been a Sgt Major in the old 26th Middlesex Battalion. He was appointed Sgt in the 135th but reverted
to the ranks to go overseas with the 18th Btn. He suffered trench fever Promoted Sergeant, he was
killed in action on the 4th of April 1918 in the trenches north of Neuville Vitasse. He is honoured on the
Vimy Memorial.
