SPOTLIGHT #3 In July 2012, the CSSA Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution in favor of Proposition 30, an initiative to temporarily raise income and sales taxes in order to balance the state budget and reinvest in public education. CSSA @csustudents: Student turnout in CA is looking good! it could be a deciding factor for Prop. 30. Keep pushing your campuses to go vote!! SPOTLIGHT #3 | PROP. 30 As a result of the passage of Proposition 30, the CSU system avoided a $250 million ‘trigger cut’ which subsequently would have caused an increase in tution and a decrease in enrollment. In November 2012, CSU students celebrated the passage of Proposition 30. CSU students received a tuition refund of $249, which rolled tuition levels back to $5,472 per year for full-time students. instadisneyy via Instagram #prop30 SPOTLIGHT #4 CSSA coordinated a statewide voter registration campaign for the November 2012 national election.
