great story. The cobbled streets of the
city's Old Town transports visitors back
in time. Visit our Museums Quarter, home
to some of our free museums. For a
touch of drama, head to one of the city’s

marina is Hull’s Arts Quarter. Centred
around the old fruit market, this area is
full of galleries and unique venues
including Fruit, which hosts events
throughout the year.
With grand architecture, an
impressive collection of art, awardwinning gardens, giant games and
a magical maze, there’s something

STEWART’S

set in the picturesque market town of
Pocklington. It’s home to two lakes, a
rockery, a stumpery, the Victorian
Garden and the Secret Garden. The
Museum is dedicated to Major Percy
Marlborough Stewart and features
various artefacts that he brought back
from eight around the world voyages.
BEVERLEY RACES
SLEDMERE HOUSE
Beverley Racecourse is home to
the most popular races and events
in the UK, including Beverley
Bullet, The Hilary Needler Trophy,
Rapid Lad Handicap and Ladies’
Day. With bars, cafés, an à la carte
restaurant and plenty of racedays
and events going on throughout
the year, it’s a great day out for
families, couples and groups.
Relax in the new Angel Garden, have
a bite to eat in the Terrace Café, and

Room, Boudoir and individually
themed bedrooms in this Georgian
home. There’s plenty to keep the kids
happy, too. As well as acres of

Local
Inspection
Scheme
Bridlington
Tourism
Association
Visit Hull & East Yorkshire
local visitor accommodation
inspection scheme in
partnership with VisitEngland. The local scheme delivered
through Quality in Tourism
has been adopted to provide
a new minimum entry level for
all accommodation.
We are a trade association
representing serviced and
self catering accommodation
providers. Accommodation
providers must meet certain
quality standards in order to
be accepted as members who
can then display the BTA Logo.
Whilst no star
ratings are awarded
properties that are
assessed and
approved are able
to display a VHEY
accommodation
scheme logo.
All members are inspected
annually to guarantee that
these standards are maintained,
thus ensuring guests of a
quality of stay.
For a fuller explanation of
what the Bridlington Tourism
Association does, a list of current
members, and things to do in
Bridlington, please go to
www.bridholidays.com
The Sign Of Quality
Remember to book
your stay where you
see this sign.
Quality
Assurance
Quality Assurance Schemes are
in place to assist customers when
making accommodation bookings.
They are an indication of the
range of facilities and the quality
of accommodation on offer.
Accommodation in this guide
falls into two categories:
Quality Assured Properties:
These hotels, guesthouses and
self catering units have passed an
annual quality inspection by either
Visit Britain or the AA. The ratings
range from 1 to 5 stars; 1 star is
basic, 5 stars is luxury. There is
also a budget rating for motel
style accommodation.
Non Inspected:
These hotels, guesthouses and self
catering units have chosen not to
apply for a quality inspection. Some
non inspected accommodation may
have a quality assurance scheme
which is run “in house”. This type
of self assessment is usually found
in hotel chains and groups.
