If you read this story as a novel, you’d think it was far-fetched.
In 100 days Napoleon recovers France; wins two battles then loses it
all at the third. Wellington and Blücher march on Paris and the
Napoleonic Wars are finally over. The Napoleonic legend is about to
flower and think of the consequences of that! The settlement of these
wars lasted Europe for almost 100 years – exhaustion or
statesmanship? Military history is the one from which we ought to be
able to learn tangible lessons – do we?
We will look at three magnificently larger than life main characters but
see the whole thing in context.
