Fall Prevention - The majority of resident emergencies involve a fall at home or
somewhere on campus. Some falls are related to medical conditions that are
unpreventable; however, many falls are preventable. We want to help our residents
possibly avoid falls and enjoy independent living that much longer. So, we have
asked Select Rehab to offer monthly therapy interviews with residents who may
experience balance or gait issues. Please Note: Select Rehab will be in the
Specialty Clinic Too on the second Wednesday of each month from 2-3pm
beginning Wednesday, Aug 10, to meet with residents who may have questions
about their mobility.
Health Talk – “The Truth About Cataracts” by Derrick Crabtree, O.D. with
Rashid, Rice, Flynn & Reilly Eye Associates, Friday, Aug 12, 10am, Roadrunner
Lounge. If you plan to attend, please sign up in CC3.

What’s Next Club - Wednesday, Aug 24, 10am, Helen Lemay Room - “What’s
Next Club” is for anyone who may be dealing with a loss, recent or past. Losses
occur at every stage in life, particularly in our later years. The loss of a loved one is
always difficult, as are many other losses that are experienced as we age, such as
emotional, physical, mental and social loss. Don’t forget the loss of vision, hearing
or memory problems; a spouse with dementia or the inability to complete activities
of daily living due to medical issues. All of these losses can cause depression, fear,
anger, guilt and confusion. Our group is here to help you figure out what to do next how to move forward - sometimes just one step at a time. Marla Casanova, RN
guides you to “What’s Next.”
