Welcome to the CX Advantage Sale 2015…
COX EXCALIBUR and our Production Partners want to welcome everyone to our 13th CX Advantage Sale. We
are blessed as breeders to be in a Great Breed of Cattle and to watch the demand for cattle grow around the world.
Looking back over the last 32 years of Cox Excalibur being in the cattle business, I don’t think I have seen a better time to be in the cattle business and especially Red and Black Brangus. The demand is not just for BEEF, but
also our Breed of cattle. Breeders around the world are catching on to these cattle that will grow on grass in hot,
humid, tropical climates, where the largest percent of cattle are in the world. Breeders and cattlemen are also
noticing how well these cattle grade and perform. Selling pounds of beef that can marble will
produce a product that the customer and packers are demanding. Brangus and Red Brangus
fit that demand. Take a close look at how the cattle are scanning with ultrasound and with
the majority of our cattle coming in with the right size ribeye, high IMF (intramuscular
fat), and very low back fat. These traits are hereditary and important to the growth of
our Breed since the marketplace is demanding tenderness and high quality beef.
The U.S Cattle Herd has begun to rebuild and cattlemen are beginning to realize the
importance of the Brangus cow especially in the hot humid climates where the majority of
cattle are raised. With the growing population around the world
and the demand for beef growing, that has kept prices high and
probably going higher. The seed stock business has always benefited after a herd reduction and we have been seeing that in the
demand for bulls and the prices being higher than normal. Even
the prices for heifers have risen with new breeders wanting to get
started in Red and Black Brangus from Mexico, South America and
Central America. We encourage you to stay focused on
breeding better cattle and collecting data to support your
program. Starting with better cattle and genetics always
makes it easier to be successful. Don’t be tempted to fill
your pasture with numbers, fill it with quality, it will pay
you more in the long run.
Over the last 32 years we at Cox
Excalibur are thankful for our
repeat customers and the new
breeders selecting us to help
them get started in Red Brangus.
A new addition to Cox Excalibur
is we are now offering our Black
Brangus customers a choice in genetics we have been developing and breeding for over
17 years. We have followed the Black cattle for years and are determined to breed and
develop some of the best genetics possible. Our customers in South America look at
Brangus as Red or Black. Jose and I work hard to produce cattle that grow on grass and
will perform. Jose loves the cattle and believe me he knows what cattle work for our customers. Jose has helped build Cox Excalibur into a ranch that has sold cattle in 10 countries and many of those customers are repeat customers.
Jose Ramirez
That is what is important to us, we want our customers to be successful and be repeat customers for our new
genetics. Your success is our success; we hope you find the cattle you are looking for at Cox Excalibur and in the
CX Advantage Sale 2015.

In Memory of Don Jobes
d
Don Jobes was a SPECIAL Friend to Red Brangus and many of us. His friendship, advice,
knowledge and love for Red Brangus will be missed so much. I can remember the day that
Jim Hunt, Johnny Kopycinski and I had an appointment with Mr. Jobes and our mission was to ask Don
if the Houston Livestock Show would allow
International
Red
Brangus to have our own
show in Houston. Well
the beginning of the
meeting and the next two
hours didn’t go so well
because his answer was
polite but to the point,
NO. Well Mr. Jobes didn’t
know how persistent us
three could be and over
the next almost three
hours. We kept giving him
reasons why he should let
us show our 3/8 x 5/8 Red
Brangus cattle in Houston. I can still remember him leaning over
his desk when he finally said YES, and that’s when he told us you
better not let me down. He clearly said
we better have 50 head in the show and we did. Well a few of us
took more than we should or ever had before, but we had made a
deal with Mr. Jobes and weren’t going to let him down. The show
went off with success and history was made. Thanks to Mr. Jobes,
the IRBBA has built up the show and is now the largest Red
Brangus show. Thanks Don, we would not have let you down then,
nor in the future. We were honored when Don Jobes retired from
the Houston Livestock Show to have him sell his cattle and
become a fine Red Brangus breeder. ~Don Cox
Don T. Jobes, Jr., age 86, passed away on August 15, 2015 in
Houston, Texas. He was born in Rocksprings, Texas to Don Temple Jobes,
Sr. and Frances Marie Goodwin.
As a young man he worked on ranches in West Texas, where he
developed his love for cattle and agriculture. He continued his love for the
livestock industry in high school where he was active in the FFA and 4-H
programs in Alpine, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from
Sul Ross University in 1953 and received his Master's in Agricultural
Education at Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1954. He did postgraduate work at Texas A & M University.
Jobes taught vocational agriculture at Cypress-Fairbanks High School
for nine years before joining the Texas Education Agency in Austin, Texas
where he supervised agriculture teachers across the state. In 1956, he
was named the executive secretary for the state association of FFA. He
also served as livestock superintendent for the Houston Livestock Show
and Rodeo (HLSR) during this time. On January 1, 1967, Jobes joined the
HLSR as assistant general manager where he served for 31 years.
He retired to his J7 Ranch near East Bernard, Texas in 1998 where he
raised registered Red Brangus cattle. He produced both show and commercial Red Brangus cattle and was largely responsible for introducing
the International Red Brangus Show to Houston. In 2014 he was honored
by the International Red Brangus Breeders (IRBBA) with the lifetime
achievement award.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Helen Jobes; daughter,
Carrie Jobes Hitchcock and her husband Bob; son, Casey Jobes and wife
Debra; daughter, Julie Ray Dunn; son, Robert Lee Dunn Jr. and his wife
Rhonda; seven granddaughters, two grandsons, and four great-grandchildren.

In Memory of Marcos Borges, III
d
Marcos Borges III made us all proud to know him and watch him grow
up. He was very smart, had a great personality and was an extremely talented athlete. I have told many people he is now playing on the best
Soccer Team in the World, his heavenly team. I know all his new teammates loved him like we did and someday we will watch him play with
the best. I know he made his family proud because he knew the importance of the Borges heritage. When we were around Marcos III it gave us
a glimpse of his father, Marcos Jr. in his younger days. Full of fun, spirit and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed but we know God
needed him early and as he had told his Dad, he was very happy he had
accomplished many of his goals
in life. Marcos III, we plan on
seeing you again so until then
watch over your loved ones.
~Don Cox

Death is nothing, I have only moved to the room next door.
I am I, you are you.
What we are, the one for the other, we will continue being.
Call me by the name you have always called me.
Speak to me as you have always done.
Don’t use a different tone. Don’t take an on a sad and solemn air.
Continue to laugh about what we used to laugh at together.
Pray, smile, think of me.
Let my name be pronounced as it always has been, without emphasis of any kind,
without any sign of shadows.
Life is what it has always been. The thread has not been cut.
Why should I not remain in your mind? Only because I am out of your sight?
I shall wait for you; I’m not far away, just on the other side of the road.
You see me? All is well.
Do not cry if you loved me. If you only knew the gift that is God and what
Heaven really is! If you could hear the chant of the Angels and see me in their midst!
If you could see with your own eyes, the horizons, the eternal fields and
the new paths that I cross! If only for an instant if you could contemplate, as I do,
the beauty before which all other beauties pale!
Believe me: When death comes to break your ties as it has broken the ties that chained me,
and when on the day that God has fixed and knows, your soul will
come to this Heaven to which mine has preceded you,
on that day you will see again the one who loves you and who will always love you,
and you will find his heart with all its tenderness purified.
You will see me again, but transfigured and happy, not awaiting death any more,
but advancing with you over the new paths of Light and of Life,
drinking with euphoria, at God’s feet, a nectar of which no one will ever be sated.

In ever-loving memory of Marcos Machado Borges III
2003-2015
To commemorate the lives of two recently departed members of the Brangus and Red Brangus Families, the IRBBA Memorial Scholarship Foundation is announcing Memorial Funds that
will allow their memories to live on.
The family of Don Jobes has established the "Don Jobes Legacy Scholarship." The Scholarship will be awarded each spring to a deserving High School Senior or College Student who
exemplifies the passion and dedication to the Livestock Industry that Mr. Jobes had his entire life.
The "Marcos Borges III Memorial Fund" has been established to honor the life of Marcos and the significance that the Borges family has for Red Brangus and Brangus breeders around
the world. Marcos was a vibrant, outgoing young man with a passion and talent for soccer. He excelled in academics and athletics. Growing up on OB Ranch and MBJ Ranch, he shared his
father's dedication for the cattle industry, with a keen appreciation for his family's legacy from Brazil to their home in Wharton.

sired by CX Home Run 135/P and out of the CX Elite Donor, Ms R38 Center Ranch 314/L22. When
you combine the genetics from Red Top 54D, CX Paymaster 54/J, Rojo Grande 540N, with CX Home
Run 135/P, WB Target 804D32 (Summit Sire) and the record setting Elite Donor 314/L22 you shouldn’t expect anything less than a tremendous young herd sire prospect like 314/B. There are over 40
years of stacking the Top Genetics in Red Brangus and Black Brangus to get this great young herd
sire prospect. He scored in the top quartile of the 88 calves we ultrasounded with an REA of 11, IMF
of 4.10, FT of 0.16 and rump fat of 0.17. If you are looking for a herd sire prospect to bring many
years of successful breeding to your program, here is a sire with proven genetics to back him up.

6 Frozen Embryos from Cox Excalibur Brangus
CX Ms PM Jackie 23/P x CX Payloads Meathouse 930/U
Embryo package of six (6) frozen embryos in the tank sired by CX Payloads Meathouse 930/U and out of CX Ms PM
Jackie 23/P, the dam of CX Tanque 23/T, the sire we sold in the CX Sale 2008 who has become a great herd sire. We
believe that the combination of 930/U and 23/P will produce some outstanding calves. The fertility is obvious in 23/P
with already having 11 calves on the ground. Her sire, CX Powerman 307/H, a Houston Grand Champion, has produced
some of the best cows in the breed, just ask our Buffaloe Cattle partners. You will see that 307/H’s dam was CX Miss
Excalibur 307/0 the best half-blood we ever owned. Don’t over look the dam’s pedigree with CX Jackie 23/H at over
17-years-old is on the ranch about to have her 12th calf. She would have had more but we had her in our flush program in her prime. We have worked hard for over 32 years to build a genetic base that will produce top performing cattle with uniformity and longevity. We are selling six (6) embryos already in the tank of some of our BEST CX GENETICS. Take this opportunity to own some of the history of CX and some of the embryos out of our elite donor program.

6 Frozen Embryos from Cox Excalibur Brangus
CX Ms Excalibur 23/P1 x CX Chief’s Apache 67/Y
CX Chief’s Apache 67/Y is a Grand Champion several times and IBBA Show Bull of the Year 2013-14. He is thick,
long and big boned with lots of natural muscle. He was the first calf of CX Ms Home Run 67/W who has now produced
2 Grand Champions and both are Show Bulls of the Year with her third calf about to enter the show ring to repeat his
two brother’s awards. With genetics like this combined with CX Ms Excalibur 23/P1 the buyer has the opportunity to buy
future Champions in these embryos. CX Ms Excalibur 23/P1 is a daughter of CX Payload 307/L1 out of CX-RF Miss
Cadence 23G2 a tremendous donor in her time from Salacoa Valley Farms. When we had the opportunity to buy 23G2
we didn’t waste a second. She comes out of the famous 23 cow family from Salacoa. CX Ms Excalibur 23/P1 is one of
CX Elite Donors and has won that designation from her proven progeny both in the pasture and by winning championships. If you are looking for the one donor that can put you on top, we believe we are offering you that opportunity
with 23/P1 and CX Apache 67/Y. Selling six (6) embryos some of our BEST CX GENETICS.

CX Ms Payload 59/S is a daughter of CX Payload 301/L1 out of Ms K&K 59/M7. We are
offering you these genetics because she is one of our Elite Donors and has given us many
keeper heifers which are now in our herd performing like their dam. We flushed her to CX
Apache 67/Y because our experience breeding Payload to Home Run or Red Chief has been
very successful. In Apache you get both Home Run daughter sired by Red Chief, what a combination. This embryo package could easily produce the buyer their next herd sire or donor
cow for their herd. The best way to improve your herd is to use Elite embryos or semen from
proven herd sires. Selling six (6) embryos some of our BEST CX GENETICS.

CX Ms Dreamaker 572/C is a show heifer prospect whose paternal grandsire was the IBBA Show
Sire of the Year for 2013, 2014 and 2015, CX Legends Dream 610/U1. The CX philosophy is we don’t
sell a show heifer unless we would put it in our show string. CX Ms Dreamaker 572/C would definitely
be in the CX Show String. We are proud to offer this almost six-month-old show heifer and future
champion. Take a look at her length, depth and correctness along with maintaining femininity. She is
extremely long with a strong top, but not a surprise coming out of Dream, Home Run, 314/L22,
Powerman π and Red Chief. We only pulled two spring heifers out of our calf crop to put in the sale
for show heifers. Both can be future champions.

CX Ms Dream Play 71/C is a show heifer prospect that we want to offer right out of the top of
our entire 2015 spring calf crop. As usual we only sell about five to six heifers a year as show heifers
out of our 300 cow Red Brangus herd. Here is another one we would put in our show string because
she meets all requirements to be successful and go on to be a champion. We have shown many of
the animals in her pedigree with lots of success. In fact there are multiple Grand Champions in her
pedigree and many Champions produced by the animals in her pedigree. Look her over close and
take her home or be ready to compete against her or Lot 11 in the future. Both can make you proud.

CX Ms Prince 10/B is a daughter of Mr -C- Prince 30W and out of the Matriarch of the 10 cow
family at Cox Excalibur, CX Ms Powerpack 10/J who is still producing great calves at CX at almost
17-years-old with a udder like a 5-year-old. The 10 cow family has produced many high performing
cattle in the breed, and just recently was told by John Liechty that the 10 heifer he bought several
years ago at the CX Advantage Sale was producing very well for him. Her longevity and perfect udder
at 17-years-old is very important to breed into your cattle. Here is your opportunity to own a future
great cow. She is selling bred in first trimester to CX Mr Promise Keeper 609/Y1, RR10202186,

The combination of Home Run, Paymaster and the Matriarch of the 314 cow family can only be a
look into the future of an outstanding cow. When we decided to breed her to CX Promise Keeper
609/Y1 we felt that his outcross genetics to her pedigree would produce a great calf. We especially
like her balanced EPDs with a low birth weight and good performing weights. She is selling bred

CX Ms Payloads Meathouse 326/B is a daughter of Meathouse 930/U out of CX Ms. El Cid
326/S1. This is a heifer that brings back the memory when the IBBA had a Summit Show and Sale
in San Antonio years ago. We displayed the dam of 326/B, CX Ms. El Cid 326/S1 at the Summit and
I got one of the best compliments I have ever received in the cattle business when Joe Reznicek
came up to me and said “Sell me that heifer.” Joe was a friend who only bred Black Brangus and
didn’t own any Reds, but to have one of the best cattlemen in the country ask to buy one of my
heifers was an honor. I always wished I had sold him the heifer. Well here is another 326 heifer with
El Cid in her pedigree that should produce great calves for you as all 326 have done for CX. She

ultrasounded with a REA of 12.10, IMF of 4.22 and FT of 0.34. A real herd improver and possibly a
great future donor cow. I can tell you we have kept several of the daughters out of 8443/P and you

CX Ms Black Diamond 86/B is a daughter of CX Mr Black Diamond 36/U out of Ms Iron Farm

genotype and she hasn’t disappointed us. Take a look at her ultrasound data with REA of 11.47, IMF
of 4.26 and FT of 0.20. A really well-balanced heifer that can help you improve your carcass numbers. She comes pasture exposed from 9/1/15 to 10/10/15 to Mr JLS Big Cat 789A14,

CX Ms Rojo Grande’s Radical 103/B is a daughter of Rojo Grande Radical 197/Y out of JH Miss
Focus 103P3. Interesting combination of Black genetics with Red. Rojo Grande Radical 197Y comes
from the CX Paymaster line along with the CX Home Run line. Add the SG Tonto genetics and you
get the interesting carcass numbers she produced. Look at the high actual IMF of 5.05, with the very
low FT of 0.08. If this heifer would have been pushed no telling how high her IMF would have been.
Another heifer to help you improve your carcass numbers. She comes pasture exposed from
9/1/15 to 10/10/15 to Mr JLS Big Cat 789A14, R10262056, a son of Mr JLS Big Cat 915Y45 out

Terms & Conditions
Except for those stated in the below terms and conditions, there are
no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability
or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold
at this auction.
The warranties and guarantees set forth in the “Terms and
Conditions” are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or
implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and
exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party through buyer, for any
breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities.
BIDDING:
Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve. The
auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids and his decision
will be final.
TERMS:
Terms of the sale are cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements
have been made with vendor previous to the sale.
PURCHASER’S RISK:
Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold; but it
shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and
cared for, free of charge to purchaser for a specified length of time.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY:
A transferred certificate of registry will be furnished to the purchaser
for each animal at no cost to the buyer within sixty (60) days after settlement. Give full name and address to secretary when making payments so the Certificate of Registry will be transferred properly.
HEALTH:
All animals are eligible for interstate shipping except for those otherwise noted. Interstate health papers will be furnished for each animal
requiring T.B. and Bangs tests in accordance with Federal Regulations.
A verification of vaccination will be furnished for each animal under 2
years of age that has been vaccinated for Bangs disease.
AI SERVICE CERTIFICATES:
AI Service Certificates shall be furnished by the seller, at no cost to
the buyer, for all females bred artificially to bulls not owned by the
seller.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Any changes from information of any kind in this catalog will be
announced from the auction box and such announcements shall take
precedence.
BREEDING GUARANTEE:
1. All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception purchaser after sale (in cases of animals shown such as agreed upon
between the seller and the buyer), or (c) in the event of (1) injury or
disease occurring after sale or (2) gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of purchaser.
2. SAFE IN CALF FEMALES have been examined by a competent
technician and are so guaranteed.
3. SERVED FEMALES are believed to be in calf but are not so guaranteed.
4. PASTURE BRED FEMALES have been exposed but are not guaranteed to be in calf.
5. OPEN FEMALES have not been served and are so guaranteed.
OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT:
1. All claims for adjustment or return must be made in writing within
six months of the sale date or no later than six months of age.
2. If a female sold as “safe in calf” proves not to be in calf, the purchaser may receive the services from the bull previously used, if available; or if the bull is not available, the seller shall be obligated to make
satisfactory adjustment on the purchase price to the buyer, or at the
buyer’s option, refund the purchase price upon the return of the animal to the seller in healthy condition.
3. Any animal that has not proven itself a breeder within the time limits specified above, if in healthy condition, may be returned to seller
at buyer’s expense. The seller reserves the right and privilege of trying
for a period of six months to prove the animal a breeder. If proven a
breeder, the animal will be returned at buyer’s expense. Should the
animal fail to breed, the buyer at his option, may either demand
return of the purchase price or replacement of the animal or pair with
another of equal value. In case a pair is returned because the cow is
determined a nonbreeder, calf must also be returned.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS:
(A) The above terms and conditions of sale constitute a contract
between the buyers and sellers of each animal and shall be equally
binding upon both.
(B) Animals resold following purchase in this sale constitute a separate transaction, and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this
sale.
(C) All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and the
owners or any person connected with the management of the sale or
sale facility assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents
which may occur.
