Comment: “How can anyone put into words what
God has done for one? The peace in times of stress is
an example. The month’s money of one who has a
fixed income and yet it seems to go further. God is so
subtle. I don’t hear bells, fireworks or drums; still my
prayers are answered. Don’t try to outdo God! He
will not allow it. He comes back with more help than
before.”
Pastors Comment: “Last week’s passage from St.
Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians is a reminder of who
we are as Church and as members of the living Body
of Christ. Paul challenges us to recognize our
individual identity and how important we are to each
other. Our life in Christ moves and has being when we
make this connection. Our purpose is fulfilled when we
make this connection. Thank you to those who have
seized this opportunity. You who have given and
received.”

your heart will be.”

FISHES AND LOAVES CAFÉ
Every 3rd Friday of the month Our Lady of
Fatima Church and Fish, Inc. serve
individuals and families a hot meal while
providing hospitality and fellowship. This
monthly supper is a ministry to serve our
sisters and brothers in need who reside in the
surrounding communities and those who are homeless.
Fishes and Loaves Café is a ministry in which we
exercise in charity the corporal works of mercy to feed
the hungry, give drink to the thirsty and welcome
strangers. In addition to volunteers who set up, cook
and serve, we ask parishioners to manifest the presence
of our Lord by taking time to sit and talk with guests
attending the supper.
The next Fishes and Loaves Café will be
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH from
5:00PM – 7:00PM in the cafeteria.
If you would like to participate in this ongoing
ministry, please contact Arlene Sroczynski at 732-5630449 or email [email protected]. Thank you in
advance for your prayerful support and participation in
living the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you
welcomed me.” Matthew 25:35

Knights of Columbus of Dunellen for their continued
support of the Café. Once again they have given us a
generous check of $1,000.00 so we may continue the

2015 Bishop’s Annual Appeal –
Grace, Mercy & Peace
To date the Development Department has received
pledges totaling $53,985.73 & payments totaling
$49,973.73 from 262 parishioners. This represents
57.3 % of our $94,200.00 goal. The role of the Office
of Evangelization is to continue the work Jesus
entrusted to the Church 2,000 years ago but with
newness in terms of method, ardor and expressions
used. Thanks to your gift to the Bishop’s Annual
Appeal, the diocesan Evangelization Team is able to
serve Both individuals and parishes, the Clergy and
laity alike, and invite all to a renewed encounter with
Jesus Christ.

our generosity to others, in our everyday lives, He calls
us to share our gifts of them, talent and financial
resources with others.
“While we have the
opportunity, let us do good to all people – but
especially to those of the household of the faith.”

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE
For the safety of our workers, volunteers
and the general public, and in
compliance with the law, all scheduled
activities in the church, parish center,
cafeteria,
auditorium/gym
and
elsewhere on our property will be cancelled during a
declared state of emergency for our area. If there is no
declared state of emergency, but outdoor conditions
are such that they pose a grave danger to public safety,
then common sense and good judgment may require
that we cancel activities and that individuals refrain
from traveling outdoors. Please know that no one is
ever obliged to attend Mass under circumstances that
might be hazardous to themselves or to others.
NO VEHICLES
We ask that no one please leave their
vehicle(s) in our parking lot during
snow storms. The presence of
vehicles makes it very difficult for
us to properly clear the parking lot of snow. Thank you
for your cooperation.
PRAYERFUL SILENCE
We ask that everyone please
maintain, at all times, an atmosphere
of prayerful silence in our church as
a courtesy to those who wish to pray
and out of reverence for the Blessed
Sacrament present in the tabernacle. Once the
renovation of our church is completed, individuals will
be able to socialize in the narthex and parish meeting
room. However, until then, please refrain from talking
inside the church. Thank you for your understanding
and cooperation.
PARISH TRUCK
Our parish is in need of a small
truck. Our current Pickup has
outlived its years and is in danger of
dying at any moment. It is vital that we maintain a
parish truck in order to pick up, drop off and transport
items to, from and within our property. If anyone
knows where we can purchase a used Pickup in good
condition, please contact the parish office. Your help
is very much appreciated.

In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the
Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks
on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
The world was a playground for Mickey,
a naive Irish American kid bored with
his life. His father served in World War
II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam;
now it was his turn. His 365 days in
Vietnam builds in torment until an
attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia.
Wounded, his friend captured, he
becomes a tormented survivor knowing
he is always just a heartbeat from death.
