Summer Reading
Program
June 1 – Aug. 15
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The Rubber Ducky Club –
For Infants through 35-month-olds:
Babies are born ready to read, and parents, grandparents
and caregivers have an important role as baby’s first
teachers. Babies and toddlers love to hear their caregiver’s
voice, and reading together is a great way to spend time
bonding. Reading to a child also promotes listening,
memory and vocabulary skills, language development as
well as stimulates the imagination and instills a love of
books and learning. The Rubber Ducky Club is the perfect
opportunity for caregivers to get into the habit of reading
with their child, have fun and learn new ways to encourage
early literacy.
• The Summer Reading Program is open to all, no library card is required.
• Beginning Monday, June 1, caregivers can get their children started on this pre-reader program by picking up a log from Naperville Public Library or printing one from our website: naperville.READsquared.com
• Each child can complete a Rubber Ducky reading log with 12 suggested early literacy activities.
• After completing these activities together, the child will be eligible for incentive prizes.
• The last day to complete a reading log and receive prizes is Aug. 15.
