The appearance of the latest generation of
digital backs has shown the limits of some
conventional camera designs. The ALPA 12 XY
(for the shift axes X and Y) is designed to meet
the requirements of the latest backs and is
fully integrated into the ALPA 12 platform. Like
all ALPA 12 models the XY can be used with
digital backs as well as with roll-film backs up
to format 6x9. The XY is specially designed for
work on a tripod where it allows for max. 70
mm continuously variable vertical shift and –
simultaneously – for max. 50 mm continuously
variable horizontal shift. In addition
and with digital backs there is a
uniquely precise stitching facility. The
two shifting sleds never go beyond
the closed camera body’s frame and
are guided on roller bearings
throughout. Only very limited use has
been made of textile
materials for the light sealing
to minimize the danger of
catching and disseminating
dust inside the camera body.

The Linhof M 679 has
now been modified to
become model M 679cs without
changing the complete compatibility. With this
compact Linhof View Camera System every
advanced photographer is free to select the
commonly used digital backs as well as backs for
6x6 to 6x9 cm.
The Linhof M 679cs is now offering micro drives
for lateral and horizontal shifts at the lens standard.
The integrated panorama bench holder now features
a stepless lateral levelling of 10° each left and right
by means of self-aligning micro drives.

TECHNICAL
The ALPA 12 SWA (ShiftWide Angle)
foundation is rock-solid, much can be built. All four
platforms share compatibility throughout the system. All
lenses, accessories and adapters work on all models. ALPA
12 is a modular platform, a coherent concept. It is not for
everyone, it is for those who demand The Best – and all
without compromise. It is not “for one Summer” but for
today and for the future.
‘S’ ACCESSORY FITTING
NEW Instead of a 4 point attachment for the Basic Lighthood (002763) and the
adapter frame for the Arca Swiss bino-magnifier (001105), the new Groundglass
Back 001698-S has now been modified. A third groove in front of the groundglass
screen slot has been added thus greatly facilitating the handling and therefore
providing more stability when using the lighthood or the adapter frame with the new
codes 002763-S and 001105-S.
As the Rapid Change Adapter Slides (002765-S and 002766-S) are supplied with
integrated groundglass back (001698-S) the above modification is also integrated in
the slides.

ALPA 12 TC
calibrated on a collimator. This means dozens of digital and
roll-film backs can be exchanged quickly, all fully
compatible, all fitting seamlessly to all ALPA 12 models.
With minimal tolerances using materials from the aerospace
industry and cut from solid blocks, a level of precision is
achieved that is perfect for optimum use of conventional
and particularly of digital backs.
