Introduction
Halus melakar tegar mereka
Irama warna menarikan rupa
Identiti tersendiri di bumi Malaya
Mekar seni digital nan indah bergaya
I write poems as an outlet to express my emotions from love, sorrow, grief, happiness, joy, or my opinions that
I render quite ambiguously and some, straightforward. I am a fan of Jalaluddin Rumi and Omar Khayyam. I’m
always astonish by the depth of Rumi’s works.
Being a long-time ‘devotee’ of Neo soul, I ‘revived’ my passion in writing right after I discovered Def Poetry
Jam on YouTube and heard in town that we have our very own Poetry Slam movement lead by Elaine Foster.
There I met more talented and astounding poets and spoken word artists like Sheena Baharudin, Jamal Raslan
and ‘Rose’. Even my sister, Abby is a part of this beautiful cycle.
In late 2011, I had the privilege to meet and consult some of my Malay poetry works with the humble and
renowned Malaysian poet, writer and artist, Dr. Siti Zainon Ismail whom I now often address as ‘bonda’
(mother). She taught me how I could empower myself through poetry and encouraged me to keep writing and
discovering knowledge of writing. I soon began to re-study and raptured by the legendary collective of poets,
visual artists and writers from Malaysia, ‘Anak Alam’. Each and every one of them have diversity not only in
writing and arts but carry such charisma. From learning the works of arwahyarham Yasmin Ahmad to reading
works of Siti Zainon, Mustapa Haji Ibrahim and Pak Latiff (Latiff Mohidin), these great personalities have
Recently I’m more opened to seeing new perspectives in writing and learning how to write. Before knowing
the art of spoken words, I found myself rather stereotype to keep my poetry structured to certain format but
the more I learn, the more I clearly understand about writing poetry. I have to admit there’s still a long way to
improve myself so do forgive me if you encounter any of my works that would be inconvenient. I hope this
ebook will inspire readers about my life through visual story telling and poetry either imaginative or explicitly
stated through life experience.
Visit me in the autumn and spring,
Because that’s where I will be waiting
- for the fallen leaves,
There I shall dance and smile again,
Alone yet content.

Flash Fiction
A Man Who Draws the Blues
Once upon a time, there lived a man in a country far away in the
kingdom of the richest and famous. He was an artist who loves to
draw, paint, dance, write poetry and he was loved. In his early days
of uncertainties, he struggled through hardship and despair. His life
was complex, from being the black sheep of the society, to rejection
of real affections in relationships. He is devastated. But still he
keeps the light of hope.
He then emerged through inspiration of wisdom from everyone
around him. Through maturity, he found forgiveness, humility, and
made peace with himself and found salvation. He begins accepting
his imperfection and started flowering his life with artistry and
creativity. Those cloudy days fade out and he began to see sunshine,
so beautiful and alluring, he swept into tears of joy.
He surrenders to serenity of The One Al Mighty Lord. A broken
heart is healed and one day, when the birds fly free, he shall find his
kingdom of sanctuary and there, he will meet the Divine.

English Poetry
Finding Myself — Trying To Be Me
Paper dolls glittering flakes shines flawlessly,
As I pour this tea for the lady to feel like a family,
A little dream of hope to become a celebrity,
Life changed to darkness as it wasn’t sincerity.
Step into the institution walking in illusion,
Feeling frustration I temper without direction,
We break culture that somehow must pretend,
Imitating a system which we have no clear stand.
In us grow such rebel till we become a label,
Calling names and fags virtually we seek survival,
We became mellow slowly reaching for an identity,
With thigh clothes and fab thangs’ to accept comfortability.
I was raise in a culture of none sustainability,
Trying to see if I can fit in later felt transparency,
When I start to see they accept me miserably,
Alter myself for the sake of their mentality.
When I start to change they backfire,
When I start to evolve they think I’m a banshee,
When I start to be carefree they hated me,
When I start to be me, they still abandon me.
I fall deep without knowing what’s beneath me,
Suddenly a light full of life shine upon me,
Felt hope molding this gender,
So strong my soul grows fonder.
I open to distinguish things clearly,
I vacate myself to enable purity,
I began to listen to the beats of bravery,
Back on my feet I walk in integrity.

Here in
My Heart
You made my soul running so carefree,
You let me understand the beauty of relationship,
Although our relationship is on the world’s suicidal cliff,
You and I take this chance to let love flow in sincerity.
I never find the one that is true as much as you,
Because all of my life waited too long for this,
For you to come and bring sunshine in me,
Someone who can’t leave without.
Truthfully, never I felt so complete,
So blessed and grateful to have someone like you,
To hear you say ‘I Love You’ constantly makes me happy,
Here in my heart I devote this partnership for life.

Unintentionally I don’t see the lust in me
Intentionally I want to seek you
Unintentionally my love for you grows within me
Intentionally I want to show

Unintentionally I fear rejection from you
Intentionally I want to talk to you

A Heart That Speak
Was that brown eyes that caught my heart?
Was the smile mesmerizing my mind?
The elongated conversation we both had,
So tremendous as we get closer every moment.
Your kiss was so sweet,
tender caressing the lips,
Make me fall deep in ecstasy.
Could it be another fiction from a movie?
Should I neglect the delusion here in my heart?
and pass this precious moment of time?
Shall I deem to find the truth?
Or it will forever fade before the sunshine.

Swollen Soul
Every grass and soil that I walk,
Keeps me going around unwanted circle,
The direction now seems so unclear,
Cloud my eyes with insecurity.
You once touch me with tenderness,
Now left is just sorrow and disagreement,
With this body becoming more bitter,
You seek and reach others balmy.
At night I stare into your starry face,
Without realize you let time consume us,
Where were you when I needed you?
Why did I stay and still hope?
Through those black clouds in the air,
Shower thousands of misery and soreness,
I shed tears because my endeavor collapses,
Through such odd I risk this forbidden affair.
The red tides are raising high towards me,
For each seconds eating my solitary,
Condemned and dismissed from dreams,
Put me in such damage and clueless.
Hence here I am in this vacant field of hope,
Waiting in the shadows so my heart would untie,
Love become so dishonest and unfair,
As I look upon myself how a life can be so despair.

Someday
Monday
I made you hot dog and scramble eggs
Got the pitch today and you wish me well
We had Salmon Teppanyaki for dinner it was great
Tuesday
I made you baked potatoes with broccoli and chicken salad
We watch ‘Lady Sings the Blues’ and I leaned on you
We had wine and you hold my hand gently you kissed me
Wednesday
I called you that afternoon to tell that we won the pitch
We had lunch at a local restaurant and I had ‘Chicken in a bag’
We went to the store you bought me a shirt
Thursday,
I made you a pancake with butter and honey
Went to park for a walk while listening to ‘Kissing You’
We went to Jazz club at night to watch a friend perform
I had Sunset Boulevard so wonderful just like your smile
Friday
I prayed. We went out for a dinner
You played Billie Holiday in the car
We stared at the moon
Saturday
Wasn’t feeling well; you brought me soup and took care of me
Can’t even count the ways I felt for you
Grateful to God to have someone like you
So I wrote you a poem
Sunday
We went for a morning walk, a sandwich and tea
We stayed home and watch ‘FRIENDS’ and ‘The Nanny’
I laughed joyfully
Monday
I went to work
My heart starts to fail, it stops beating
I stop loving you and rest silently
I wish I could tell you one more time that I love you
But God knows that you and i know

When I’m Gone
When you have knowledge,
Share it to the world,
When you have a talent,
Flaunt it but don’t abuse it.
When you left nothing to inspire,
Look at my beautiful creation of arts,
When you lost your ways,
Don’t give up and be strong just like I do.
When you can’t find affections,
Recreate it and share with others,
When you are happy,
Call your loved ones and family.
When you fail, stand up and seek the light,
Give others chances so you can find generosity,
Rejoice yourself with happiness,
And say thanks to those who help shape your way.
When you loose everyone around you,
Hold nothing but your faith,
When you lost everything,
Regain more by doing wonderful things in life.
When I’m gone, pray for my serenity,
When you miss me, read my poetry,
When you find your freedom,
Pray for me so I find my eternity.

Rescue Me
In this crowded surroundings I seek you,
Saw you standing still but could not reach you,
Came to discover the truth so I tumbledown.
Went out of my mind could no longer breathe,
The hope that was last found fades away,
Then those people become afraid and shred my door.
Will someone rescue me from such aggravation?
Will a fairy grand me my wish to be discover again?
Recover me, rescue me.

Lonely Star
We meet again Mr. Lonely Star,
There I found you because I’m lost,
Firefly suddenly emerge from the lone pine,
Wandering in solitary like mine.
...
Reflections fades cool breeze comes,
Wrapped me painfully and slowly,
I search for comfort yet it’s gone,
There again I see you, Mr. Lonely star.
...
Will we be at this very horizon together?
Will we be fortunate to find our happy life further?
For what I long is to be content,
Seem so blind from the ray of sun.

The Creative Breakdown
Bites of kilobytes consuming this creative energy
Restless so restless my mind decline to torpidity
Like Jupiter my soul tangle so unstoppable
Work after work I can’t break free it left me dawdle.
The sands of time are sinking my inhalation
SMS after SMS irritate my patience
Like boiling water I seek ways to vaporize
Yet black before my eyes I fall and paralyze.

That Moonlight Sonata
A restless heart, a restless mind
Deep in my subconscious I was tied by such force
It drained my energy
So the killer breeze comes back to take me
Then I gaze upon the stars
And I see the moon
It was you.... enlighten me
Through the darkness I reach out
And I surrender to the magnificent of the Divine
Then that loneliness became warm
So alone but never alone
Let me close my eyes
Let me swept in tears
Peacefully, let me rest easy
So I could fly with the wind
And be a part of the stars
So that others will wish upon me
And with God’s will
I will shower them compassion
So their pain will leave
And set them free

Yo let me revitalize your mind to a wider perspective,
sometimes honesty doesn’t mean complimentary.
Emotional extreme chained you with too much misery,
like a drama queen, think you exaggerating too much negativity?
Fellas drop the act lets be realistic,
stop chasing popularity let’s get back to basic.
If the politics starts to bother your mentality,
check your bank account that’s what’s really scare your reality,
jumping jobs just to pamper your indecisive peculiarity.
Whats the deal talking ‘bout chicks and being a love machine,
when ten minutes of your time better to educate with sexual disease,
the danger of world’s health is a major catastrophe,
don’t you think it’s about time to protect your eternity?

Let’s Collaborate
I transpire the values of togetherness,
Through collaboration we produce clarity.
We communicate ideas harnessing creativity,
Shuffling disciplines we adapt versatility.
Spiritually we surface partnership,
To synergise our capability so we see a wider perspective.
Eventually this creates intimacy,
Fostering the creative economy.

Assalamualaikum,
Senyummu menghangatkan kesejukkan jiwaku

Dimatamu aku suatu yang tak terhina

Gusar Paranoia
Apakah daun-daun itu melambaiku?
Ataupun mempersendakan diriku?
Bahang matahari berolak menjadi pilu
Bak jantung bernafas kian sesak terbuntu
Butanya aku tersipu malu
Kerna ombakan emosi menjadi sayu
Sekilas dilihat bukan perlu ditangisi
Hanya perlukan bimbingan disanubari
Tegar pabila dihembus
Jiwa kini menjadi tulus
Jangan pula disamakan rakus
Kerna diriku bukanlah dayus

Pedih
Pedih, perasaan ulung membara jiwa
Melilit tangisan pilu membanjiri sanubari
Tertanya kesangsian nan deru angin bak Musytari
Kerna kesilapanku kecil dunia menjadi sepi
Cinta senang dihembus kata
Entah mana pula perasaan terkira
Disudut ini berombak pemikiran
Pendirianku dulu kukuh kian pudar
Hadirmu dimana?
Pelukmu dimana?
Buah fikirku mana?
Hilang perasaanku dimana?
Pengorbananku memberi seribu keikhlasan
Saat ku memerlukanmu mengiringi kehampaan
Kau getarkan keraguanmu dengan ungkitanku
Sering salah tingkah lakuku dimatamu
Kini ku mengulangi kesilapanku
Kerana impianku yang diidamkan berombak
Lalu aku pergi membawa diri
Hanya kekosongan duka mengiringi destinasi

Rintihan Sayu Di Petang Disember
Di suatu senja ketika dahulu,
awan berarak suram,
angin halus berlalu tanpa membelaiku,
di sudut jantung cinta terputus sayu.
Ada tangan menjangkau tak mampu mengenggam,
ada suara membisik tak dapat bergema luas,
ada pandaindera kabur tak bisa melihat jauh,
ada telinga berdengung tak dapat mendengar rintih.
Pabila cinta baharu datang mengusik aku,
terikat pula jiwa akan riwayat lalu,
sore jiwaku meronta ingin menggapai renjanamu,
tatkala maju tetap melingkuh jauh.

Di Penghujung Nyawa
Tatkala makin hampir hati jauh rasanya sanubarimu
Dapat ku hidu celaru sangsimu nan mungkir mengharap bersatu
Kerna langkahku cinta abadi dan langkahnya pula tercari yang lain
Sambil menatap diriku persis boneka
Indah luarnya tapi dalamnya berbeda
Gayat kelam waktu membelit aku dengan kabur fajar
mengusang kesedihan menusukkan keris dijantung
berdarah kembali lesap dari duniawimu
Kini hanya tinggal cebisan roh bergayut sepi
Melihatmu girang disana tapi disini aku di hujung nyawa
Tiada saringan cuma iradat nan membutakan hati
Yang dilihat sebagai pilihan bukan yang agung
Tewas menelan puri, pergi daku dari sini

Cinta Boneka

Makin hari jauh tiba ke pulau hati
Hingga celaru mengingkari ikatan sejati
Langkahku yakini cinta abadi langkahmu pula tercari-cari

Gayat kelam waktu menutup jendela yang retak
mengusang pedih ibarat keris dijantung
berdarah musnah hanyut dari duniawi

Acceptance of Talent

Everything starts with you. If you don’t put faith in your

Stop Judging,
Start Loving
Sometimes certain people
who claim to be open-minded
are more condescending
and close-minded by judging
others blindly. They become
more skeptical, prejudice and
full of doubt by putting high
