◇ Greetings
Daitec launched its business in 1969 as a small company, or what we call a venture company nowadays. It was in
the 1960s when big firms started implementing computers for
their business operation, which boosted the management
innovation.
We were then committed to apply the management improvement to small and medium enterprises, and to begin with,
the company started developing the POS system for sales of
oil as a primary target. We also opened information processing hubs for the POS system throughout the country, and in
1980 we formed a business tie-up with Nippon Oil. Today, our
POS system for sales of oil dominates the industry providing
thousands of customers with information applying telecommunication lines and IT terminals.
In the late 1980s, the IT industry became flooded with
the diffusion of personal computers and influx of internet. As a
step following the POS system for sales of oil, Daitec succeeded in development of the CAD system for construction
facility businesses, and started providing the system to the
construction facility industry that handles electric, ventilating,
and water supply and drainage constructions. Total sales of
the CAD system for construction facility businesses, which
has been labeled as the best selling intelligent CAD, have
exceeded 100 thousand units and we are proud to have been
contributing to the industry’s innovation.
Today, a variety of technology, idea and hardware are
produced in the field of IT. At Daitec, we have formed a project
team to make a development in the third industry, create new
businesses, and to achieve constant growth through promotion of our customers’ benefit.

◇ Outline of the Daitec Group
The Daitec Group, under the umbrella of the Daitec
Holding, is formed by the following companies: Daitec, the
top-of-the-market company in CAD for construction facility
businesses; Daitec Solution that is into development and
operation of the POS systems for ENEOS, and Music Ventures that operates the “NAGOYA Blue Note”, and the related
company, Fukui Computer. An overall business operation of
the entire group can be found in the figure below.
The Daitec Group is also the founder of “The Hori Sciences and Arts Foundation” which has granted a total of 710
million yen research subsidy to around 700 researchers ever
since its foundation, thus providing support to scientists and
artists for over 20 years.

The group registered its shares for the over-the-counter trading at
JASDAQ in June 1995 to go public. After 11 years in June 2006, the
company took its decision to go back to be unlisted which was part of
streamlining the business and to enable speedy management decision
making. A month later in July, Daitec founded the Daitec Holding to take
control over the management of the group companies. There was a
reorganization of business in October 2009, in which achieved the Daitec
Solution assuming charge of the SS-POS system to become
independent from Daitec. This led the establishment of the two-company
system of CAD and POS, and to date, Daitec Holding takes charge of
the business management of the two companies.
While we are engaged into business management of the entire
group, our business also expands to the field of digital printing and real
estate.
In the digital printing business, we offer on-demand printing,
publishing, and bookbinding services, enabling cost cut even for small
amount of printing and bookbinding.
Major real estate businesses of the Daitec Holding are the rental
services of conference rooms at the Daitec Sakae Building in Sakae, and
the rental office business at “U.S-SOHO Fushimi” in Fushimi, both in
Naka-ku, Nagoya City.
In October 2010, the company acquired 42% share of Fukui
Computer Inc. (Securities code 9790, first section of the Tokyo Stock
Exchange) through TOB. Being the largest shareholder, the Daitec
Holding intends to exert the capital and business partnership effect
through joint research and development of products, mutual business
support, and exchange of human resources.

We opened the “NAGOYA Blue
Note” a New York born jazz live house in
November 2002. Since its opening,
more than 1,500 artist groups have
performed on stage with a total of over
550 thousand spectators. The NAGOYA
Blue Note offers a luxury entertainment
space where artists and audience blend together.
Other than the ordinary live performances, it offers renting services
of the stage and audience seats, and also an original wedding ceremony
event limiting to one couple a day. Audience can indulge in music and
food with the same stage as the artists under a top-class audio and
lighting system with various performances.

The Hori Sciences and Arts Foundation is a nonprofit public-interest
corporation which was founded for social contribution by the Daitec
Group and the personal fortune of the founder Makoto Hori in 1991. On
September 1, 2010 it was certified as public interest incorporated foundation by Aichi Prefecture thus changed its name to Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, The Hori Sciences and Arts Foundation.

The Hori Art Museum, with art collection of the Daitec Group and
Makoto Hori, founder of Daitec became open to the public in June 2006.

◇ Business Outline of the Daitec Group
○ Sales and marketing
We have 9 business branches (Hokkaido, Tohoku, Tokyo, Chubu,
Hokuriku, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu) across the country
engaged into sales and marketing. The CAD department promotes IT of
the construction industry by making proposals and sales of the CAD
software, mainly focusing on the CADWe’ll Tfas series to all kind of
companies from major construction companies and subcontractors to
local small and medium facility companies. We have changed our marketing approach from April 2010 with new types of selling method including the sale of 5-year right of use, renting services, network license,
and the WebCADD.com that allows use of software through internet
access on per-time charging. Customers can reach to our products
according to their needs through our latest selling methods.
The POS department proposes and enhances use of the system
in managing sales, collecting sales proceeds, and gathering customer
information for sales of oil. We offer implementation of the latest system
to our existing customers based on their current usage and needs, while
for new clients, we start from making presentations and proposals of the
system. In both CAD and SS-POS business, we make direct sales to
our customers and do not use business agents. The sales and management department checks customer satisfaction, needs and request
and provides the software development department with feedback in
order to come up with a competitive software product.
○ Technology
The Technology Development Centers in Nagoya and Sapporo
are engaged in software development. The CAD department creates
the concept for new products based on the accumulated knowledge and
skills for development and market investigation, and develops the cutting-edge high functional CAD software. Currently our product is
equipped with 3D function that allows creation of design and construction drawings, presentation to construction client, thus conserving space
originally needed for machine and equipment. We correspond to various
customer needs.
The company encompasses investigation of customer need, designing, and up to development, in short, the whole supply chain of
software development and sales. No personnel dispatch or subcontracting of software production is done in our business line.

○ Support
Both the CAD and POS departments have a call center to correspond with customer enquiries on use and function of the software
products. We do not just only answer to customer queries, but also
gather customer needs and information as the frontline of the company,
analyze the information obtained that could related to a new development concept, and give feedback to the product development divisions.
At the CAD department, we provide CAD training opportunities to
customers as part of the after sales service.
○ Data center
Every day, the IDC (internet data center) processes data sent from
the 4,500 SSs throughout the nation. With its latest server groups
equipped, it offers high-tech information security with in-house power
generation in case of power outage and other fully prepared facility
against disaster management for earthquakes. It also offers the cloud
computing service to support efficient network environment including the
server housing for clients as a corporate data center。
○ Management and planning
The management and planning department is under the Daitec
Holding and handles administrative matters, human resources, accounting, finance, and corporate planning of the entire group. It is a
group of professionals in administration and management that controls
the budget, monthly accounting closing, management analysis, employment activities, and staff training to back up the Daitec Group.
