BOONARAAAS - More knick-a-knacks for your bric-a-brac LP Soundflat Records 11,90
The Boonaraaas!!! are wild and spirited all girl 60’s Punkrock from Germany; these four energetic ladies deliver
exciting 60’s Garage music with wild guitars, fine melodies, great riot grrrl-vocals - and everything with a proper
Punkrock attitude. The band exist for more than 15 years now, delivering untamed and powerful live-shows all over
Europe. They previously released three LPs and various 7’s on THUNDERBABY RECORDS and SOUNDS OF
SUBTERRANIA and now their latest LP MORE KNICK-A-KNACKS FOR YOUR BRIC-A-BRAC SHELF is released
on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS. The songs ‘Beat Rakete’ (the only song with German lyrics on the album) and ‘Jacky’
are catchy hits, which you’ll find yourself playing over and over again. Fuzzy guitars, a wild Garage-attitude, a bit of
60’s organ and a great deal of trashy Punkrock-sound is what you can expect to hear on this album; all of which is
recorded with vintage equipment. As usual the girls also included a few rocking cover-songs on the album: ‘I Couldn’t
Care Less’ (The Modern Redcaps), ‘If I really bug you’ (Jose Feliciano), ‘Just a little Teardrop’ (The Pussycats), ‘Run
Better Run’ (The Cheepskates), ‘When You Find Out’ (The Nerves), ‘I can never tell’ (The Crawdaddys), and as
usual they added their own BOONARAAAS!!!-touch to it, that one simply cannot resist. MORE KNICK-A-KNACKS
FOR YOUR BRIC-A-BRAC SHELF is yet another brilliant 60’s Garagepunk-record by this charming female quartet
from Germany that we’ve awaited longingly.

SOUNDFLAT RECORDS is proud to welcome the renowned four-piece Garage-Punk combo from Denver - THE
OMENS - to the ‘Soundflat-family’ with their latest LP FUZZ FADES AND ESCAPADES. Through their wild liveperformances and two preceding LPs and several 7’’s released on HIPSVILLE RECORDS, they are well known
to play intense, fuzzed-out, primitive Rock with some extra psychedelic influence; a raw and very American rootsdriven Garagepunk-band. FUZZ FADES AND ESCAPADES is an album that will thrill you all! All eleven songs are
the band’s own compositions. Wild guitars, shaking beats, screaming vocals and here and there a few swirling
organ elements. While songs like ‘Settle Down’ or ‘You’re No Good’ are savage, fast 60’s Garagepunk-songs, ‘On
Your Mind’ for instance is more of a Pop-Punkhymn and ‘So Far Down’ again has more psychedelic elements. The
powerful energy the band always conveys on stage is excellently reflected on this noisy Garagepunk-record. FUZZ
FADES AND ESCAPADES by THE OMENS is a killer-album and strong combination of R&B, Beat and GaragePsych-Punk that will make each and every one of you go wild!

After THE STAGS, Wigan has a new musical gem to offer now: THE SHOOK-UPS! play finest amped-up Garagerock
with a psychedelic influence in the manner of bands like THE MUSIC MACHINE or THE SEEDS. Anyone who’s seen
them play live before will know how amazing and at the same time funny their shows are; a perfect sound paired
with some entertaining, eccentric and infectious dancefloor action! The band is made up of ex-members of MOCO,
THE STAGS, DOKTOR COMBOVER and The V.C.s and released their debut 7’’ on ROTOSONIC RECORDS in
a very limited edition. Their first LP BAD RECEPTION is now released on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS. This album
will captivate you immediately with its dirty fuzz grooves, pounding beats, a lot of farfisa organ and a psychedelic
touch. Songs such as ‘Second to None’ and ‘New Confession’ sound as if they were missing songs on the Pebblesor Back From The Grave- Compilations; these guys from North West England definitely know how to write and
make great music, that makes you dance and jump. Aside from their own compositions they included a superb
cover-version of the Garagepunk-classic ‘No reason to complain’ by THE ALARM CLOCKS. If you like fuzzy, organ
driven 60’s Garagepunk with psych-elements you will love THE SHOOK-UPS! with their fantastic debut album BAD

Here it comes: volume 6 of the supplementary CD-compilation of Soundflat Records’ annual label festival, the
BALLROOM BASH! As usual you get a fantastic musical synopsis of this wild weekend; each of the six performing
bands (The Omens, The Minnesota Voodoo Men, The Jackets, The Shook-Ups, The Boonaraaas!!!, The Cavemen
V) picked four songs for this low-priced CD, some of which are previously unreleased. This is not only a must-havesouvenir for every Ballroom Basher, but also a wonderful mixture of contemporary 60’s Garagepunk/Merseybeat/
Hammond/R&B/R’n’R-bands, which all released some fine music on the 10year-old label

Do you fancy some hip-shakin’ 60’s Beat, too? Or maybe, you just wanna dance ecstatically, shout and scream in
frenzy? Rightly so, then we certainly can help you out with the first long-playing record by Switzerland’s one and
only kingly renowned garage band - THE ROYAL HANGMEN. The album contains 11 self-penned songs, full of
tempestuous and raw energy, with plenty of hooklines, verve and style. Songs that are soaked with a sixties spirit,
but were made in the here and now. It’s all in there: fuzz-guitars, VOX organs, snarling vocals, throbbing bass and
rattling drums - always short, tight and efficient. And that’s exactly how the odd garage record should sound. Their
self-titled debut was painstakingly produced by David Langhard (aka Admiral James T.) with much love for the detail
and with heavy use of analogue equipment. Hailing from Zurich, THE ROYAL HANGMEN started eight years ago to
proclaim the gospel of garage rock. First a simple cover-band, they soon found their own style and tunes and finally
some attention amongst the international 60’s/retro scene. Their first 45 single Mary Jane was released back in 2009
on Greek label Lost In Tyme. Lots of concerts in France and native Switzerland followed thereafter, culminating in a
support slot for the mighty SONICS. It took them some time to record their first proper album, but it was definitely
worth the wait. So get on your go-go boots, put that marvellous wax on the turntable and shake your hips to the
driving Turn Me On, the frantic Mary Jane, the melodic She’s Gone or Get Out Of My Way and all the other smashing
tracks on this record, until you reach the final comedown with the moody, psychedelic “Wake Up”. What a trip. If you
go bananas listening to bands like the SHADOWS OF KNIGHT, the ZAKARY THAKS, the BAD SEEDS, the CYNICS
and the STAGGERS, this one’s for you babe! It’s fab! It’s groovy - It’s THE ROYAL HANGMEN! Now - exclusively on

SOUNDFLAT!! Could there be a title more suitable for a new record by our beloved SUGAR STEMS than “Can’t
Wait”? This is exactly how most of us - i.e. people with a soft spot for a well-crafted, non-pretentious pop-song - felt
constantly while we have been eagerly awaiting a new album by Milwaukee’s finest. Granted, there have been two
singles released on Certified PR a little earlier this year which ripped every powerpop-aficionado apart, but in a
cultural realm that is filled with flavorless white bread, possibly not even a SUGAR STEMS single could fill your belly.
So we digested that charmingly poppy gems pretty soon and have been hungry for more of their artistic handcraft
since. And here we are, the probably best contemporary powerpop-outfit once again has put superhuman power in
its creative genius and will hit your taste with a hit load of bullets, each and everyone of which would make up for a
potential single’s a-side and chart-stormer if this was a better world. Shout it from the top of a roof, The Wisconsin
Sugar Rush rampants without restraint; it will get you hooked on an overall buzzing sound and insanely catchy
vocals as sweet as cotton candy, on pumping basslines and cracking drums - driven by a firecracker lead guitar.
Their sound is enriched with tons of brilliant melodies and euphoric harmonies to the maximum; Drew and Betsy’s
two-part singing chimes together as perfectly as you might expect from a band that we put faith in as the saving
grace of rock’n’roll. And by rock’n’roll I mean that kind of music that you feel familiar with, that you hear for the first
time and wish you had listen to while growing up. Certainly, it would have carried you through all the hardships as
well as all the emotional high points of adolescence. Weeping yourself to sleep, giving your first love a peck, waiting
for the bus on a sunny September day - THE SUGAR STEMS deliver the proper soundtrack for any romanticized
image of teenage, but still they should not and cannot be reducible to the naive idea of bubblegummy, empty pop-suit
bought off the peg. It’s the serious approach to a feel-good-sound that is alive in the here and now, that will make you
wanna canoodle your beloved no matter what age you are, and, above all, that stood the test of time. They are like
a bubblegum that would never lose its taste, they are the re-embodiment of twangy, infectious Midwest-powerpop
soaked in deliriously sweet melodies, they epitomize the glory your favorite ‘50s and ‘60s nuggets established
decades ago, they deliver lyrics that oscillate between edgy, sneering smartness and lovelorn rhapsody and which
are of a kind that everybody can relate to. Yet again, to put it in one term, the SUGAR STEMS are splendid! Big
time! You will dig this record, unless you are a Martian. Well, perhaps even most Martians will dig “Can’t Wait”. Dear

Whether for the fan or the novice of this Finnish trio extraordinaire: Here’s the ultimate set of 22-Pistepirkko, compiled
due to (re-)explore their unique character and follow them through their juggle with Garage R’n’R, Pop, Rock,
Electronica, Blues, Psychedelic, Folk and the unexplored, spanning from 1986 to 2012, (incl. unreleased single

With a nod to 60’s beach blanket pop gems and bonfire folk songs, Cayucas hits the waves runnin’, causing
involuntary head bobs, finger snaps, toe-taps and the ability to shake your booty like it’s strapped to a brand new
set of maracas. Producer/multi-instrumentalist Richard Swift deftly captures Yudin’s inimitable voice as it echoes
through the barrel of the perfect wave. It’s a song for the ages for sure. The B-side “Swimsuit” continues to carry
the torch, with its cocktail-lounge organ flourishes painting a picture of young, carefree days spent pining for your
summer love. Enjoy just a hint of the party that’s still to come, and let Cayucas take you to your inner sanctum where

COWBELL are Jack Sandham and Wednesday Lyle.The duo play garage/soul/rock’n’roll and write songs that
combine a lyrical charm and ease with a sound that’s full-bodied and powerful in spite of their stripped-down set-up.
They take their influences from both sides of the Atlantic with a love for both the output of U.S labels such as Stax,
Motown and Sun and for British sixties R&B bands such as The Small Faces, The Kinks and The Zombies.

Their debut album Super Real marks a coming of age for The DomNicks. Forged by Perth based Dom Mariani and
Nick Sheppard, the band is a powerful blend of swagger ‘n’ roll rock, soul and pop smarts. Mariani is best known
as the driving force behind The Stems, DM3 and The Someloves, while Sheppard’s pedigree boasts 80’s Bristol
punks The Cortinas and thereafter as Mick Jones’ replacement in the 1983-86 line-up of The Clash. In 2007 the pair
teamed up with Howard Shawcross (The Elks, The Riptides) on bass and Marz Frisina on drums, quickly developing
into a very ‘hang loose’ combo. Playing a mix of Dom and Nick’s originals with a spread of 60’s and 70’s garage and
soul classics, they are a band of seasoned players punching well above their collective musical weight. Super Real
continues in the tradition of The DomNicks’ previous recording, Hey Rock ‘n’ Roller (Off The Hip 2009). Expanding
on Hey Rock ‘n’ Roller’s gutsy guitar driven sound, Super Real takes a ride through blues, soul, funk, and classic
guitar pop influences to create one seamless musical journey fuelled by the vim and vigour of a noble era. Among
the 12 tracks you’ll find the Exile era Stones’ sound of Reconcile, the brazen brass and swing of Let’s Go Baby, soul
flavours in I Wonder What You’re Doin’ Now, the straight ahead rollicking of Miracle and tantalising twists and turns
of the electric sitar driven Winter. It’s bound to cause the head and heart to shake.

New CD by one of the best bands in Spain. Another great exercise of love for true rock’n’roll with a collection of hits
fueled by the spirit of The Real Kids, The Dictators, Nikki & The Corvettes (amazing female voices included in some
of their songs), The Barracudas, MC5... We’ll never get tired recommending this band to all our friends, if you wanna
have a real good party, get you a copy of this masterpiece.
ELECTRIC MOON - Inferno CD Sulatron 15,50
A deep journey to your inner worlds... 2 ,songs”, together more than 66 minutes, pierce deep into your
subconsciousness, while the music stopps being only music... Recorded in the beginning of 2011 and released in
small quantities as CD-R once, this album now sees the worlds light as official release. Komet Lulu (bass, effects,
artwork), Sula Bassana (guitar, effects, organ, recording) and Alex (drums), have captivated a meditative and ecstatic
trip - on a record. ,Mental Record” indicates with its more than 14 minutes, where the trip ,Inferno” will take you.
,Inferno”, the yet longest official Electric Moon track. The listeners on youtube were asking so hard for this release
that we decided just to do it - so here you are: INFERNO! More than 160.000 (!) plays on youtube were reason
enough... So fasten your seatbelts and enter this spaceship - but be careful, youve been addicted right now...
FLESHTONES - (Aka Los Fleshtones) Quatro x quatro LP Yep Roc 15,20
FINALLLYYYY!!! The Fleshtones recorded Quatro x Quatro last February while on tour in Gijon, Spain. The all-new
limited-edition vinyl-only EP includes four songs recorded in Spanish, and was co-produced by longtime friend of the
band and former member of the Spanish rock sensation Dr. Explosion, Jorge Munoz-Cobo Gonzalez. Finally taking
Gonzalez up on his offer to record in his studio with vintage gear, they recorded the EP with little time to spare.
FREDDY & THE FILOS - Same 10 Cowabunga 12,50
Debut mini-lp by this new combo from sunny Seville. A raw machine fueled by 50’s & 60’s r’n’r but with a ‘77 punk
rock attitude. Known as one of the wildest live act in the south of Spain, their sound mix Roy Orbison with The Clash,
Elvis with The Ramones, doo-wop classics with The Cramps, and hey, it works fuc**** good! 10 song including
covers of Johnnie Burnette, The Barons and Norman Fox & The Rob-Roys.

Tracy Lee Summer, from Barreiro, Portugal, seems from Detroit, Cleveland or Memphis. They’ve always been
compared to the “Houserockin’ of the Gories, “Soul Food” of the Oblivians and the Fireworks of “Set the World
on Fire”. You shouldn’t ask for anything else! Greasy & Grizzly, one of Los Chicos’ guitarrist’s side project, are a
couple of hicks mixing the best rhythm&blues with the wildest primitive garage/punk. Little Richard, Mermelada, Dr
Feelgood & Oblivians are some of their influences.
HIPBONE SLIM & THE KNEE TREMBLERS - Hipbone Slim vs DoCD Dirty Water 15,50
For your aural delectation, we have assembled no less than four of the Bald Bomber’s top notch musical combos on
this 40 track long set, which runs the full gamut of rock’n’roll styles. On the first of this two-CD set you will find 20 cuts,
previously unreleased on compact disc format, by HIPBONE SLIM & THE KNEETREMBLERS, a band that plays
proper rock’n’roll! Alongside Sir Bald (aka Hipbone Slim) is Bruce Brand (drums), one of Britain’s if not the world’s
finest rock’n’roll drummers, a veteran of such bands as THE MILKSHAKES and THEE HEADCOATS, alongside
Billy Childish, as well as Holly Golightly’s band, THE MASONICS, and more. Gastus Receedus (bass/harmonica),
has played in many a band (BIG WIGS, AROUSERS, PLAYBOYS, etc) and worked with many a rock’n’roll legend.
Meanwhile, on the other disc in this super-deluxe set, you will find LOUIE & THE LOUIES, THE KNEEJERK
REACTIONS and THE LEGS. This really is a true battle of the bands! Albeit in a somewhat schizophrenic’ manner!
LOUIE & THE LOUIES, as the name might suggest play frat rock type tunes and surf instrumentals. The band
features one of Britain’s most dynamic rhythm sections, Matt “Sleepy Louie” Radford on bass guitar and Brian
“Ramblin’” Louie Nevill on drums. Between them they have worked with many celebrated, fantastic and influential
rhythm’n’blues and rock’n’roll acts. LOUIE & THE LOUIES have a couple of 45s and can also be heard on “Sir
Bald’s Hairy Guitar” on Beast Records. THE KNEEJERKS REACTIONS are sworn enemies of Hipbone Slim and, in
fact, all rockabillies, greasers, cats and teddy boys, arch hipsters and beatsters, dare I say it modsters the dandified
KNEEJERK REACTIONS feature the East End savy of Les Lerrard on bass and general “heavy” duties, plus Ronnie
Drand on drums and general “light” duties.

It’s an honour to release an album of one of the most important garage bands of the world, consisting of British scene

Masonics,). After releasing many albums in some of the most important R&R labels in the world, they’ve recorded 10
songs for this 10’, referred by the band as some of the best songs they’ve ever written, a good mix of R&B, blues,

On June of 2010, Los Chicos were interviewed on ‘Hoy Empieza Todo’, in Radio 3, Spain’s National Radio and there
they played 5 of their songs on acoustic format with banjo, washboard, mandolin and acoustic guitar. Among jokes,
releasing an ep with these songs was discussed on the air, but there are certain things you should not joke about
with Los Chicos because they’ll do it, so, despite the tardiness, here are those 5 songs recorded live in one take, just
the way they were broadcasted, and only mastered by that American genius called Mike Mariconda, to make these
45 rpm vinyl slices sound like old American music does. That is what you’ll find here: country, redneck, hick covers
of five songs from different moments of Los Chicos career.

Raised in the world-famous Madrid rockandroll neighbourhood of Malasana in the late 80s, these guys swam against
the tide from the beginning. While everybody was into the garage revival, what they really liked was The Beatles,
Los Brincos, The Byrds or The Animals... they were in love with beat, r&b and folk-rock, waht could they do? Later
they experimented with psychedelia, created a delightful “poperetta” (one of the truly masterpieces of Spanish pop)
and went back to roots dancing to black sounds until they decided to take a rest of 10 years! ... they came back in
good shape in 2007 bringing a perfect powerpop record under their arms and found their natural home in Sunny
Day Records. In 2011 they gave us the wonderful ‘En Espiral’, a masterpiece with great pop compositions, garage
shouts, psychedelic flavours, Spanish beat, a touch of soul music and hammond-ladden instro dancers. A colourful
palette to show all that’s in the band’s heart & soul. From those recording sessions we have rescued two unissued

project of multi-instrumentalist and hyperactive Nick Nicotine, member of the legendary garage band The Act-Ups,
and director of the internationally acclaimed Barreiro Rocks Festival. Nicotine records all instruments and voices on
a collection of great songs, a ‘real jukebox of soul and rock classics that history still doesn’t know’, in the words of
Mário Lopes of Ipsilon.

Oscar Avendano, member of Siniestro Total (one of the most important bands in Spain for the last 30 years) since
2001, has also been a member of many other bands as guitarist, bassist or singer for the last 20 years. He now

Beautiful sessions, but didn’t quite fit with the album’s theme. However it does fit well into Prophet’s cannon of great
rock n roll songs.

The third album by The Setting Son, a project that started out as a solo project for Sebastian T.W. Kristiansen who
recorded more than 50 songs in his flat in Copenhagen on his 4-track tape recorder. Lorenzo Woodrose from Baby
Woodrose got hold of the tapes and handed them over to Bad Afro Records, who released the first two albums
with Lorenzo Woodrose as producer. The Setting Son have since then become a real band with their own take on
psychedelic garage pop that is both blue-eyed and bittersweet. The songwriter, Sebastian T.W. Kristiansen has an
ear for good tunes, and his characteristic voice and songwriting skills make The Setting Son stand out among the
many bands today that are inspired by psychedelic music from the ‘60s. ‘Before I Eat My Eyes & Ears’ is more varied
than the early material and more time has been spent on the details. The album is produced by Sebastian T.W.
Kristiansen and The Setting Son in the Orangeriet studio in Copenhagen and the result is a more mature record that

Andre Williams began a very prolific and creative phase of his life when he finally got off booze and drugs. His intake
of various substances was excessive, unrelenting, and dated back to at least the 1960’s, when he was working
extensively with Ike Turner. Reflecting on his very first drug-and-alcohol-free studio session in 2009, Andre says, “It
was traumatic. It was like someone shot me out in space and I woke up on Pluto!” Andre Williams’ new album “Life”
was recorded this past winter in Detroit, the city where his musical career first began in the 1950’s. Andre’s new
songs are his latest experiments and explorations outside of the garage-soul bag that he’s often associated with.
Produced by Matthew Smith, the album’s sonic palette recalls the work of Norman Whitfield’s Motown productions,
70’s Rolling Stones, Can, Bill Withers, Serge Gainsbourg, as well as Andre’s own doo-wop and funk history. “Life”
finds Andre in a pretty upbeat mood, whether he’s singing about people being rude and impatient (“But’n”), or
laying down a political commentary (“Blame it on Obama”), reciting a children’s bedtime story (“Ty the Fly”), singing
a simple love song (“Stuck in the Middle”, “It’s Only You That I Love”), or conjuring a nocturnal fetish-sex-groove
(“Heels”). The album also includes his own definitive rocking version of the standard he wrote and produced for the

ADVERTS - Anthology DoCD Fire 12,50
“Anthology” might well be the best Adverts album you’ll ever find -- bar none. There are no surprises within the track
listing, nor are there any omissions. Between 1977 and their split in 1979, The Adverts recorded 26 songs, spread
across seven singles and two albums, and all of them are here. Where things get interesting is in compiler (and
lead vocalist) TV Smith’s decision to draw the 26 from across the group’s entire vocabulary. Several of the singles
appeared in decidedly different versions on LP -- Smith selects whichever he thinks was most representative. Other
familiar takes are replaced by BBC session versions: The Adverts made four appearances on John Peel’s nightly
show, and the highlights here, all dating from their 1978-1979 sessions, are genuinely among the best things the
band recorded. Finally, anybody nursing happy memories of The Adverts’ live sound will be thrilled by the inclusion
of a bonus disc repeating a dozen songs from a show in early 1977. (Originally released as Live at the Roxy, the
fully remastered disc has been accurately retitled NOT Live at the Roxy -- it actually dates from a show somewhere
else entirely). Thrilling, too, is the accompanying booklet, featuring Smith’s own thoughts on each of the songs,
together with a clutch of previously unpublished photos by Ray Stevenson, a full discography, and line-up info. In
other words, it’s precisely the kind of all-encompassing document that this most precious of first-wave punk bands
has been crying out for all along. Best-of albums simply don’t get better than this.

with a title track dating back to Kurt’s days with the LEFTOVERS, Want You Around ((the record)) wastes little time
in titillating the user’s privates with ‘Want You Around’ ((the song)), a power pop epistle of the morse-code-guitarsand-harmonies tenor that sounds like it coulda been someone’s breakout FM hit in 1981, if God were thirty years

CHIMIKS - Modern storm LP Frantic City 13,20
When the Fatals broke-up, Vince Posadzki, ex-Viperes, Aqua Nebula Oscillator, Bop Pop Killers and many others,
originally from Quebec, moved to Paris where he started the Chimiks along with Louie Louie (Happy Burger) on
bass and Ronnie Rollo (originally from La Rochelle, he played in a local cult Punk Rock band called Weak!!) on
drums. It took them little time to record and put out a first 7” single limited to 250 copies on Élégances Records
and then Slovenly put out their first 8-track eponymous mini-LP. This one was recorded at home, was super trash
and fuzzy and sounded a lot like the “Free Cocaine” Dwarves: dirty, straight-in-your-face type of shit! Now the new
LP, “Modern Strom”, has been recorded in Toulouse, France, with Lo’Spider and Mike Mariconda (who playd in the
Raunch Hands, Devil Dogs... and recorded a number of records for Crypt including the New Bomb Turks’ first LPs!)
who came up from Spain to help Mister Spider capture the wild and savage sounds of the Chimiks. Of course their
collaboration was explosive and the sound on this record is fantastic! 10 new tracks that still reek of the good old
bloody Dwarves but also bring to mind uncompromising bands such as the Dirtys, Reatards and Motards. Most
certainly the best sound-track to the end of the world that’s actually coming in a few months now they say!! This one

Back in 2010, Combomatix, the trashy Garage duo from Rennes, Bretagne, chose Frantic City to release their first
7”. Now two years later they’re still on Frantic City and they’re back with their first album after a split 7” with Brussels’
own White Fangs which came out in 2011. Ten new tracks recorded in Toulouse with Lo’Spider, great improvement
that’s for sure, a bit less trash and a bit more crunch! They did a great job with the guitars and this is by far the best
thing they produced to this day. Their early recordings most certainly brought to mind bands such as the Oblivians
or Gories, now these new tracks drenched in reverb got more of an Oh-Sees feeling.

Parables is the new offering by Ottawa Crusades. After their highly acclaimed first full lenght The Sun Is Down And
The Night Is Riding In , this two songs 7? takes the band to a new step. For those who are still not familiar with the
music of the quartet, Crusades has a strong punk rock base but draws his inspiration from various hardcore/punk
subgenres. The band develops their own musical universe with great song-writing, great sense of melody and
multiple vocals. These two tracks combine a large dose of energy and catchiness to a certain kind of melancholy
and darkness. Like in their previous releases, the band’s lyrics challenge religions with a personnal approach.

Help Me Devil marks the return of Juan Carlos Parlange, a key player in Spanish punk rock in the ‘90s, as leader
of two of the most important bands in those days (Los Clavos and Los Bonzos). This goes back to his roots, with a
sound that is both classic and primitive, like the great albums of 1950s and ‘60s rock’n’roll. It was recorded in New
York with the production genius of Matt Verta-Ray (Heavy Trash, Speedball Baby) and mastering by Ivan Julian

“Death Message Blues”, the powerful new album from UK swamp blues band THE INCA BABIES, was released
on Black Lagoon Records on 21st October 2010. It was their fifth studio album in a career spanning 28 years and
marked their full return to live performance after the death of founder member bassist Bill Marten. Originally formed
in Manchester in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Harry Stafford and bassist Bill Marten, the band released four
albums and recorded four sessions for the BBC’s legendary John Peel Show before splitting in 1988. Reuniting in
2007, Stafford and Marten recruited Gold Blade drummer Rob Haynes, but work on the new album was halted by
Marten’s sudden death in 2008. After a period of reflection, it was decided to complete the work that Marten had
begun, with the band’s long-time friend Vince Hunt (A Witness) taking over on bass. This line-up has since played
London, Warsaw, Milan, Los Angeles and the Drop Dead festival in Lithuania, earning a reputation for powerful live
performances. Death Message Blues’ features twelve new tracks penned by Harry S. casting a net across fast and
spiky r’n’b, swamp blues, bastard country and punk power. Lyrically, the songs observe usual Inca traits of wild
characters, ghosts and murderous stories, with reflections too on the passing of Inca founding member, bassist Bill
Marten. Recorded in Manchester with sonic relish by Tim Woodward at his Courtyard Studios, this Album not so
much left off where the incas paused 20 years early but has launched them into the 21st century with a renewed
vigour and lust for swamp rock and trashman’s blues.

30 years. This is what it has taken for this record to see the light as an official release and on deluxe double vinyl
format. Originally released in the early 80s in Australia only as a bootleg cassette, “Rubber never sleeps” has now
been properly mastered, sounding remarkably improved and reviewed by The Scientists. This deluxe edition is
accompanied with texts by Kim Salmon (Scientists, Beasts Of Bourbon, Kim Salmon & The Surrealists ...), James

HEARTS, The MUFFS, The UNLOVABLES... The four songs included offer us some clean sounding production,
which helps greatly intensify the weight of the shredded guitars that drive each track. These guitars sit heavily

a laugh 20 years ago with two utterly live, mono, vinyl only LP releases on Billy Childish’s gorgeously luddite record
label, Hangman. Ever enduring outsiders, it’s likely they are now the world’s longest serving, truly amateur, original
musical group. Their very creative strength is derived from ordinary lives of day jobs, families and mortgages.
Perversely un-ambitious, they remain untainted, uncorrupted, and above all else, still doing it for the reason they
started doing it - Love. This album marks a change in the bands sound, nothing too drastic but it’s a bigger, ballsier

planning, and altered states of mind led Yes Mistress to record this gem of a debut 7’ that sounds like a crack head
falling into a pile of trashcans. Hooray! ‘Gunna Get Arrested’ is reckless, trashy, and free: an anthem for everyone
who gets up every morning and drives their car with no license, is drunk all the time, etc. Knees on the ground,

BAKER, LAVERN - La Vern LP Rumble 14,50
Coming at a time when jazz singing was slowly evolving into an erthier, more emotionally fervent style known as
rhythm and blues, Lavern Baker’s debut album on Atlantic, dated 1956, proved her to be one of the key vocalists
who furthered that transition. The niece of legendary blues singer Memphis Minnie, Baker was blessed with a
powerful, soul-tinged voice that she put to use as since his teens under the stage name ‘Miss Sharecropper’ and
made her achieve a signing with Atlantic in 1953. Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990, Lavern was
one of the most successful R&B artists of her era.

Two complimenting female vocal sides twinned here. On one side you have Betty O’ Brien’s ‘She’ll Be Gone’ a
drama-laden piece of early soul laden with strings and big production values. On the back, Kitty Ford’s moody ‘Blue
Diamond Ring’ revolves around a similar low-slung guitar riff and once again there are strings and backing vocals a
plenty. While the vocals and accents contrast, both sides are pure popcorn from the highest shelf!

IT’S TAKEN 35 YEARS, BUT IT’S WORTH THE WAIT! Welcome to the second set of 45s in our exclusive CameoParkway re-issue series. It was some 35 years ago, that Decca’s London subsidiary released Yvonne Baker, Bobby
Paris and Bunny Sigler, and now, finally, Outta Sight is proud to make them available again. First in line is Yvonne
Baker’s cherished classic “You Didn’t Say A Word”. With its haunting James Bond riff it is fitting that this special
reissue coincides with Bond’s 50th Anniversary. The B-side sees the first ever reissue of Hattie Winston’s rarity
“Picture Don’t Lie”. Our second 45 features the oiginal coupling of Northern Soul’s signature song “Night Owl”
by Bobby Paris. Last but not least, Bunny Sigler’s floor-packer “Girl Don’t Make Me Wait” coupled with the vastly
underrated “Follow Your Heart”.

We first featured Camille Howard quite a few releases back on JBJ 1017, with the steamy, sensual blues rumba of
‘Shrinking Up Fast’, a track which also features on our ‘Jukebox Mambo’ compilation (Out November). We’ve now
returned to the great Miss Howard for another two amazing sides of Latin edged Rhythm & Blues, both recorded
for the Specialty label and previously available on 78rpm only. Such is the quality of both tracks, this is really a
double A release as we couldn’t really decide which we preferred between the playful, rhumboogie of ‘Fiesta In
Old Mexico’ and the deeper, exotic jazz sound of ‘Within This Heart Of Mine’. Either way, rest assured both tracks
are smoking hot killers, with slinky Latin style percussion giving way to rolling boogie woogie piano and Camille
Howard’s superior sultry vocals all combining to great effect.
CHARLES SHEFFIELD - I got fever 7 Jukebox Jam 8,20
Well known for the evergreen R&B club classic ‘It’s Your Voodoo Working’, here’s a less well known number from
the Lake Charles, Louisiana born Charles ‘Mad Dog’ Sheffield that’s every bit as ripe for the dancefloor. A tasty midtempo mover with a shuffling bayou rumba, the reason this is not so well known could just be that it originally went
unissued by the Goldband label Sheffield recorded it for, first appearing in rather low-fidelity form on an 80s comp.
Now restored to its original audio beauty from the original masters and pressed here using the late 50s Goldband
label artwork with permission, ‘I Got Fever’ has finally landed the 45rpm release it deserves and hopefully the
dancefloor exposure will follow quickly! On the flip side, you get Sheffield’s twanging swamp blues cut ‘Isabella’,
another unissued gem from the Goldband studio!
CLARENCE GARLOW - New bon ton roulay 7 Jukebox Jam 8,20
Two all-time classic, seminal Rumba-laden R&B sides backed together for the first time. Texan born guitarist and
vocalist Clarence Garlow first cut ‘Bon Ton Roula’ in 1950 for local label Macy’s. A unique piece of music laced with
Cajun slang (‘Bon Ton Roula’ translates to ‘Good Times Roll’, as in ‘Let The...’) and set to a heavily played, clattering
Rumba drum track. The song became a regional hit and perhaps Garlow’s signature piece. Originally a 78 only
release, this appears on 45 for the first time. Such was the song’s popularity that he returned to it a number of times
with his own answer records. We thus feature ‘New Bon Ton Roulay’ on the A-side, a jazzier, less frenetic version,
originally cut in 1953 for the Aladdin label in LA, and sounding just as cool and hep all these years later...

DAVID HILL / LITTLE ESTHER - Wild child 7 Jukebox Jam 8,20
Back to back, two killer versions of the same track, each distinct but complimentary takes. A lesser known side
for the legendary Little Esther but she is at her slinkiest with her feline vocals drawling out an atmospheric bluesy
rendition over an insistent horn and rolling drum riff, while David Hill’s version is a little more energetic as it moves
along on a catchy rock and roll backing. Whichever you prefer, both sides are heavy-hitting R&B sides making this
another sure-fire twin-spin win from the Popcorn stable!
DEL SHANNON - Runaway LP Rumble 14,50
Compiled mostly to take advantage of the title track single’s number one chart position, Del Shannon’s debut album
came out as one of the few great Rock And Roll albums to be released in America in 1961. Runaway, a forlorn tale
of lost love, its rippling piano accompaniment driven by guitar, saxophone and bass rhythm section, guaranteed him
a place in the annals of rock’n’roll. While his vocal style, which veered from silky smooth to a wicked rasp before
taking off into a soaring falsetto, became his trump card, Runaway also features a surreal, unearthly electronic
keyboard solo that gave this single a unique flavour. But there’s way more here to appreciate: the opening track
“Misery,” a catchy Doc Pomus/Mort Shuman number that shows off Shannon in the same pained, romantic mode
as “Runaway,” “Jody”, “Day Dreams” and “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” (made world famous just a few

sudden and unexpected blaring organ, screaming vox middle sections which give this darkly tinged little ditty an
extra injection of energy. But flip it over and you can hear Lonnie Sattin’s more restrained approach - slinky, congaladen and quietly building up from a slow smoulder to a blazing finale.

A bona fide classic and true essential in the sleazy instro field - a rolling, bumping and grinding ride back to the
downtown R&B clubs of the late 50s, early 60s, from James Brown’s one-time bandleader James C. Davis. ‘The
Splib’ was presumably yet another new dance which no doubt summarily failed to sweep the nation. Tantalisingly,
the vocals provide only the vaguest physical direction with a couple of references to shaking and shimmying and
little else - leaving us to only try and guess at what the actual moves were. Perhaps that’s just as well: by the down
and dirty sound of the song itself, it’s possible ‘The Splib’ dance came with an X-rating!

of two songs that already came out on a 45, the material on this disk was destined to remain in the trash..
JOHNNY KIDD & THE PIRATES - Shakin’ all over LP Rumble 14,50
It may be surprising that the Beatles were not the first British rock act to top the charts with one of their own
compositions: that honor goes to Johnny Kidd & The Pirates, whose No. 1 “Shakin All Over” is also the first Britishpenned rock and roll hit to ever reach US top 20. Johnny, who wore an eye patch and calf length cowboy boots
on stage to enhance his pirate image, was offered a contract by HMV in 1959 to record their first single, “Please
Don’t Touch”, a song that 22 years later revisited the UK charts by heavy metal heroes Motorhead & Girlschool.
Unfortunately, like many other labels of that era, EMI was never sure how best to deal with rock & roll success and
though the group was among the finest rock combos of the early ‘60s, with a wild stage act that had them playing in
pirate regalia, it never had enough consistent chart success to put it back in the top ranks of Britain’s rock hierarchy,
though they received a great deal of respect from the younger generation of rock & rollers. This LP collects all their
early singles between 1959-1961, including all of Johnny Kidd’s unforgettable hits.

MIGHTY SPARROW - King sparrows calypso carnival LP Rumble 14,50
The undisputed manifesto-album from original Trinidadian Calypso singer Mighty Sparrow, who along with longtime
friend and rival Lord Melody, helped popularize Calypso internationally, right after Belafonte’s 1956 full scale
success. With his ultra-sweet vocals and lyrics that speak of romance and topical politics, Mighty Sparrow (born
Slinger Francisco) is an 11-time winner of the calypso monarchy and an eight-time winner of Trinidad and Tobago’s
Carnival Road March competition. Winning the Carnival competition in 1956 with “Jean and Dinah,” he received
a grand prize of 40 dollars. In protest, he wrote a scorching indictment of the Trinidadian music industry, “Carnival
Boycott.” Despite his refusal to compete in the Carnival contests for the next three years, Sparrow became one of
the Caribbean’s most successful artists, emerging as a relevant and representative voice of his time and society.
NIGHTBIRDS - Same LP Groovie Records 15,50
The Nightbirds were a combo from Swiss that recorded the first single in March1966 to the italian EMI, “ La Strada
Bianca “ writed by Mario Del Don that goes directly to the swiss Hit Parade to the 8th position. In that period the
band begguins an intense activity. They turn to professional status, touring in Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany
and recorded 3 more singles at EMI the played in sveral important Clubs in Swiss and Italy like Blow Up, Pony and
Volkshaus in Zurich. The repertoire goes from Beatles, Yardbirds, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Pretty Things, The Who
,Spencer Davies. They always used on stage the famous “Vox a.c.30” and “Vox a.c.50 “Vox guitars and Ludwig
drums. With the famous kind of Bat logo of the band in the kick drum front. For the first time reissued in LP all the
tracks from the 45rpm recorded by the band in 1960’s, Quelli or Alla Resa Dei Conti are some of the best tunes
made by an italian/swiss band in the 60’s. Freakbeat fuzz garage at is best!!!
NINA SIMONE - Come on back, jack 7 Popcorn 8,20
Two absolutely killer R&B sides from the high priestess of Soul, Nina Simone. ‘Come On Back, Jack’ is Nina’s
answer to Ray Charles smash ‘Hit The Road Jack’, using a similar riff to the original version and packing just as
much dancefloor impact. ‘Work Song’, perhaps the quintessential jazzy mod number was recorded by dozens,
scores, perhaps hundreds of other singers, but few injected it with as much heart and sass as Ms. Simone. The
version here was previously available on LP only.

ORIGINALS / FRANTICS - The whip 7 TT Shakin 8,20
Two superb but somewhat questionable instros here with more than a hint of good, old-fashioned S&M, as belied
by their titles - both rather cheekily named ‘The Whip’! The main man Chuck Rio leads his band The Originals on
the A-side, a quintessentially Rio-esque number complete with Latin percussive elements, a goofy but catchy riff
(let’s face it, yet another interpolation of his ‘Tequila’), and vocal / sound effect break-ins, in this case a stunningly
effective use of a whip crack and a voice exclaiming simply ‘WOW!’ On the other side, the Frantics whip is a
decidedly raunchier affair, with dirty guitars and filthy sax coupled with almost continuous and indeed increasingly
frenzied whip cracking throughout! I can only presume that the Frantics, a much smaller and less known outfit than
Chuck Rio’s boys, were patrons of rather less salubrious watering holes!

RAY ELLIS / THE SHEIKS - The sheik/baghdad rock 7 TT Shakin 8,20
Two middle-eastern themed pieces of wild 50s dance floor exotica here, with Ray Ellis’ ‘The Sheik’ a perennial
favourite among instro-freaks with it’s big production and uptempo insistent rhythm. What’s more, pitch it down
and you also have a classic Belgian popcorn spin! On the flip side, The Sheiks themselves give us their somewhat
skewed interpretation of the East with the playful ‘Baghdad Rock’, a silly but charming jaunt perfect to accompany
the most exotic of dance shows, and a novelty record for the true connoisseur!
SAXIE RUSSELL - Psychedelic soul pt.1+3 7 Outta Sight 8,50
Saxie Russell’s Chicago dance track, the eerie “Psychedelic Soul”, has haunted the Northern Soul scene since it
was first played at the legendary Catacombs Club in Wolverhampton in the early seventies, not long after it was
recorded. Saxie’s real name is Vernon Taplin, a co-writer of the track along with John ‘Stormy’ Colley. Our ‘exclusive’
flip side features, for the first time, an unusual out-take that surfaced a few years ago on a studio acetate from
Colley’s personal collection. Sonically, not the best recording, but historically fascinating and a unique opportunity
to hear Saxie and the session players letting their hair down!
SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON - Polly put your kettle on 7 Jukebox Jam 8,20
Born 1914, Sonny Boy Williamson I was one of the pioneering first wave of bluesmen to achieve a level of success
and national notoriety as a recorded artist. In his all too brief life and career, Williamson popularized harmonica
blues and after landing in Chicago in 1934 became one of the key movers and influences on the cities now infamous
blues scene. Both sides here were cut in 1947 and showcase an evolving sound which was to be tragically cut short
when Williamson died a year later at the desperately young age of 34. Williamson’s influence and popularity always
remained as blues and R&B performers through the 50s and 60s continued to reference and cover his work. ‘Polly
Put Your Kettle On’ was in turn rediscovered and became something of a club favourite on the roots music scenes
of the 80s and has long since continued to light up the floor as the quintessential early ‘Blues Bopper’. The fact that
it was issued in ‘48 on 78rpm only has meant that this classic has never had a proper DJ friendly 45rpm issue - and
the same goes for the hep shuffler ‘Mellow Chick Swing’ ... Until now!

WANDA JACKSON - Rockin’ with wanda! LP Rumble 14,50
140 gram vinyl. Equals parts straight rockabilly, hilarious late 50’s camp, honky tonk, and country music, 1960’s
Wanda Jackson’s “Rockin’ With Wanda”, originally released on Capitol, helped her establish the title of “the Queen
Of Rockabilly”. Wanda’s massive influence on defining the exact nature of early rock and roll music went far beyond
her genre and her “heyday” of The ‘50s & ‘60s. For pure energy and rebelliousness, it compares favorably with the
best of Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. On stage, Wanda wore tight silk dresses, red lipstick, and high heels. She
wanted to add glamour and sex appeal to her image, and, man, did she ever. The female equivalent of Presley’s
leather suits and pelvic thrusting, she was the first woman to bring sex appeal to the rock and roll stage. In fact, she
was so sexy, she wasn’t allowed on stage at the Grand Ol’ Opry until she covered her shoulders. If ever Elvis had
a female counterpart, it’d be Wanda (she briefly dated Presley in 1955, so there you go). “Fujiyama Mama”, “Mean,
Mean Man”, “Don’a Wan’a” are just a few of the classic tunes contained in this remastered, virgin vinyl reissue of
Wanda’s absolute masterpiece.
WANDA JACKSON - There’s a party goin’ on LP Rumble 14,50
140 gram vinyl. The first female singer of the early rock and roll era, Wanda was encouraged to try rock and roll
by Elvis Presley himself. It was 1955 when Wanda met him during the “Ozark Jubilee,” a country tour through the
south. She didn’t think she had the voice for it, but he disagreed. He even recommended some songs for her. At
first she was reluctant, but she signed a recording contract with Capitol and decided to give it a try. During the
next few years, Wanda produced numerous examples of raw, prototypical rock & roll. The most distinctive aspect
was her voice. She developed a wild, growling sound that at times sounds possessed or strangely alien, capable
of going from sweet innocence to hellcat at the push of a button. Originally released in 1959 during the ‘Queen of
Rockabilly’s’ prime at Capitol Records, “There’s A Party Goin’ On” features a solid collection of songs in tune with
the title track as well as covers of a handful of early rock hits such as “Tweedlee Dee” and “Kansas City.” The set
is highlighted by the staggering guitar playing of Roy Clark as exemplified on the the standout cut “Hard Headed
Woman.”
