Access to the National School of Public Health (ESDY-NSPH), Athens
from the Airport
The ESDY-NSPH can easily be accessed by the Metro (underground blue line M3).
From Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos Airport) you can take:
1. the metro (ticket cost 10.00 € one way, service every half hour) and get off at Ambelokipi
Station (no change required, both the Airport Metro Station and Ambelokipoi Metro Station
are on the blue line (M3)). Get out of Ambelikipi Station through the Alexandras/Soutsou Exit
and walk at the direction of the cars. After 270 m (3 minutes walk) you arrive at the School.
2. the X95 Airport Bus (departs outside the Εxit 5 of the airport (arrivals level), ticket to be
bought at the Bus Booth just outside the exit, ticket cost 6.00 € one way), and get off at
Ambelokipi Platia Bus Stop (around 45 minutes journey). Then walk up, by a small
garden/park, and turn left to get to Leoforos Alexandras to arrive at the NSPH.
3. a taxi (from the Taxi Station outside Exits 2 and 3 of airport arrivals level). The cost of the taxi
is fixed if your destination is within the Inner Circle of Athens (daktylios) and amounts to:
38.00 € (hours 05:00 – 24:00)
54.00 € (hours 24:00 – 05:00)
If your destination is outside the Inner Circle (daktylios) then you pay by the taximeter.
The ESDY-NSPH, is right on the Inner Circle.
Leaving from the National School of Public Health (ESDY-NSPH), Athens
to the Airport
From the ESDY-NSPH to Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos Airport) you can take:

the metro (blue line M3) from Ambelokipi Station, Direction Airport (ticket cost 10.00 € one
way, service every half hour at 11’ and 41’ minutes past the hour, journey takes 32 minutes) and
get off at Terminus (Airport).

the X95 Airport Bus from Galaxias Bus Stop (around 7 minutes walk from the School, around 4550 minutes journey) and get off at Terminus (Airport). You have to wave to the bus-driver (raise
your hand) so that he stops for you to get on the bus. Ticket cost 6.00 € oneway, you can buy it
from the bus driver.
Galaxias X95 Bus Stop is the 5th stop after the departure of X95 Bus from Syntagma, and it takes
around 10 minutes to get from Syntagma to Galaxias.

Access to NSPH from President Hotel
It is around 7 minutes walk. Walk on Kifisias Avenue, and then turn left at Leoforos Alexandras (cross
by the traffic lights when you get at the cross-road).
Access to NSPH from Athinais Hotel
It is around 8 minutes walk. Either walk by the avenue (Leoforos Vassilissis Sofias) and then turn left
in Leoforos Alexandras, or go using the smaller inside streets.
Access to NSPH from Best Western Ilissia Hotel
It is a distance of 1.6 km, around 22 minutes walk.
Alternatively, you can walk to the metro station “Megaro Moussikis”, take the metro
Direction Doukissis Plakentias/Airport, and get off at the next stop “Ambelokipi”. After that
it is 3 minutes walk to get to the NSPH.
Access to NSPH from other hotels which had been recommended

take the blue line M3 Direction Doukissis Plakentias/Airport.
From Amalia Hotel you go the metro station Syntagma and take the blue line M3

Please have with you the ASPHER’s 50th ANNIVERSARY INVITATION which we will send you.
You may be asked to present it for entrance into the Museum, particularly if you go there
after 19:30 hrs.
It is advisable that you do not carry any luggage, rack sac, laptop bag, etc, because you will
have to deposit them at the lockers. Only ladies’ handbags are allowed within the Museum.
For those of you who want to leave from the NSPH after the General Assembly (15:30 hrs) in
order to walk around Athens and go on your own to The Acropolis Museum, you can very
easily access the museum by metro (red line M2 Akropoli Metro Station) (see following
map). If you go on your own, please try to be there between 18:45 and 19:00.
Dress code: professional/cocktail
From Akropoli Metro Station walk up Makrygianni Street and turn left into the
pedestrian Dionysiou Areopagitou Street.

Dinner at OIONOS Taverna in Plaka (map from Syntagma Metro Station)
Dinner is given in the Plaka area (old centre of Athens) and you have to go on your own
(pedestrian area, coaches cannot drive through there).
From Syntagma Metro Station it is 8 minutes walk. Get out through Syntagma Square exit
and then go up the marble stairs to get at Leoforos Vasilissis Amalias (the main avenue in
front of the Hellenic Parliament and the Unknown Soldier Monument), and walk to the right.
Turn right at Souri Street where you will see the Russian Holy Trinity Church.
Turn left at Filellinon Street (it is advisable to cross to the opposite pavement of Filellinon
Street at the traffic lights).
Then turn right at Kydathinaion Street (pedestrian street) which will get you to Plaka Square
where at Geronta Street is the OIONOS Restaurant (dinner venue, sitting outside).
