Boys,
Even though the reenacting season is over for 2014, the planning for next

5 Civil War Christmas at Historic Fort Wayne
At the Medich Battalion meeting, held at Historic Fort Wayne on Nov. 22nd, the 4th Texas was
represented by Alan Allgaier, Brian and Joshua Coleman, Tim Puzella, and myself. The meeting
was quite lengthy and started late due to freezing rain delaying out of state drivers. Col. Medich
could not make it to this meeting. I'll cover only key points in this report. Any questions about
other topics from the meeting, ask me personally.
-Each Company will pay $25 in dues and spent at the Battalion staff's discretion. Our Company
voted 'No' on this. A majority of the Battalion still voted to accept this measure.
-Once our Command Staff has been elected for 2015, we need to send the name, phone number,
email address to Lt. Col Van Wey and Brian Coleman.
-Battalion Staff made their reports for the year. Expressed disappointment at small attendance for
events. They would like to see more commitment to attendance at Btn events for 2015.
-Joshua Coleman gave a great presentation on the history of the fort. As part of his Eagle Project he
will be doing restoration at the fort. Information on dates help is needed is forthcoming.
-Tom Bertolucchi, the coordinator at Ft. Wayne, talked about Confederates being welcome at the
Fort for their events. Also he has taken charge along with a few others for an overhaul of the
Jackson event. They recognize that the event is not where it needs to be in regards to quality and
safety. They promise a better event for 2015. They would like Nick Medich to take overall command
of CSA forces.
-Several events were discussed for the Battalion in 2015. The following were agreed upon by those
present to be max effort for the Btn..
-Spring Drill at Huddlestone Farm, April 25-26
- Hale Farm, Bath, Ohio, August 8-9
- Cascades Park at Jackson, MI, August 22-23
-Charlton Park, Hastings, MI on July 18-19, is to be a Battalion supported event
-A couple of 150th events were discussed, Bentonville, N.C. and Sailor's Creek, VA as potential
Btn. events. It was decided that the Btn. would not commit to either and left it open to individual
companies to choose where they go for the 150th's. We were informed that only 30 slots were
available for Sailor's Creek if we go with the 12th S.C. as Confederates. The 12th will be using 20 of
those open slots. We do have the option of going as Federals to Sailor's Creek. This will be
discussed at our December meeting.
Thank you and see you all at the Holiday Party December 13th.
