information to
public authorities such as customs and immigration) and for marketing
contact by means of post or telephone to provide you with offers, products
and services from Neilson Active Holidays and carefully selected third
parties. If you purchase travel insurance from us, we will need to pass your
personal data (including sensitive personal data and personal/sensitive
data relating to other members of your travelling party) to the insurance
company. Telephone calls to/from ourselves may be recorded for training
and quality purposes and for preventing/detecting crime. If you have
booked with us via our web site, or if you have chosen for us to contact
you by e-mail, we will communicate with you using the e-mail address
you have provided to supply you with your travel documentation. We are
entitled to assume that the e-mail address you have provided is correct
and that you understand and accept the risks associated with using this
form of communication. Please note that you may still need to contact us
by post or via our call centre as required by our booking conditions. If you
wish to make a data subject access request for a copy of any personal
data we hold on you, please write to: Customer Services, Neilson Active
Holidays, Locksview, Brighton Marina, Brighton, East Sussex, BN2 5HA.
If you wish to opt out of receiving marketing communications from us,
please advise one of our sales consultants or make the appropriate opt out
choices on the website when you book.
B13: Acceptance of risk
As with all sporting activities, the nature of the holidays we provide and
activities you may choose to participate in involves a degree of personal
risk. You recognise that many activities, such as biking, sailing, diving,
skiing, snowboarding and waterskiing are activities with a danger of
personal injury or death. Due to rough terrain and uneven surfaces on
land and the dangers associated with the sea and seabed, the natural
environment can at times be hazardous. By entering a contract with us, you
accept these risks and you are responsible for your own actions. Although,
we or our suppliers may provide instructions and tuition to you as part of
the arrangements you book, which will minimize these risks, your booking
is accepted by us on the basis that you understand and accept the risks
involved in physical activities. If at any time you or a member of your party
feels uncomfortable or unprepared to take part in or carry on with an
activity during your holiday, an instructor should be advised immediately.
You are under no obligation to take part in or complete activities that form
part of their holiday booking. You must ensure you have suitable travel
insurance for the activities you plan to participate in.
B14: Your responsibility
We want all our customers to have an enjoyable, carefree Holiday. But you
must remember that you are responsible for your actions and the effect
they may have on others. If we, or another person in authority, believe:
•Your actions could upset, annoy or disturb other customers, our suppliers
or our own staff, or put them in any risk or danger, or damage property, or
•You are unfit to travel.
We may end your Holiday and terminate your contract. You and your
travelling party will be prevented from using your booked accommodation,
transport, and any other Travel Arrangements forming part of your booking
and we will not be liable for any refund, compensation or any other costs
you have to pay. Alternatively at our discretion, you may be permitted
to continue with your Holiday but may have additional terms of carriage
imposed upon you.
See the ‘Holiday information’ section on our websites for further details.
In addition to the above and the effect your actions may have on others,
you must particularly also bear in mind that you are responsible for your
safety, and that you are responsible for the condition of the property you
occupy. We are not responsible for any accidents which occur in or around
swimming pools due to your inappropriate, or irresponsible behaviour, or
for any accidents which occur anywhere on properties because of glass,
china or the like which you have broken and/or have left in a way in which
injury can result. We expect that you will enjoy your holiday with us. We
appreciate that you may well drink alcohol as part of your enjoyment. You
must, however, do so responsibly and we will have no liability to you for
any injury, loss or damage you suffer as a result of your judgment being
impaired wholly or partly by alcohol. We will hold you and the members
of your travelling party jointly and individually liable for any damage to
the accommodation, furniture, apparatus or other materials located within
the accommodation, together with any legal costs we incur in pursuing
a claim. It is your duty to report any breakages, defects or damage to an
appropriate person immediately.
If your behaviour or the behaviour of any members of your travelling party
causes any transport aircraft to be diverted we and/or the carrier will hold
you and those members jointly and individually liable for all costs incurred
as a result of that diversion. We cannot accept liability for the behaviour
of others in your accommodation or flight, or for any facilities/services
withdrawn as a result of their action.
B15: Law and jurisdiction
Your contract will be governed by English law and any disputes will be
dealt with in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Northern
Ireland or Scotland, the courts of Northern Ireland or Scotland (as
appropriate), can deal with any disputes.
Press date: May 2015
BOOKING CONDITIONS
B8: Suppliers’ conditions
Our third party suppliers have their own booking conditions and
conditions of carriage, and you will be bound by these, so far as the
relevant supplier is concerned. Our Suppliers’ Conditions will also apply
to your contract with us, and in the event of any conflict between the
Suppliers’ Conditions and our conditions, the Suppliers’ Conditions will
prevail, save to the extent that any term in the Suppliers’ Conditions is
deemed to be invalid or unenforceable, in which event our conditions will
prevail. Some of our Suppliers’ Conditions may limit or exclude liability
on the part of the relevant supplier and, by virtue of their application to
your contract with us, may also limit or exclude our liability to you, and are
often subject to International Conventions. Where relevant, copies of such
conditions may be available for inspection at the office or on the website of
the relevant supplier.
