We are also a proud dealer and builder of Versa Tube
steel building systems. VersaTube® Building Systems
was founded in 1994 and is a privately-owned nationally recognized manufacturer of pre-engineered steel
framing components and systems for residential, agricultural, commercial and light industrial building and
shelter applications.
VersaTube® Building Systems brought innovation to the steel tube framing industry, inventing a machined
process known as “swaging” that creates “Slip-Fit” frame connections, allowing steel frame components to
easily fit together without the use of insert tubes. Building frame assembly was dramatically simplified and
construction time was significantly reduced.
VersaTube® Building Systems was named to the 2007 Inc. 5000 — Inc. Magazine’s list of “The Fastest
Growing Private Companies in America” based on revenue growth from 2003 through 2006.

THE VERSATUBE ADVANTAGE
VersaTube® Building Systems designs and manufactures tubular steel framed metal building
packages for residential, agricultural, commercial and light industrial applications.
VersaTube initially developed the concept of a structural framing system incorporating primarily
tubular steel components. The key element was to offer a range of building frame sizes using
®
Colorfast45
prefabricated components that could be easily and efficiently delivered andMS
assembled
on the work
site. This was accomplished by developing and patenting a “swaging” process in which ends of
square and rectangular tubing are reduced in size to slide inside like-sized tubes. These unique
“Slip-Fit” connections allow for relatively small and light frame components to be assembled into a
substantial, structurally sound frame system. And no insert tubes are required.

galvanized, high-strength 14- and 15-gauge steel tubing, combined with triple-layer FLO-COAT
finishing and superior bending methods, provides the customer with a product which is unmatched
in strength and durability. Unlike square or round tubing, the extra wall dimension gives more
resistance to stress failure. The maximum wind and snow loads attainable with the system meet or
exceed building requirements in most areas.

steel framing & engineering
There are many reasons why steel framing represents a superior building material and has quickly
become a smart and feasible alternative to wood frame construction. The unparalleled strength
and durability of steel framing produces a strong, long lasting, maintenance-free structure –
offering greater dimensional stability than wood and resistance to warping, fire, termites, mold/
mildew and general deterioration from weathering. Consider these additional advantages:
Feature
Advantages over Wood & Concrete
Cost Effective
· Virtually no waste – Pre-engineered and cut frame components
· Reduced labor time and associated costs
· Steel framing may lower insurance premiums
Easier To Install
· Patented “Slip Fit” frame connections and erector-set like construction
· Pre-engineered and cut frame components
· Generally simpler to erect than wood systems and requires fewer workers to install
Strong, Durable & Lightweight
· One of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any construction material
· Will never rot, warp, twist, buckle, split, crack, splinter, creep, settle or burn
· Reduced seismic load and probability of damages from earthquakes or high winds
· Can be configured to meet high snow, wind and seismic load specifications
· Easier on-site handling of frame components
Improved Construction Quality
& Less Maintenance
· Manufactured to strict standards of strength and consistency
· Corrosion resistant, dimensionally stable and remains straight and true
· Steel structures do not age or deteriorate like a wood structure
· Stronger connections – Screws do not loosen over time (vs. nails)
Added Safety & Resistance
· Fire resistant – Non-combustible steel frame components
· Impervious to termites, insects, rodents, mold, fungi or other destructive organisms
· Does not require pesticides or other chemicals used to treat wood framing
Design Flexibility/
Easy To Modify
· Multiple frame dimensions for a variety of structures
· Availability of various tubular steel dimensions and thickness
· Greater strength for longer floor spans and higher sidewalls
· Frame components allow for structural expansion or add-ons
Energy Efficient
· Allows for greater insulation values
· Does not expand or contract with humidity changes
· No air leakage caused by expansion cracks as with wood and concrete
Recyclable
· Steel is the most recycled material on Earth and more abundant than wood
· More than 100 billion pounds recycled annually
· Little waste and no trees are sacrificed for framing
STEEL FRAMING & ENGINEERING
Engineered Easy. VersaTube’s unique “Slip-Fit” design and standard frame components
dramatically simplify the installation process. It’s a proprietary and patented swaging
manufacturing process and building framing system developed, engineered, and owned by
VersaTube® Building Systems.
Strong & Durable Steel. VersaTube uses only the highest quality
domestic heavy-duty galvanized steel tubing.
Triple Layer Protection. This triple layer of corrosion protection
– zinc bonding, conversion coating, and clear polymer coating –
provides a smooth, shiny end product appearance that is unmatched
in strength and durability. Salt spray tests prove this triple coat
sealing process resists rust two times longer than any pre-galvanized
or electroplated tubing product. And let’s not forget the obvious
termite and rot resistance advantages over wood.
Smooth Mandrel Bend. VersaTube uses a mandrel bending system for
a cleaner look and a stronger bend transition. Framing systems for most
primary structures and complete packaged kits include frame components
that feature mandrel bends.
Roof Pitch. All VersaTube structures have a standard 3:12 pitch.
Ground Snow & Wind Loads. The VersaTube® framing system and structures are
engineered and configured to address local area ground snow and wind load requirements.
Ground snow PSF (pounds per square foot) and wind velocity & exposure level (MPH @ B or
C exposure) help determine the appropriate size and configuration of a VersaTube building
package.
In most cases, a VersaTube
structure can be customized
to accommodate higher snow
loads (reduced on center
spacing, truss bracing, 26
gauge sheet metal, etc.) and
anchoring can be increased to
address higher wind load levels.
