Trail Chic
What: The Mono Lake Committee and
Barefoot Wine & Bubbly are teaming up to
host a fashion show fundraiser to support
the Mono Lake Committee’s Outdoor
Education Transportation Fund to help
students get to Mono Lake for outdoor
education programs. Enjoy wine and bubbly
from Barefoot, a great silent auction, and
a fun and lighthearted show of the latest
outdoor fashions.

25th Anniversary Kids’ Fishing Festival
What: Come and catch 15” Alpers trout,
learn all about fishing from our guides,
learn to fly fish after making your own fly,
and stay for lunch. There will be lots of
raffle prizes and activities galore! Free for
kids 14 and under. Presented by Mono
Council for the Arts and the Eastern Sierra
Fishing Guides Association.

Summer of Stewardship: Lake George
What: Join Friends of the Inyo, MLTPA,
Mammoth Trails and supporting local
businesses in beautifying Lake George, one
of the best-loved spots in the Mammoth
Lakes Trails System! Bagel and orange
juice breakfast provided. Trail maintenance,
lakeshore cleanup and other stewardship
activities will be followed by free lunch for
volunteers, sponsored by the Mammoth
Sunrise Rotary Club, at Pokonobe at 1:30
p.m. and prizes. Volunteers of all ages and
abilities are welcome! Please come ready
for trail work with sturdy, closed-toed shoes,
long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. Gloves
and tools provided.

Sierra Club Hike, Dorothy Lake
What: Hike 7 miles on moderate trail with
900 ft. gain, starting from Rock Creek
Lake. Dogs okay!

east end of Rock Creek Lake at 8:45 a.m.

California Native Plant Society, Bristlecone
Chapter Mammoth Region Plant Sale
What: Plant sale; all proceeds go to the
Native Plant Society Bristlecone Chapter.
Bring a box to transport your new plants.
Plants for sale include Lewis’ Monkeyflower,
Desert Paintbrush, Wild Rose, Crimson
Columbine, Lupine, and Scarlet
Penstemon.

Summer Biathlon Clinic for Kids
What: The National Summer Biathlon
Championships are coming to Tahoe this
August. The Auburn Ski Club is offering
a Kids’ Biathlon Clinic so youngsters can
give the biathlon a try before the Nationals
event. The clinic is open to beginners and
those looking for improvement. Children
will have the opportunity to shoot a real
biathlon rifle (.22 caliber) after a safety
class. Coaching, rifles, and ammunition
will be provided. Parents must register
their children prior to the clinic and sign
a liability waiver on the day. Open to ages
8-18.

Dog Adoption Day
What: Eastern Sierra Dog Rescue is holding
an Adoption Day. There will be lots of
great dogs available for the low price of
$10 each. Adopt, don’t shop, for your next
canine buddy. Help save a life and consider
adopting a shelter dog.

What: Every Thursday, explore local trails
on a moderate to easy hike for fun and

Husky Hoop Camp
What: Basketball camp conducted by
Mammoth High School coaches and players.
For all male and female students going into
grades 4-8. Cost is $40 (includes t-shirt),
and scholarship assistance is available for
students who cannot afford camp.

Sierra Club Hike: Ragged Peak Plateau via
Young Lakes Trail from Lembert Dome
What: Eight-mile hike round trip, strenuous
hike at high elevation. Optional peak climb
if you sign out from the group. Fee or pass
required to enter Yosemite National Park.
No dogs allowed on trails in Yosemite.
