A HISTORY

Sportful has a rich sporting history, one that
originates from cross-country skiing, with
multiple world championship victories
and Olympic medals to back up the claim.
The sports of cycling and skiing, although
different, share a similar outlook: both are
physically demanding in the extreme, and
small details in apparel and equipment
can often make all the difference when
competing at the highest level.
The focus on innovation at Sportful is not a
slogan; it’s a mantra of sorts. The company
continues to look for more innovative and
high-tech solutions to help skiers and
cyclists around the world achieve athletic
success. The passion and desire to create
the best possible clothing for cyclists and
cross-country skiers is just as evident
today as it was in 1974, when the company
introduced its first cross-country ski
collection. Sportful’s ski and cycling history spans
only a few decades, but this in itself
speaks volumes, as those few decades
have produced multiple champions: on the
ski slopes Alberto Tomba, Silvio Fauner,
Maurilio De Zolt and Pietro Piller Cottrer,
and on the road Franco Ballerini, Michele
Bartoli, Tony Rominger, Mario Cipollini
and Paolo Bettini, to name just a few.
Very successful partnerships have been
developed with national cross-country
ski teams, including those of Finland,
France, Spain and the Czech Republic,
and cycling teams like the Italian national
team, Lampre, MG Bianchi, Ariostea, and
one of the most successful cycling teams
ever, Mapei, which won most of the big
monuments that the sport has to offer. Sportful has learned from these great
champions, and these lessons learned in the
past have resulted in improvements for the
future. Continuing the inexorable pursuit of
innovation requires a strong partnership.

We race. We race because this is our ultimate proving ground. Where
every little detail is multiplied and every advantage or disadvantage
can make the difference in winning or losing. We don’t race for the
publicity. We do it to test our products and make them better for

and Didier Blanc to our group of ski mountaineering athletes that
includes the Spanish national team.

details. The Cervina jacket is resistant to adverse weather and abrasion, with maximum thermal control and
freedom of movement. The Windstopper’s 4-Way Light fabric actively kicks out moisture, protects you from
the wind and encourages natural movement so you can push yourself to the limit. Eschler® ceramic abrasion
resistant shoulder inserts will provide extra durability and protection from the elements. The back is made
from lightweight DualFit and NoRain fabrics for support and extra breathability. Chest pockets offers a quick

ESCHLER®
“Ceramic printing” is a special innovation of the Swiss company
Christian Eschler AG. It refers to a ceramic coating that gives the
