Keeping
the Cold In
The LiftMaster® EnergyShield cold storage system
is an innovative commercial door operator and
control system that helps manage and control any
cold storage facility as well as supports the Food
Safety Modernization Act guidelines. It increases
dock efficiency, constantly controls temperature,
and saves wear and tear on AC cooling equipment.
See how EnergyShield was used
to help Saladino’s Foodservice.

manual door operation, which, in many
instances, causes a “closed” door to drift
up, thus producing an air gap several
inches tall at the bottom of the “closed”
doors. This air gap results in infiltration of
outside air and therefore increased
cooling load on a facility’s
refrigeration/HVAC system.
An initial test was conducted at
Saladino’s to evaluate the operation and
performance of dock doors within their
temperature-controlled warehouse space.
By installing automated door operators
with an internet-connected door
management system to automatically
close dock doors, Saladino’s made
strides towards ensuring a safe work
environment that also optimized
energy efficiency.
