Club Officers: President Ken Scott President’s Message Greetings Coastal Carolina Corvette Club members and welcome to the month of November. We as a club had our last car show on a warm, but beautiful day in Mt. Pleasant and our oyster roast sponsored by Roger and Kitsie King's at their residence. Both Activities events had a great turn out with club members and a big thank you for everybody's participation. Kim Sheldon I would like to take the time and put out that if any club member wishes to apply for one of the three appointed positions with our club, please send me an email by December 31, 2015. The following three appointed positions are the newsletter editor, VP – Social logistics coordinator, and web master. My email address is as follows: [email protected]. I think the only other show this year with greater club car attendance was Vettes Doin Charleston. We had 31 club cars showcased. A special thank you to all our club workers yesterday. The weather was great and the turnout was wonderful. There were 81 participants at the show yesterday with representation in all 13 classes. The show was a huge success for the club and our charity. Year -­‐ end statistics and awards for club cars from all our shows in 2015 will be distributed at our January 2016 club meeting. Thanks again to everyone for your commitment and support to our club activities throughout 2015. November 7, 1969: The 250,000th Corvette ( a Riverside Gold convertible) rolls off the assembly line. •
November 1992: Dave Hill, an engineer in General Motors' Cadillac program, accepts a job offer to become Corvette Chief Engineer. •
November 2, 1999: Chevrolet announces that it will enter a C5R Corvette race car at the 68th annual 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 2000. MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY & CLUB BYLAWS: Club Bylaws are available on the website and a hard copy is available at the monthly business meetings. REMINDERS •
October opens the 2016 membership year. Dues are renewable for all members returning for the 2016 year. Membership dues are $30 single membership and $40 dual membership and are due by the January meeting. •
Renewals received after the January meeting will be assessed the reinstatement fee of $10 in addition to the renewal fee. (Members who join after 10/1/15 are paid for the 2016 membership year). Renewal forms are required for all members, they can be found on our website or at meetings. You may bring your renewal form and fee to any meeting or mail them to the VP of Membership at the address on the form. BY-­‐LAW REVISION PROPOSAL A revision to the by-­‐laws has been submitted. As per the by-­‐laws this is notification to all members of the proposal. This will be discussed at the December meeting and voted on by the membership at the January meeting. Please contact any member of the current Executive Committee if you have any questions. Addition of the following to Article I, it will be a new section, Section III The Club is registered as 501(c)(4) non-­‐profit organization. Monies generated from Club car shows will be directed to local charitable organizations that are exempt from Federal funding. Charities will be selected and voted on by Club members in Good Standing at the beginning of each year, or chosen by the sponsor of the car show. Proceeds generated from the Vettes Doin Charleston show will be directed to the National Corvette Museum. The Executive Committee will forecast annual operating expenses to ensure funds are available prior to any charity donation. VP Of Membership, Christine Van Leir 4

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS – Kim Sheldon For our last show of the season, we had 30 club cars make their way to Mount Pleasant for our Holiday Show sponsored by Royall Ace Hardware. This was our largest club showing since Vette’s doin Charleston. There were 80 participants at the show making it our largest Super Saturday Show of the season. Our show participants seemed to like the early model Vette’s again with 6 of the top “7” being a C1, C2 or C3! Congratulations to Bill & Regina Johnson and their 63 Split Window Coupe for taking first place, John & Barbara Ditmore and their 1962 Convertible finished second, and Dennis & Kathy Smail and their 65 Convertible rounded out the top three. NOVEMBER MEETING MINUTES – Liz Furmanek
The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Ken Scott, President. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and a moment of silence held. New members, Kris and Sherri Cumbee (65 red coupe) introduced themselves and Thia Beniash (photographer friend of Tim Hayden) shared car photos that she had taken and discussed photo opportunities and contact information for interested members. Jackie Holst, VP of Charity and Public Relations, reintroduced guest, Cole Sabine, to the club and indicated that he would be selling his dog biscuits at the upcoming Royall Hardware show with all proceeds going to the charity East Cooper Meals on Wheels. There was not a representative from “Pet Helpers” present to receive a check for monies collected at the October show. Jim Buckley, Treasurer, gave the Treasurer’s report. Christine Van Leir, VP of Membership, gave the membership report. Christine reminded members that membership renewals are due and fees must be in by the January meeting. She also acknowledged that Charles Abetz and Barbara Stothard were married in September. Kim Sheldon, VP of Competition, thanked members for all their help throughout the year. She reported that the last car show will be the Royall Hardware show at Waterfront Park. Del Davids, Board Member and Logistics Coordinator, indicated that there were enough door prizes for the show. Members applauded Kim for her service this year as she is taking a break from holding a club office for the 2016 year. Kris Daugherty, VP of Social, reported that the club Xmas party will be at the Charleston Air Force Base on December 5th and shared the menu to be served. She reminded members, without military identification, to enter the base at the Dorchester Road gate. The oyster roast at Roger and Kitsie King’s home on Edisto Island is planned for November 14th. Members were reminded to bring food sides, chairs and bug repellant. Upcoming social events for the 2016 year are as follows: January 16th the chili cook-­‐off at Tim and Debbie Hayden’s home; February 20th a cruise to Lands End restaurant in Georgetown; March (date TBD) bowling at Royal Lanes and dinner afterwards in Goose Creek; April (TBD) dinner following the Trident “Spin-­‐off” car show. Paula Jones, NCM Ambassador, reported on museum events and raffles and the legal battle over the Motorsports Park. There was no website report. Jim Furmanek, Board Member, updated members on testing of the C7R cars. New Business: Ken reported that the Executive Committee had met prior to the business meeting and had discussed by-­‐law amendments, website changes, 2016 calendar dates, purchase of a new registration table canopy, and the trailer storage. Del asked for a vote on the sale of excess sign frames and cones. The motion was passed. Ken reminded members that anyone interested in the appointed positions: Webmaster, Newsletter Editor, and Logistics Coordinator should contact him by December 31st. He also indicated that the VP of Competition position was still vacant and encouraged club members to assist the Board members in putting on upcoming 2016 car shows. Barbara Ditmore informed club members that the Mt. Pleasant Christmas Parade is December 13th. We will be able to enter 10 cars. Barbara reminded members that cars must have decorative lights. The first ten respondents to email her will participate. The 50/50 raffle was won by Eddie Hamner. The meeting was adjourned at 3:57 pm. Liz Furmanek 9
