These words from the renowned Greek philosopher Plato illustrate the core of this year’s FDF theme: Inspire. FDF has inspired generations of commitment to our faith and culture. The diakonia of our youth has inspired the desire to serve others. The youth of our church are an inspiration for the future. I hope and pray that the steps in the dancers’ lives reflect always true strength in faith and proclaim the victorious message of salvation rooted in the living reality of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With my best wishes for a memorable Dance Festival and my prayers that God grant you many more years of being united in love and fellowship, and connected through celebration and song in the shared journey of our precious faith and culture, I remain, With love and esteem in Christ, Plato The 37th Annual Folk Dance and Choral Festival in Anaheim, California promises to be an inspirational weekend where we will celebrate the achievements of each and every dancer and singer who have demonstrated their commitment and love for FDF. People from around the globe have come to be a part of this exceptional ministry and I know that you will welcome them with Christian love. As you enjoy this weekend of faith, dance and fellowship, please keep these words of Saint Paul close to your heart: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity,” I Timothy 4:12. I know this weekend will be filled with the abundant blessings of Our Lord, and that the bonds of friendship and Christian fellowship amongst all those gathered will be strengthened by the love of Jesus Christ. May you always be inspired to serve the Lord with joy and may your commitment to the Orthodox faith and Hellenic culture always emulate His love! With Love in Christ, !
