C During a trip to Southern Israel aring for over 120 orphaned and underprivileged boys ages 7-18 is not easy. Each child requires plenty of warmth and acceptance, balanced with appropriate boundaries. They need a strong classroom education, as well as the tools necessary for a life of accomplishment and success. Providing this for each child is an incredible challenge. Yet with your generous concern and support, it all becomes possible. The vast majority of the necessary money was donated by a generous supporter who prefers to remain anonymous Nine Bar Mitzvahs were celebrated during this past year Nine recent graduates now serve in the Israeli army During a lesson in the Horowitz Graphics Program The generous Rochlin Foundation provided a generous grant towards the music program Bill Forster’s “Chickens for Shabbat” has helped enhanced the weekly Shabbat experience for the children throughout the year The Bildirici brothers Nesim, David, Charlie, Joseph and Morris dedicated a new wing in memory of their grandparents Gabriel & Sara Bildirici New Zion Orphanage staff includes: Top Israeli magician, Shimi Illuzini, performed for the children together with the Nathan & Adele Kraiem family as well as the Bendayan and Chera families who sponsored the event Gadi Amiday Animal-Assisted Therapist Shalom Elchanan Elbaum English Teacher Ophir Gal “Krav Maga” Martial Arts for High School Level Pinchas Keonig Cook Yochai Leshem Child Psychologist Moshe Miller Child Psychologist Ziv Ventura Keyboard Teacher World famous Cantor Benzion Miller visits the campus Longstanding supporter Moshe Behar dedicated this classroom The day marking one year since the tragic passing of 27 year old Nethanel Hardy from France, was the naming of The Nethanel Hardy family unit (mishpachtone). He was loved and cherished by all and served as a model of fine character. 2 Practicing keyboards in the highly successful Brilliant music program Bar Mitzvah celebrations B in the Zion Orphanage ar Mitzvah sponsors provided the boys with incredibly enjoyable celebrations Dr. Elie Fteha and family Adam and Suri Sokol During Nechemia’s lavish Bar Mitzvah celebration Rabbi Eli and Rebbetzin Sandra Mansour As part of their own Bar Mitzvah preparations in the USA, Joseph Hittman of Ramsey, NJ, and Sam Zlota of Sharon, MA, graciously ran independent successful campaigns to raise funds for those less fortunate than them in the Zion Orphanage. Besides distributing cash to all 120 boys, he provided significant pilot funding towards the new Sports Center. The Zion Orphanage children & staff wish you a Shana Tova A sweet, happy and successful New Year, all in good health Morris Elbaz and Avi Arussy during their first visit A Zion Orphanage benefit in Brooklyn, NY, featured the wisdom of Rabbi Eli Mansour and the music of Yaakov Shwekey with special guest Cantor Yechezkel Zion who was in the Zion Orphanage as a child Rabbi Dr. Yichiel & Mrs. Natalie Simon attending the Brooklyn event. Rabbi Simon has been masterfully managing the ZO US office for over two decades. David & Sally Wahba at the Brooklyn event 4 David & Sarah Barnathan treat the children to ice cream with friend Steven Stein The Jaime & Jorge Guttman brothers kindly hosted a beautiful event in their home state of Florida.
