HUNTER highlights 2013 : edition 155 www.hunter.com News and Trends of the Automotive Industry Hunter draws record crowds at SEMA 2013! In November, Hunter Engineering Company attended the annual SEMA show and debuted some of the show’s most innovative and talked-about technology. Hunter’s 7,000-squarefoot exhibition booth saw a constant stream of traffic for four days. Customers from around the world witnessed live demonstrations of 10 new Hunter products, including the Revolution™ the world’s most advanced fully automatic tire changer. Hunter also revealed the new 6-sensor WinAlign HD alignment system, the fastest heavy duty alignment system in the industry. A new drive under Quick Check™ configuration and enhanced TCX50 family tire changers also made Hunter one of the most publicized exhibitors at SEMA. ® Over 100 Hunter employees and Representatives staffed Hunter’s booth at SEMA 2013. Throughout the show, Hunter’s booth received media coverage from Velocity Channel’s Overhaulin’ show, Performance TV and other industry video and print outlets. Hunter Senior Product Manager Pete Liebetreu talks to a crowd while Hunter’s new Revolution automatically changes a tire. What’s Inside NEW! Revolution Page 2 NEW! WinAlign HD Page 3 NEW! Revolution™ fully automatic tire changer Hunter combined its technological leadership and innovative style to produce the most advanced fully automatic tire changer completely designed and built in the USA - the Revolution™. Debuted at SEMA in November, the Revolution uses the same fully automatic process for all tire and wheel combinations, saving time on today’s diverse assemblies. The fully automatic process also reduces the need for a skilled operator and levels the experience gap of tire-changing teams by turning all technicians into experts. The Revolution’s intuitive touchscreen interface indicates the operator’s current step and monitors progress throughout the procedure. The touchscreen also stores 15 helpful on-board videos. The fully automatic process places the operator away from the machine, increasing technician safety and eliminating pinch points. The Revolution also increases tire and wheel safety as all rim contact or near rim contact is plastic. Software constantly monitors TPMS location and will not allow the tire to be mounted or demounted in an unsafe position. The Revolution was featured on Performance TV at SEMA 2013 and was among the most popular new technology at the show. WinAlign® HD alignment system industry’s fastest! Hunter’s Heavy Duty customers can now diagnose tire wear conditions in 1/3 of the time. New technology from Hunter Engineering provides accurate, 3-axle wheel alignment readings in just 4 minutes. Hunter’s previous generation aligner took over 12 minutes. Hunter’s improved WinAlign HD Alignment System uses four or six revolutionary DSP700T heavy-duty alignment sensors. DSP700T sensors use exclusive roll-forward Quick Comp compensation to compensate all sensors at once without the need to jack each axle. ® Above: Hunter Representatives explain the speed of new WinAlign HD Alignment systems at SEMA 2013. NEW! WinAlign HD transforms business for Steepleton Tire! Left: Hunter’s WinAlign HD Alignment system can include optional turnplates that automatically lock and unlock to allow shops to align heavy-duty vehicles on the floor or with a truck rack. Cordless DSP700T sensors are compensated at the same time by Hunter’s unique pusher. Hunter’s DSP700T sensors are accurate to a range of 600 inches (1,524 centimeters) to cover all truck, bus and trailer lengths. When equipped with the time-saving capabilities of Hunter’s optional Fully Integrated Alignment Turnplate kit (FIA), the system produces full vehicle measurements in as little as 4 minutes. “After using Hunter’s new [WinAlign HD alignment] system, I would never want to use another alignment unit,” says Ian Heidemann, Lead Technician at Cross-Midwest Tire Co. “The battery life on the sensors is great, and I am able to see my alignment results without jacking up each axle and moving around the sensors.” inAlign HD for advantage of W en the greatest Q.
