Bring the Family for a day of Adventure as you travel on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from Canton to Hale Farm & Village for a day filled with authentic Civil War Experiences. Schedule: 7:30 am-Depart from the Canton Lincoln Highway Station. Enjoy beautiful scenery and costumed 1860’s characters on your way to Indigo Lake Station. 9:30 am-Arrive at Indigo Lake. Immerse yourselves in the 1860’s as you meet soldiers and civilians in costume. Shake hands with the President, shop for hoopskirts, smell the sounds of gunpowder and see the activities of the campgrounds. Feel the excitement as the troops prepare for battle! Members of the Army of the Ohio and Birney’s Division head of the Union forces and The King’s Brigade, 1st Confederate Division/Medich’s Battalion head up the Confederate Division. In addition to the Encampment, explore the sites and attractions of Hale Farm & Village, an outdoor living history museum featuring life and crafts from the mid-1800’s. Kids will love the farm animals and pastures, and visitors of all ages will enjoy the historic houses with historical interpreters dressed in period costume. Demonstrations by the Glassmaker, Blacksmith and other period crafters are also a highlight. Enjoy the scenery as the train rolls through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on your journey to history. At the third light (BP on the right), make a left. Follow to Downtown Ford on your left and you will see the station just off the side of Downtown Ford at Brown (light).
