PROGRAM INFORMATION SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Things you should know about Camp!
Age Requirement: Town of New Tecumseth traditional Summer Camp is developed
for children ages 6-12 years old. CIT and LIT programs are designed for Youth 12 to 17
years old looking to develop leadership skills and work toward being a camp counsellor.
Camp Shirts: Camp shirts are mandatory and must be worn ever day to camp. This
will assist in identifying your child as a camper. One free shirt per week will be provided
to registered campers. Additional shirts are available for purchase at Guest Services or
at camp. Please record the shirt size required at time of registration. If your child shows
up to camp without a shirt, a shirt will be given out and full price charged. We appreciate
your cooperation in adhering to this policy for all campers’ safety.
Camp Trips: Scheduled offsite excursions are available at an additional cost. You will
be informed of any excursions at the time of registration. It is the responsibility of the
parent/guardian to find alternate arrangements for the day, if your child does not wish to
attend the scheduled excursion. All Counsellors will be attending the excursion. Camp
will travel by bus. Any planned excursions will be cancelled if registration minimums are
not met. Camp will continue to run as scheduled if excursion is cancelled.
Early Bird Discount: Register on or before June 1st and receive $10 off camp
registration. Early Bird fees do not apply after this date. Register early to save!
Inclusion: If your child requires 1:1 support during their camp day, Inclusion Facilitators
are available to assist at both locations. For more information regarding personal
support at camp, please contact the Program Coordinator as early as possible. Spaces
are limited. Child Information packages must be filled out and returned to the Program
Coordinator well before the start of camp.
Pool Days: Campers will visit the Alliston Rotary Pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
weather permitting. Rain Days will be made up if possible. A facility swim test will be
administered by lifeguards to campers upon their arrival to the pool, as per the Pool
Admission Guidelines. All campers must adhere to these guidelines and all pool rules
and regulations must be followed at all times. Failure to do so will result in missed
pool days. All weak or non-swimmers must wear a lifejacket at all times in the pool
enclosure. Prior to entering pool enclosure, campers will be given a pool pinnie to wear.
Counsellor in Training (CIT)
This will help identify all Campers. Swimming lessons are available to campers in
Camp H20-Museum location. Please contact Guest Services for more information or
to register.
Camp H20: Red Cross Swimming lessons are available as an additional option for
campers at the Museum on the Boyne location. Campers will be escorted to and from
the Alliston Rotary Pool. Lessons run for two consecutive weeks and are available for
Red Cross Swim Levels 1-6. Campers must be registered for two consecutive weeks
in order to qualify for this program and show proof of previous level completion. A swim
assessment can be arranged at the pool to determine suitable level.
Extended Care: Before Care and After Care is available for (Before Care 7:30am9:00am, After Care from 4:00pm-5:30pm). Before and After Care can be combined for
$30/week, $15.00 Before only, $15.00 for After Care only. You must pre-register your
child for extended care. $1.00 per minute will be charged to the account on file for each
addition minute over the designated Extended Care hours. All outstanding balances
pertaining to camp must be cleared prior to registering for next program or camp.

DO NOT BRING: Please leave all personal valuables at home. Toys and electronic
devices (ipod, cell phone etc.) are not permitted during camp time. These items will
remain in the campers backpack if brought to camp. Assistive devices are welcomed to
accommodate any special needs. Please contact Program Coordinator prior to camp
start date if you have any questions.
The CIT program is designed to provide potential staff with an introduction to the structure of camp and various job responsibilities
and expectations. During the first week, CIT’s will participate in team building ad leadership development training as well as
learn about behaviour management strategies and conflict resolution techniques needed to work in a child centered environment.
The second week will see our CIT’s placed in one of our day camps where they will be learning on the job skills as well as being
responsible for running a program. All hours during the week of placement can be used towards the 40 hour high school volunteer
requirements. CIT’s will be able to choose which week they wish to do their volunteer placement as long as it resides in the same
month as their training (e.g Session 1 participant may choose any week and location in July to do their placement). Placements
will be assigned during the training session and are on a first come first served basis.
