Project Overview
This was an outsourced support and development project for Pertemps,
the nationwide recruitment agency. The goal was to improve the
effectiveness of the recruitment process by using the web to link up the
highly successful network of high street branches with employers and
applicants. As well as increasing the speed with which jobs are filled,
there are on line modules for ePay, Applicant Testing and eProcurement
with instant access to manage your account, performing tasks such
as initiating the search for new staff.
Background
Pertemps is the largest privately-owned recruitment company in the UK.
With over 200 branches throughout England, Scotland and Wales,
a staff of 1,000 and over 30,000 full-time and part-time candidates this
is a very dynamic, busy organisation.
Placing their business on the web provided a new ways of doing
business that radically increased the quantity, speed and quality
of vacancies that could be filled.

The Solution
The Pertemps recruitment system runs on a Wide Area Network across
branches, which is fully integrated with the website. The branches
automatically upload new vacancies to the Pertemps website, which sends
XML feeds to the most popular job boards, such as TotalJobs, WorkThing,
Monster and JobSite. The website allows potential candidates and employers
to search for a suitable match, offers career advice and the usual corporate
information. Applicants are routed back to the branch consultant who is
managing the relevant vacancy to fast
track ideal candidates.
The browser interface means it is
simple and cost effective to deploy to
customer and partner organisations in
the Pertemps Group.
360 Systems also provides a rapid
response support service which
monitors the complex environment
remotely and can apply additional
modules quickly as business pressures
demand. With such an important business tool, it is vital that new
opportunities to improve customer service are built quickly and implemented
with confidence.
Result
Pertemps now have a website through which they can run their day-today operations more efficiently. The website does everything it should do,
including the linking of all job opportunities from each branch. Applicants,
Branches and Customers can interact with Pertemps 24/7 On Demand, their
requirements are serviced when needed rather than just 9:00 to 5:00.
Behind the scenes, the web site maintains automatic XML integration with
TotalJobs, WorkThing, Monster and JobSite. Applicants are then routed
to relevant branch consultant who can also manage the relevant content
associated with positions managed by their own branch. It also integrates
with eProcurement and with ePay in the regular payment of over 30,000
payroll employees.
