Troubleshooting your fluid Kitchen Faucet
FAQ - TROUBLE SHOOTING YOUR FLUID KITCHEN FAUCET
On occasion you may find that the flow rate of you kitchen faucet decreases. There are several
possible reasons for this. If there is any debris in your water from city maintenance, or
renovations it can travel down your water pipes to your faucets. This is one of the purposes of the
aerator in the spout of your faucet. It not only aerates and directs water, it also serves as a filter
of sorts to ensure that this debris doesn’t go into your drinking water. As debris collects it can
block the flow of your faucet. Simply remove your aerator and rinse it thoroughly, then replace.
It is also possible, particularly during home repairs or renovations that require turning your water
supply off, to have bits of calcium or even rubber from the integral stop come loose once you turn
the water back on. This debris can accumulate against the flow restrictor inside your faucet and
cause a blockage.
To remove and clean the flow restrictor:
The flow restrictor is positioned inside a collar that connects your flexible faucet hose to the faucet
body, (on the diagram below, inside part #18, by red arrow). The parts will look as shown in
diagram 2.

Back-flow Preventer
Unscrew the connecting collar and remove the green flow restrictor and white back-flow
preventer. Rinse both parts thoroughly and replace, making sure that the back-flow preventer is
positioned as shown in the diagram. This part prevents dirty water from re-entering the fresh
water supply and if you insert it backwards it will shut off all water to the faucet, so it is very
important to replace it in the position indicated above. The green flow restrictor limits your water
flow to the 1.5 GPM required by our Watersense listing. If it is necessary to achieve a higher flow
however, you may remove the green flow restrictor permanently.
