Estate Pinot Gris This is true mountain Pinot Gris, steely and bright with tons of minerality. With crystalline fruit, crunchy texture and a refreshing finish, this is a highly unique and striking wine. Limited in production and supremely enjoyable, this is a wine to drink in its youth. Only 42 cases produced : Regular Price $24.00 : Club Price $20.40 2006 Santa Cruz Mtns. Estate Chardonnay The 2006 Estate Chardonnay is another shining example of mountain Chardonnay. Lemon oil and crushed rock are immediately identifiable flavors, with time, brioche and toast flavors will emerge. The acidity is fine and pronounced, though there is ample “flesh” to the wine. It is strikingly balanced and should age well over the next 2-6 years at minimum. It possesses flowers, tropical fruits, spices, lychee nuts and a whole slew of other wild scents. Our 2008 ‘Gewurz’ has fragrant scents of rose petals, mandarin and ginger. The 2008 vintage show a touch more restraint than previous vintages, displaying elegance and grace without sacrificing any of the electricity and exuberance. Drink early and often! There is nothing shy about the powerful aromatics of orange blossom, white flowers, peach and honey. The mouth is rich, lush and full. Weighing in at 9.5% RS, it is perfectly balanced by bright acidity and loads of tropical fruit. It drinks well in its youth and should continue to evolve over the next few years. Only 473 cases produced :Regular Price $35.00: Club Price $29.75 Gold medal winner : 2008 SF Wine Competition $ 8.00 TWF’s “FOCUS” Tasting: Featuring Pinot Noir 2007 Windy Hill Vineyard Santa Cruz Mtns. Estate Pinot Noir Windy Hill produces some of our most aromatic Pinot, packed with spice and floral notes over red fruits. The soaring nose is confirmed by the expressive palate- juicy red fruits, spice and a background of forest floor. This wine is drinking quite well in its youth, but should evolve quite nicely over the next 3-5 years at minimum. Only 100 cases produced : Regular Price $48.00 : Club Price $40.80 92 Points : Cellar Selection, Wine Enthusiast Magazine 2006 ‘Corda Family Vineyards’ Marin County Pinot Noir Our first foray into North Coast Pinot Noir in many years (Since our last Winery Lake Pinot Noir in 1990), our 2006 Corda Family, stands as a classic example of “Petaluma Gap” Pinot. Über- fragrant, with wild cherry, pomegranate and brown spice notes the nose continues to develop especially with a vigorous decant (highly recommended if consuming in its youth). Like all of our 2006 Pinots the texture is all silk and velvet with just enough grip to keep things interesting. This wine seems like a good candidate for mid-term cellaring, though it is drinking pretty swell in its youth. Only 161 cases produced : Regular Price $ 40.00 : Club Price $34.00 2007 Santa Cruz Mtns. Estate Pinot Noir The 2007 Estate Pinot Noir is one suave Pinot Noir. Red fruits, cola and spice dominate the nose. The mouth is lush with mineral-tinged tannins that are rounded and mouth-coating. With all the supple weight this wine drinks very well in its youth. Slight hints of vanilla and spice from aging in tightgrained French Oak accent the fruit and vineyard spice. The silky texture and depth on the palate allow for this wine to be drunk now or cellared for the mid-term, 4-8 years. Our Winemaker, Michael Martella harvested the fruit from a one-acre block in his brother Richard’s Oleta Vineyard in Amador County, where the warm growing season extends well into October. This long hang time ensures fully ripe, rich Grenache berries alive with the sweet flavors of raspberry, blackberry and black currant. These grapes express Grenache varietal character at its finest, with little need to blend in anything else. Barrel aging, in French adds complexity and structure to this California-grown old world favorite. It’s an excellent food wine that complements a wide variety of red and white meats, and most Mexican, Chinese and Italian foods except fish dishes. Only 185 cases produced : Regular Price $26.00: Club Price $22.10 2004 Razorback Vineyard Santa Cruz Mtns. Merlot We pushed the limits of ripeness with this wine and it has paid off with aromas and flavors of anise, cocoa, raspberries and dark berries. This wine is not for the timid, but it possesses fabulous texture and is packed with ripe fruit. Its forward nature allows it to be drunk with pleasure now, but it should continue to improve over the next decade. Only 151 cases produced : Regular Price $45.00: Club Price $38.25 2005 Fat Buck Ridge Santa Cruz Mtns. Estate Syrah Notes of bacon, caramel and toasted black fruits are evident on the nose. The mouth features a mix of red and black fruit flavors as well as spice and violet notes. The oak is in moderation and the earth and terroir notes are present and defined. Full bodied but balanced and still a baby this should be even more harmonious in 3 years. A splash decant is highly recommended for consumption today. Estate Cabernet Franc Profoundly aromatic with notes of violets, black pepper, red fruits and fresh herbs, this is a seriously intense Franc that retains its sense of balance. This wine’s concentration and fruit density are offset by integrated tannins and great acidity. The red fruits are mirrored in the mouth where a hint of toast and spice add further complexity. Drink or hold for 5-7 years. Only 95 cases produced : Regular Price $48.00 : Club Price $40.80 Silver Medal Winner: Appellation American 2006 Santa Cruz Mtns. Estate Nebbiolo Our Estate Nebbiolo was sourced from a tiny (.25 acre) block on the winery property. Perched just above the Rapley Trail Pinot Noir, this vineyard produced its first crop in 2006, many years after being originally planted. The bright aromatics of bing cherry, plum, mint and the tell-tale ‘neb’ notes of rose and tar jump from the glass on first nose. As with most of our Estate wines from 2006, the fruit, rather than structure, is the star. This is very luscious for a Nebbiolo, there is the signature tannic grip, but it is well balanced by juicy red fruit. Flavors of earth, anise and dried herbs open up on the palate, with time in the glass. This vintage is one to drink early or cellar for the near term. Only 23 cases produced : Regular Price $26.00: Club Price $22.10 2004 Camel Hill Vineyard Santa Cruz Mtns. Cabernet Sauvignon The Camel Hill Vineyard really shines in long years with extended periods of warm weather. As a result, 2004 produced a ‘vintage of the century’ crop with fantastic flavors and superior balance. Flavors of currant, cassis, sweet herbs and cherries are dominant. Some cocoa and mocha notes add richness on the structured, yet supple, mouth. While there is some evident tannin, this wine has really started to sing. Decant to consume now, but make sure to pack away a few bottles to watch (and taste) as it evolves; this wine should be going strong for another 4-6 years. Only 194 cases produced : Regular Price $55.00: Club Price $46.75 90 Points Wine Enthusiast Magazine 5 Stars: Ronn Weigand’s Restaurant Wine 2004 Raines Vineyard Santa Cruz Mtns. Cabernet Sauvignon Sporting cherry, blackberry and sweet herbs on the nose and a patina of toasted oak to keep things interesting, the ’04 Raines Cab speaks to its arid hillside origins. The mouth is loaded with black fruits, sweet cherry and great tannin structure. It is full bodied and packed with dark blackberry fruit. An intriguing gravel/loamy character sets off the long and complex finish. Drink now or hold for 3-7 years. Only 153 cases produced : Regular Price $55.00: Club Price $46.75 4+ Stars: Ronn Weigand Restaurant News “The wines are designed for Bordeaux lovers and for those who’ll serve them with food.
