Dear Witches, Wizards, Mudbloods and Muggles,
The ‘Magic’ hour has finally arrived! From near and far people have come by Knight
Bus, Saint Andrew’s Express, broomsticks, portkeys and hippogriff to be part of this
enchanted evening. So, dust off your wizard robe, your invisibility cloak or house
scarf, enjoy a glass of elderflower wine or a mug of butterbeer, and prepare for
hours of spells, potions and fun.
Our creative and talented Head Wizard, Carol Kramer, and her amazing team of
wizards, witches and magical beings have prepared our Great Hall for a celebration that will go down in the annals of ‘magicdom,’ for sure. Flying high, but steady
and mostly out of sight, this Wizarding Family has worked untiringly for months to
create what you see before you tonight. Kudos and congratulations to one and all!

Spring Social & Fundraising Chairperson

Hail Witches, Wizards and All Magical Folk,
MAGIC is the change that results from combined passions, intellects and creative
efforts. Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School is definitely a magical community!
Many Witches and Wizards banded together to make this fabulous evening and
fundraiser possible. I was continually asked, “What can I do?” “What do you need?”
“How can I help?” These Wizards did remarkable things to accommodate a very different kind of year. They procured donations, found advertisers, launched our new
sponsorship program and debuted our online auction. They showed deep resolve to
overcome all dark forces and they have prevailed. Sincere thanks to all of you from
the bottom of my very grateful heart!
Lisa Robinson, Director of Marketing and Communications, has provided publicity in
new ways. She created and produced the premier Special Edition The Magic of Saint
Andrew’s Leaflet which will be used for marketing purposes by the school in the
future. She also waved her web-magic wand and integrated our event on the school
web site. Thank you so much, Lisa! Gail Longfellow, Director of Development and
Alumni Affairs, has successfully brought alumni, alumni parents, grandparents and
friends together to participate with us this year. I am thrilled that so many of them
are here tonight, and I thank you for your support. A special thank you, Gail, for
your vision and efforts to strengthen and expand our community!
Our Wizards-in-Training showed great Magical Spirit when the Student Council hosted a Middle School Harry Potter film night in March. To provide more fun for them,
we hosted special events on the plaza this week to build the excitement for tonight.
A word of caution to the parents: The young Wizards’ wish lists are charmed. Woe
to anyone who disregards these spells.
A special thank you to our Master Wizard, Mr. Harry V. McKay, Jr., who endured
many surprises from me throughout the year. You are a most longsuffering Head
Wizard, and I appreciate all your support. I can’t thank you enough.
While our gym is transformed into a Great Hall tonight, each and every day this
school is filled with the magic of learning. We are here to celebrate our students
and thank their teachers, the administration, the staff and the Board of Directors
who tirelessly make Magic happen here every day. We so appreciate you!
And now, I cast my strongest spells, charms and incantations over this Great Hall, as
we make MAGIC for Saint Andrew’s tonight. Let the festivities begin!

Positive magic is brewing throughout the Saint Andrew’s Community as we come
together and enjoy a fun-filled and magnificent Spring Social and Fundraiser.
Raise your wands high to support all of the important programs this special event
finances throughout the following school year. Proceeds are used to fund the
Parents’ Association Board (PAB) budget, which includes school-wide student
and whole community enrichment events, such as the Harvest Festival, monthly
Community Socials, Pizza Bingo Night, Variety Show, Field Day, STAR and Common
Ground Speaker Series, Teacher Appreciation Lunch, and so much more. In addition, proceeds support the CAP (Creative Arts Program) Grant Fund, PRIDE (Pursuing
Responsibility, Integrity, Discipline and Effort) Grant Fund, and a contribution to the
school’s financial aid fund. And finally, as a gift from you, the Parent Association,
the remainder of our fundraising proceeds will be used to purchase a gift for the
school that will have significant importance to our students and staff, and will also
support the school’s strategic plan.
We are so fortunate that my incantation for the perfect Spring Social Chairperson
conjured up Carol Kramer. What a ball of fire she is! Carol is always full of great
ideas and energy. She is a tremendous leader of people, and she is always, always,
always positive. Thank you, Carol, for saying “yes.” Your hard work and your 100%
dedication to our school will forever be appreciated. There are many extraordinary
parents who worked closely with Carol and who gave a great deal of their time and
talents to bring us this fabulous party. You’re all the best! Thank you!
I want to give special thanks to Harry McKay for his ever-present support and encouragement of the PAB. You are always a pleasure to work with. Our faculty and
staff are also exceedingly supportive of all our PAB activities. We are so fortunate
to have this amazing team educating and caring for our children. To the alumni,
alumni parents and grandparents in our midst, I hope you enjoy yourselves this
evening. Indeed, welcome to all of you attending tonight!
Please pay special, close attention to all of the businesses that have bestowed upon
us donations, underwriting, and other gifts. These businesses have made sacrifices
to support our children’s school and many of these donors don’t even have children
at Saint Andrew’s. Like us, they recognize the treasure that is this school and the
importance of a quality and well-rounded school experience. When you patronize
these generous donors, please be sure to thank them for their support.
Now, for my final spell: Witches and Wizards! Fire up you cauldrons, wave those
wands, and let’s make some magic tonight for our children and Saint Andrew’s
Episcopal School!
Best wishes always,
Karen Phillips

Welcome to a magical evening!
When it comes to magic, there is nothing quite as magical as raising children – especially
when it comes to disappearing tricks and transformations! Where did that tiny infant
disappear to? What about that toddler with hands full of chocolate pudding? And I’m
sure that I was taking my little girl to nursery school just a moment ago. How did she
turn into a second grader, almost as tall as I am?!
There’s no doubt that, like all good wizards, our children keep us on our toes. They
bubble over with the richest brew of curiosity, imagination and fun. They have stormed
our hearts, changed our perspectives, re-shuffled our priorities – and they are constantly
revealing another trick or two from up their sleeves!
What better way to celebrate the magic of children than to gather together in that special place where all their imagination, curiosity, energy, and talent is channeled into discovery and fulfillment. The wonderful teachers at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School know
the secret of bringing out the hidden marvels of our sons and daughters. Using their own
special brand of magic, they encourage their students to experience the wonder of learning, the joy of developing new skills, and the priceless gift of lasting friendships.
In recognition of all that Saint Andrew’s does for our children, some amazing parents
have worked their own magic. Delicious food, wonderful company and delightful entertainment – these may seem to have materialized out of thin air, but we all know that
it took more than the wave of a wand to create an evening of enchantment. Grateful
thanks to that dedicated team that has transformed Saint Andrew’s Hall and cast a spell
of fun and enjoyment over us all!
Each one of us has a role in the success of The Magic of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School.
This magical evening is our opportunity to share in the future of every child who will
have the privilege of attending this remarkable school. Let’s see what we can pull out of
our hats!
God bless you.

Ronnie Lott Signed 49ers Jersey & DVD
This is a MUST HAVE for a 49ers Fan!
Ronnie Lott was the SF49ers’ first round
draft pick in 1981. In his first NFL season,
Lott helped the 49ers to win Super Bowl
XVI. Known for his hard-hitting style, Lott
was used in multiple positions during his
14-year career. The versatile defensive
back earned 10 Pro Bowl invitations at
three different positions - cornerback,
free safety, and strong safety. In 1986, he
played 14 games at the free safety position
before an injury sidelined him for the final
two games of the season. Still, he led the
league with a career-most 10 interceptions, recorded 77 tackles, three forced
fumbles and two quarterback sacks. It was
perhaps his finest season. Own this piece
of football history and be inspired watching the included DVD of Ronnie’s career
highlights and interviews.

Caring. Connecting.
Community.
A wise woman once had a dream to change
the lives of women for the better. Her hope
was so contagious that, one person at a time,
her dream spread around the world. Today,
45 years later, millions have been touched by
the legacy that Mary Kay Ash left. I’m proud to
share in her commitment of caring and connecting in communities — just like ours — to
help make a difference.
