No matter their differences, mothers have a special role in our lives and so we celebrate all Mothers this month. Hope you know how special you are, Mom, you are loved! As we start out May with a song in our heart for all Mothers let’s also keep the memory alive in our thoughts and prayers for the families of our veterans who have served our country. On May 30, 2016, We will host a Memorial Day Luncheon 11:001:00 pm. We hope you will come spend the morning with us as we honor those veterans who have passed during the year. In recognition of Cinco de mayo we will take our lunch bunch out to eat at Monte De Rey’s Mexican restaurant. Now it’s time to relax, unwind, and get in a luau state of mind! It’s time for your favorite duo Joan & Jeff and our annual tropical Luau! Bring a longtime friend or make a new friend during May 15- 21, friends’ week. Tag along for one of our new programs like outside courtyard, hall bowling, or come learn to play rook and test your card skills. With all the fun filled activities to keep you stimulated we still have more on the way. Miss Williams is an energetic, caring woman. She was born March 1st 1923, in Smith Grove N.C. Inez had 6 siblings and assisted her parents in raising them. She worked and retired from Indera Mills in the payroll Dept. Miss Inez Williams enjoys Billy Graham and going to church. She is very involved at Clemmons Village ll and participates in all activities. Her favorite holiday is Christmas and she loved to work in her flower garden. Inez is a pleasure to sit and talk with, so stop by and get to know sweet Miss Inez Williams our resident of the month. Bulls show a steady persistence in endeavors both professional and personal, and after working hard, they are not shy about rewarding themselves for a job well done. Witty and intellectual, they attract many friends, mentors, and colleagues. Morgan Wishon Morgan Wishon, native of Yadkin County, has been employed at Clemmons Village ll since August 2012. Morgan has a daughter almost 5 years old who is her world. She currently works as a Med Tech on 3rd shift, but has worked all shifts, and enjoys her time caring for the residents. New Neighbor’s Nook Gena Ward Sasha Edens-Briggs Sasha Eden Briggs was born on September 15, 2007 near the Uwharrie National Forest area. Sasha was a special early Christmas present for an 8 year old boy from Kathy Eden Briggs! This young man desperately wanted a German Shepard puppy and Kathy made this all possible. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Sasha was entrusted to Kathy. Sasha was a very sweet and loving dog that loved her family so dearly. She also loved babies, kids and the Clemmons Village residents and staff! To be very honest she loved everyone that she met! Sasha was a very big fan of the beach! She especially loved sneaking up on birds and chasing them during her walks on the beach. Here is another little known fact! She was a gym rat as she tagged along with Kathy during her workouts. Sasha leaves to cherish fond memories her parents, Kathy Eden and Doug Briggs and family, a very special friend and veterinarian Dr. Pete Gilyard! As well as a host of many, many admirers that loved her! Sasha’s ashes will be scattered on the beaches of Bird’s Island, NC! Miss Gena Ward was born September 29th 1958 in Winston Salem N.C. Miss Ward enjoys bowling and teaching sign language to others. She loves listening to Barry Manalow and her mother Exie playing her favorite song “In the Garden” on her piano. She enjoys putting together puzzles in the living room and is a gifted artist with her colored pencils. Were very excited to have such a gem like Miss Gena in our Clemmons Village ll family. Wanda Sparks Smith Mrs. Wanda Sparks Smith was born January 23rd, 1934 in Erving Kentucky. She met and married the love of her life Mr. Carrol Smith. The two have shared their love for 50 years and shared 3 children. Dwight, Paula, and Michelle. Mrs. Smith retired from Western Electric and in her free time enjoys bowling with her friends and family while listening to country music. We Welcome Wanda to Clemmons Village ll, she brightens the building with her smile and kindness to everyone. Edith Mayes Mrs. Edith Mayes was born July 21st 1932 in Forsyth County. She was married to Mr. Aaron Mayes for 48 years. Together they had a beautiful daughter. Mrs. Mayes enjoys listening to Elvis while working in her flower garden. Mrs. Mayes is a loving dedicated mother and says her daughter is her biggest accomplishment in life. Mrs. Mayes is an inspirational woman and mother. We welcome her and look forward to getting to know more about her.
