Hi and welcome to the 2nd edition of ProMAX Motorsport’s
monthly newsletter. A lot’s been happening during the last
month. We’ve installed a new state of the art 4 poster drive
on lift ramp at the Brackley Performance & Service Centre.
ProMAX Motorsport have also become an authorised Super
Dealer for Veloce wheels - see the wheels page further on!
We’ve introduced a new ‘install and use’ MAF kit for 911 3.2
Carrera and 964 C2/C4 models. This exciting new product
provides 12% more power and greatly improved drivability
for these models providing air metering and tractability that
is on a par with current Porsche models. We’ve also
introduced the 944 Turbo MAF kit to the USA market too. We
look forward to being of continued service during 2006!

INTERIM 70: Interim 70 service is an oil change service with a 70 point check. If any items needing attention are
identified during the course of the 70 point check, you will be informed prior to collection.
COURTESY CAR: We offer a courtesy car to all customers over 25 with clean driving licence. Depending on the
assessed risk, we may impose an £18.00 a day surcharge on the use of the courtesy car (to cover insurance).
Courtesy cars include the Holden HSV GTS (V8 with 350bhp), Porsche 944 Turbo (2.5 Litre Turbo 250bhp), Audi A4
2.8 (170bhp) and the Peugeot 307 (1.6 110bhp). All cars are subject to availability and will be allocated as such. All
users of courtesy cars will be required to sign an indemnity and usage agreement. Cars must be returned with full tank
of fuel (garage at top of Northampton Road).
SERVICE PRICES: All service prices include labour, oils, filters and sundries required to perform the correct service to
the manufacturers specification. Prices subject to change without notice. Prices include VAT.
DIAGNOSTICS: Porsche PST2 diagnostics are used on all models and are a necessary part of the service schedule for
most Porsche models. PST2 will diagnose all Porsche models to 2004 (exc. 987 and 997).
MODELS COVERED: All porsche models can be serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidelines including the
Porsche Boxster (all 986 and 986 facelift models) and all 996 (all 3.4, 3.6 and Turbo, GT3, GT3 Mk2 and GT2). We
also can service and perform full diagnostics on Porsche Cayenne Models.

The Veloce 3.6 is the first in a new and exciting range of Classic Wheel
Designs now available from ProMAX Motorsport.
The Veloce range will take the classic 3 piece designs and re- invent them in
one piece formats, making the range easily affordable and representing
great value for money for our customers.
The range will start with traditional designs with the Modern Designs to
follow. Check for the next designs in the Veloce range soon!
This easy fitment wheel has been designed to fit across all Porsche models
fitted with ABS as a direct fitment, 944S2, 928, 964, 965 and 993 through
to Boxster and 996.
Early models SC, 3.2, 930 turbo1 and early 944 will require wheel spacers,
which we will be pleased to advise you on.
The Veloce range of wheels are 3 piece "look" meaning they are Monobloc
Wheels which appear to be "TRUE 3 Piece wheels". The appearance is further
enhanced by using full bolts on the "Split rim". They also take the O.E.
Porsche size center caps.
These exciting new wheels are very competitively priced at just £995.00 +

Often lubricants have a service life of only 3,000 miles due to oxidation which reduces oil's

This MAF kit is different - it simply installs and you drive! No
fuel controllers, no adjustments - just perfect drivability;
reduced lag and more power and performance. Not only will
your car be faster, it will drive more smoothly and have far
better road manners.
If you have a stock 951, you do not need to make any
changes to your car when you fit this MAF kit. Your KLR
computer controls boost and your boost will not fall off so
readily with the MAF kit installed. You do not need to make
any changes to compensate for the greatly increased airflow. This is all handled by the KLR computer and the MAF
signal processing electronics.
944S/S2 and 911 Kits are total plug and play. You just install
and go (with the 911, you must use the supplied EPROM to
ensure you have correct AFR at Wide Open Throttle).
On the 951, if you want to run more boost, no problem - just use our specially developed MAF DME and KLR chips (still
utilising full electronic boost control) and run to the KLR limit of 1.0 bar. This will give most cars 300bhp (265 rwhp). If
you are running chips that do not use the KLR and have manual boost control - you may need to make adjustments to
your maximum boost setting (as it will increase with the MAF fitted). Alternatively, scale up the values on your DME
WOT (Wide Open Throttle) map. We can also supply suitable DME chips (for Manual Boost Control equipped cars) for
standard injectors and 55# Siemens injectors.

CHIPS
The ProMAX Performance chips for all Porsche models using Bosch Motronic
(1984 - 1995) have been extensively developed to provide not only a power
increase, but also improved smoother running. All flat spots and anomalies
have been engineered out of the original compromise chip (ECU EPROM). To
ensure that emissions are not effected, changes beneath 2,500 rpm are
minimal. The timing curve on these chips is substantially smoother than the
original with the often pronounced step in the mid-range made more
progressive.
Power gains at the top end are between 7-15%. Power increases of up to
18% have been recorded on cars fitted with a cone type air filter and free
flowing exhaust (with cat bypass). Prices from £99.95.
How can performance be so easily improved? Why didn't Porsche build this
performance into the car to begin with? There are many reasons for this.
Some cars are deliberately kept in a lower state of tune so as not to get too
close to the performance of other models (i.e. marketing reasons). Other
reasons included ensuring the car could use low octane fuel and survive a
few missed services.
If you are prepared to use 98 octane fuel (not essential, but best to get the
maximum performance) - you can enjoy the performance that your car is
actually capable of. Power gains are anything from 10-25bhp (often more)
with torque gains of 14-30lbft. NOTE: All power and torque gains are
dependent on your car's current engine condition, modifications and
induction system. Power gains can not be guaranteed. Turbo charged
cars will liberate much more than normally aspirated because the
boost can be increased.
For the later cars (Boxster, 996, 997, Cayenne) we utilise an OBD11 Serial
Port Programmer to read off the specific fuel and ignition maps. Modified
maps are then uploaded using this device to avoid compromising your cars
other software. The handheld re-map system is then left with the customer
to change between the stored standard and performance maps whenever
they choose!
All the same principles deployed via our Performance chips are used in remapping the software for your later Porsche model. Prices from £929.95
for Boxster/996.
Coming soon! Turbo Diesel performance programming. Starting with the
VW PD engines we will shortly be introducing upgrades to owners of Turbo
Diesel cars. This will be a drive in / drive out service offered at the Brackley
Performance & Service Centre. Prices wil be from £395.00 inc. And gains of
up to +50bhp and 60lbft have already been achieved with the 150bhp Golf
TD. So, if your daily driver is a VW/Skoda/Seat or Audi PD Turbo Diesel you’re in for a treat real soon!
