HAPPY NEW YEAR from your alumni office! We hope 2011 brings happiness
and blessings to you and your family.
We begin 2011 with the excitement of ODU Centennial, which is seen in every
campus activity. Be sure to check the website often for event news and make
plans to attend. Two fabulous alumni trips are planned - the Canyon Lands trip
in June and the Wine Country trip in September. Alumni and their friends are
welcome. Details are available on ODU's website. Alums from Central Ohio
can attend an Information Gathering at Vino 100 on January 21st and sample
wine and food pairings from these regions. See the information box at the end
of this newsletter for details and to RSVP.
Mark your calendars for ODU Night March 6th as we travel to Cleveland to
watch the Cavaliers play the New Orleans Hornets. The evening starts at 5
p.m. with an alumni reception, including dinner and beverages at Quicken
Loans Arena followed by great basketball. Seats are limited so order today.

Weekend.
Welcome New Alumni!
On December 18th, 468 students received their diplomas completing this
chapter in their education and becoming ODU alums! Nearly 200 grads
attended the reception held in the "Griff" on December 16th to celebrate their
achievements and to welcome them into the ODU Alumni Association. This
group of graduates comprises 32 students receiving Associate degrees, 160
Bachelor's recipients, and 277 grads receiving Master's degrees.

Dominican University community
celebrated the Inauguration of
Peter Cimbolic, Ph.D. as the
institution’s 15th President on
Thursday, December 2, 2010.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni,
the Cimbolic family and friends
attended the Inaugural Mass at
St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Columbus, the Installation Ceremony in
Alumni Hall on main campus and a community reception in the Bishop James
A. Griffin Student Center.
Saint Mary of the Springs Alumni Reunion 2011
All Saint Mary of the Springs alumni are invited to the Saint Mary of the
Springs Alumni Reunion in our Centennial year. The graduates from the class
years of 1931, 1936, 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956, 1961 and 1966 will be honored.
The institution will induct women from the class of 1961 into the Golden Flame
Society to mark their 50th reunion.
Save the dates of June 24-26, 2011 and gather with friends, new and old.

The Green Assets Advance in Accounting Competition
Thank you to all ODU alums who cast a vote in support of ODU accounting
students competing in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA) 2010 Accounting Competition. The Green Assets team is one of the top
three finalists going to New York City on Jan. 19th to compete against the
University of Texas and the University of Tennessee.
ODU was the only institution in the competition with two teams in the top 10,
The Green Assets and Greening the GAAP. The competition challenged
students with the task of applying their accounting and sustainability smarts to
solve a real-world business problem for an actual client.

Investment Seminars
ODU’s Division of Business, in conjunction with Merrill Lynch, invites alumni,
faculty, and students to participate in monthly seminars. These informational
sessions are held on campus and cover a variety of investment topics. The
