Cover STORY BY Kelly L. Watson Everything you could Ever ask for A Nexagen home business gave Christina Perry and her family the time, income, and lifestyle they always wanted. C marketing company that distributes weight-loss patches and other health products. Christina says she will never forget when she joined Nexagen. “It was right after we got married, and I still had a credit card that was in my name.” After a short time with the company, she had lost 18 pounds on the patch and was making $50,000 selling it part time. When she heard of Nexagen, Christina was still making a living in sales and marketing and was considering a vice-president position with a technology firm. At times, she felt like she couldn’t breathe—many of her 12- to 14-hour workdays started at 4 a.m. when she got up to attend streaming video conferences with clients across the world. Meanwhile, Todd was informed he needed a kidney transplant due to an autoimmune disorder, and Christina faced the possibility of losing yet another person she loved. To make matters tougher, Todd’s kidney dialysis was making it difficult to conceive—something the couple desperately Photo Credit: Tim Talley, Tim Talley Photography Inc. hristina Perry has been hit with more than her fair share of life’s problems, but for her, it’s never been a reason to give up. It all began with the death of her mother when Christina was just five years old. After a string of bad decisions, a broken marriage, and the birth of a daughter, Christina wanted to understand the issues clouding her life choices. As a single mother, Christina made a living in sales and marketing. She continued to grow in her personal life and in her faith. She also continued to seek out a person with similar qualities and beliefs to become her life partner. In 2003, Christina married the man of her dreams. With her husband, Todd, Christina is now a mother of three. Together, they have faced the challenges of blending two families, serious illness for Todd, and a high-risk pregnancy. But looking back on her life, Christina feels nothing short of gratitude. The secret to her positive outlook? Helping others while helping yourself. It’s a philosophy she learned from Nexagen, a network Everything you could Ever ask for wanted. Despite the couple’s many setbacks, Christina found out she was pregnant in February, 2004. pictures can strike up conversations with “Fat Patch” buttons, car signs, or just by wearing the patch in a visible location. “This is one of the simplest businesses out there,” Christina says. “I’ve never had to push this on anyone. CHEERS: Christina and Todd Perry enjoy the freedom and success their Nexagen home business provides. If you’re passionate and happy about what you’re doing, people are going to see that.” Christina’s happiness recently caught the attention of the creators of an inspirational book series called Thank God I…, due in stores January, 2008. She has become one of book’s 20 contributing authors and also plans to contribute to the books Thank God I’m a Network Marketer and Thank God I Have a Home-Based Business. Despite her optimism, Christina still faces challenges: Todd was just laid off from a job he’s held for the past 13 years. She admits that the news hit them hard at first. But during one of her NexEurope conference calls, Todd got on the line and shared his story. He spoke of his initial hesitations about network marketing, the loss of his job, and how Nexagen ultimately changed both of their lives. “I never once stopped talking to people about Nexagen and the benefits of having a home-based business during the trials and tribulations of the past four years,” Christina says. “If it weren’t for Nexagen, we would be destitute right now with the loss of Todd’s job.” “Together, Todd and I are building this business, taking it global, and developing a multiple six-figure income,” she adds. “We have never been more excited about our future with Nexagen and NexEurope. The company is always looking for ways to strengthen the opportunity, and we feel as though we are just scratching the surface regarding this home business. The one thing is for sure: we’ve definitely found a home here with Nexagen.” n For more information about starting a homebased business with Nexagen, call 888.208.7535 or visit www.PatchToFreedom.com today. In addition to her husband’s illness, their son, Christopher, suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild form of autism. Christina had to balance two careers while caring for her husband and family, all while dealing with the fatigue and risk of having a baby at the age of 40. “It was very stressful, as you could imagine,” she says. In September 2004, Christina gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Parker…but also had 40 pounds of post-baby weight to prove it. “I was pretty scared I wasn’t going to be able to lose it,” she says. Two weeks after delivery, Christina got the go-ahead from her doctor to start wearing Nexagen’s Power Patch, and within five months was able to lose all 40 pounds. Within a few months, she realized Nexagen gave her all she could ask for in a career: time, flexibility, and a lifestyle she could share with others. So she decided to leave the corporate world behind, and it has paid off for Christina both financially and personally. Since making the move to her home business full time in 2005, she has quickly risen to become the third-highest in status rankings within the company. She was also a catalyst for the 2007 opening of Nexagen’s European branch, now called NexEurope. “July 16, 2007, was my four-year anniversary with the company,” Christina says, “and I become more passionate about it every day because of the people we are able to help in both health and wealth.” Her before-and-after pictures are striking—so striking that Christina has put them on shirts and started wearing them around town. Five years ago, she never would have done such a thing. But today she knows the more fun she has with the business, the more money she makes.
