OUR ORIGIN AND FIRST STEP
Cosmoproject was founded in 1993 in Parma, a city internationally well
known for its culture, art and food tradition, but also as a place for the
fragrances.
The perfume industry that began in the 1800s was to create the favorite
perfume of Napoleon Bonaparte’s consort, Marie Louise of Austria: the
famous Parma Violet. From then on, the city became ubiquitously known
as the little perfume capital.

R&D DEPARTMENT

R&D Department that employs

FORMULATION STRATEGIES AND EVALUTIONS IN USE

REGULATORY AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT
A KEY ROLE IN GUIDING COSMETIC PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
The Regulatory Affairs Department
of Cosmoproject ensures that the
company and customer comply
with all of the regulations and laws
concerning their business.
The Regulatory Affairs Department
is an important part of our organisational structure of the company.
Internally it liaises at the interphase of product development, manufacturing, marketing and clinical
research. Externally it is the key interface between the company and
the regulatory authorities.
Our Regulatory Affairs Dept. is involved in the development of new
cosmetic products from early on,
by integrating regulatory principles
and by preparing and submitting
the relevant regulatory dossiers to
health authorities.
Regulatory Affairs team plays a key
role in guiding cosmetic product
development strategy
playing
an important operational role, for
example, by considering the best
processes to follow and enabling
structured interaction with regulatory authorities. Our team is driven
by good science and accordingly
nothing remains static.
Development targets and key
claims have to be reviewed and
adapted to regulatory guidelines
and regulations. They develop the
regulatory strategy, arrange agency meetings, prepare and compile
the questions and briefing documents; they attend the meetings
and manage all communication
with the agencies.
Cosmoproject offers a comprehensive and competent consulting to ensure the proper ap-
plication of the technical and legal
aspects, our regulatory affair departmente takes charge of drawing
up the PIF (Product Information
File) with the relevant Security
as well as the assessment and
drafting of export documents.
Since the regulatory environment is
constantly changing, the regulatory
team provides advice on necessary
adaptations to development plans
and target product profiles.

RAW MATERIAL DEPARTMENT

How many ingredients can a single product contain? To avoid any
chance of error the Raw Material
Department fulfils its production
plans through a sophisticated
computer system which works on
radio frequencies and interacts
with the company’s mainframe.
A really special raw material:
DEIONIZED SANITIZED WATER.
Let’s start from the raw materials.
Their selection, their assessment,
the application in the new formula, the tests in use and so on
down to their final destination in
the most innovative products.
However each raw material passes through careful checks before
being accepted and go into production; a dedicated laboratory
analyzes the correspondences to
the chemical and physical parameters, the organoleptic, microbiological aspects and all guarantees to build the perfect product.

The water we use is our pride and
joy since it is completely deionized
by an inverse osmosis plant made
perfectly sterile by a UV radiation
system.
We select raw materials
and develop formulations,

improve the economic value
of a cosmetic product, but
also the ecological and social

THE BULK PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
GIVING SHAPE TO IDEAS
The product has been formulated,
the ingredients selected, and here
at last in the Bulk Production Department all is ready for the actual
birth.
A wide range of homogenizers
and mixers machines turn out products that are structurally different.
No need to speak about aromas,
textures and the compelling nature of our products, which are there
for all to behold.
Instead we will speak of the AISI
316 steel plant to transport deionized water, the network of outlet
grills for the washing and sanitization of the plants in addition to
an exceptional production capacity, made flawless by Bulk Quality
Control.
FILLING AND PACKING DEPARTMENT
FROM THE CONTENT TO THE PACKAGING
At this point we’ve almost finished; the product only needs to
be filled and packaged.
How? Let’s start from the filling.
The lines feature single ink-jet
coding, labelling and sleeving machines.
While for packing we have boxing,
bundling, cellophaning and coding machines to meet any need.

A “HOLISTIC” SUSTAINABILITY
Cosmoproject’s philosophy supports a “holistic” sustainability, which includes environment, health and safety of workers, quality of processes and
products.
The eco-friendly awareness and environmental protection is an integral part
of our industrial policy: business development and environmental sustainability are essential to one other.
Our “Ecological consciousness” has addressed the entire organization to
keep improving investements in new expansion plant engineering technologies.

consumption
The investments made to
save energy have achieved
a reduction in energy consumption despite the increase
in production volumes.
We drastically reduced energy consumption, we installed 250 photovoltaic panels
in 2014 and we are installing a new implant three
times higher (150 kW) in
the area which we are now
expanding.
Waste
Emissions
The company’s policy has
been effective in increasing
levels of recyclable waste,
even though there has been
a moderate increase in waste generation overall due to
increased production.
With regard to air quality,
atmospheric emissions are
moderate and are mainly
due to the natural gas boilers which produce steam.
We are managing waste by
diminishing processing waste and stimulating separate
waste collection.
We are reducing emissions
into the atmosphere.

Resources
We purify all our water carefully,
because we believe that a serious
company can also be recognized
by its attitude to the environment.
We pay great attention to the
natural environment that its surrounding.
Consequently, our biological purification plant has a capacity sufficient for 2.500 inhabitants/equivalent, and allows us to discharge
surface water with Chemical
Oxygen Demand values that are
always in compliance with the regulations, or even better.
The volume of supply and discharge water resources has decreased over the past few years
thanks to constant controls on
water resources.
Specific plans are been scheduled to continue improving our
performance in this aspect.

COSMETIC, an international and exclusive event in Milano to
discuss and display on one of the most captivating and engaging
aspects of a product formulation: sensory evaluation.
The Seminary, whose relator is our Research & Development Manager regarded: “Sensory cosmetics: formulation strategies and
evaluations in use.”
It is also Published on TEKNOSCIENCE, an international magazine
for industry.
We have been selected among the best and important players in the
international contract manufacturing in Made in Italy fields attending
Cosmopack 2016. We participated in the “2016 Cosmopack Cream
Factory”, an annual live exhibition of the industrial process for the for
the production of the best made in Italy with a true technological
revolution.
2016’s edition will present “Cosmopack Optimoist Perfectionist Serum”, showcasing the technically advanced production of one of our
best seller Serum.
Thanks to the increased use of modern production processes in the
Cream Factory, the serum will be produced with reduced emissions
of CO2 and will comply with ISO 22716 GMP for “good manufacturing practices.”
