Although perfection is obviously an unachievable ideal, our motto keeps us continuously striving to raise the bar on our products to serve our customers better. Large scale, grain farming is a highly technical business that requires farm managers to be continuously adapting to changes in market conditions and technology. During the past 5 years, the dramatic expansion of ethanol and bio-diesel has significantly impacted grain prices. However, going forward, the rate of bio-fuel expansion is expected to slow. New technology has provided farm enterprises with the opportunities to farm more efficiently and more profitably. Larger equipment has allowed the farming of more acres with fewer people or, alternatively, increasing total farmed acreage with the same number of people. Higher costs of growing a crop have increased financial risks and are requiring farm managers to develop more effective strategies for coping with the increased risks. The selection of farm equipment is one of the key aspects of managing an efficient farm enterprise. Bourgault remains committed to developing and manufacturing the world’s most innovative and durable farm equipment. This has been our legacy for more than 35 years. This year, we are introducing the new 3710 Air Coulter Drill, which raises the bar on coulter drill technology. The design of the 3710 provides a choice of a low disturbance or an anti hair-pinning seed placement system, which are interchangeable for accommodating different farming situations. The 3710 also features a patented walking axle system on parallel link geometry to provide unmatched opener stability and seed placement accuracy. Also being introduced this year is the Model 5810 Air Hoe Drill with the hydraulically controlled, Series III, parallel link Mid Row Bander® system. All of Bourgault’s equipment designs include proprietary technology to provide farmers with unique features not found on any other equipment. These features have been developed to add value to the farmer’s bottom line. For example, the proprietary interconnecting tank system found on 6000 Air Seeder carts allows for tank compartments to be combined for different seeding scenarios. This feature allows the cart’s tank capacity to be more efficiently used than the cart capacity on competitive units. This means fewer fills for seeding the same amount of acres. The ParalinkTM opener system design found on the 3310 Air Hoe Drill provides for ultra-precise seed placement while also allowing the farmer a choice of seeding openers. The 3310 also provides the best residue clearance and field finish of any independent hoe drill while also providing the utmost in seed safety with Bourgault’s patented hydraulic Mid Row Bander® system. The 7200 Heavy Harrow has the ability to hydraulically control tine angle, tine pressure and harrow section front-to-back orientation from the tractor seat allowing it to outperform all heavy harrow drawbars when conditions are less than ideal. In reviewing this catalogue you will indeed find unique, value-adding features on all of Bourgault’s equipment. Bourgault’s motto is Pursuing Perfection. Although perfection obviously is an unachievable ideal, our motto keeps us continuously striving to raise the bar on our products to serve our customers better. 4 MAXIMIZE YOUR EARNING POTENTIAL. Regardless of your selection, you are guaranteed that each system lives up to Bourgault’s signature standard of design and construction. 5 Bourgault team members (many of whom are also farmers) are continually researching and developing effective products and features to help you improve your bottom line. Whether it’s increasing your seeding efficiency, eliminating your risk of fertilizer burn, or improving convenience and safety, we have a solution that meets your needs. Seeding is arguably the most important part of your farming business. This is why Bourgault has made it the mort important part of ours. Air Seeding took off with the help of the Bourgault cultivator, and today it is still a viable option for many producers. If you need an implement that can do many different jobs, but still do a great seeding job, the Bourgault Cultivator is the system for you. New for this season is the 891070 Cultivator. 8810/8910 Cultivator It’s not hard to see why the 6000 Series Air Seeder is the favorite product cart in the industry. With outstanding features such as inter-tank flexibility, hydraulic calibration, and superior load/unload systems, you can spend less time configuring and loading your tank, and more time seeding. 6000 Series Air Seeders The evolution of banding fertilizer mid row continues with the release of the MRB® III. Like its counterpart, the Series 25 MRB® II, the MRB® III places the nitrogen fertilizer in the optimal location, and guarantees adequate seed to fertilizer separation at any rate. New for this season is the Mid Row Shank II. The MRS II is an alternative to the coulter banders for seeding systems on a 12 inch spacing. MRB® llls & MRB® lls 6 SELECTING YOUR SEEDING SYSTEM Seeding is arguably the most important activity in grain production. There is no other operation that you will have control over that has greater impact on your crop yield and quality. When evaluating seeding systems for your operation, it is important to consider the characteristics provided by the seeding system, and which ones are most important for you. PAC K I N G RESIDUE CLEARANCE SEED PLACEMENT CONSISTENCY A high packing force approach is more effective in regions that experience less moisture or soils that will easily dry out. This approach will push the seed down into undisturbed soil. In regions that tend to have more moisture, a moderate packing force approach will firm the soil above the seed, but not create a cap or crust that may inhibit emergence. Do you typically have a lot of straw to deal with prior to seeding? What is your typical practice for residue control? Matching the seeding implement to your straw management practice will go a long way to ensuring seeding success. Are you looking to maintain a consistent and shallow seeding depth? Or do you need to achieve a deeper seeding range for your crops? FIELD FINISH Systems that create a coarse field finish will blacken the soil and encourage evaporation, but leave a rough ride during spraying or harvesting. Low disturbance systems will help retain existing soil moisture and leave a smooth field finish. A D A P TA B I L I T Y ( R A N G E O F C O N F I G U R AT I O N S ) Does your seeding system need to work in a wide variety of crop options? Or are looking for a dedicated seeding implement that can replicate desired results consistently? CONTOURING CHARACTERISTICS If your land is very hilly, with runs and draws, you will need to consider a unit with good contouring capabilities. Flat, even land with few hills or runs will not demand a high-contouring system. DURABILITY & MAINTENANCE All Bourgault seeding systems are designed to provide durability. It is also a fact that some systems become more complex in order to achieve specific goals in seeding. A greater number of moving parts and linkages will typically result in greater wear and maintenance. P E N E T R AT I O N Is your land prone to drying out and becoming hard? Have you been restricted in your options due to poor penetration? If these are issues in your seeding operation, you must ensure that your next system can provide adequate penetration and consistent seed depth control in demanding conditions. EASE OF USE Seeding systems with many new features may also require a greater degree of operator knowledge; attention and settings. When evaluating your choice of seeding systems, check for the features that will provide the best return for your investment. EFFICIENCY (SPEED/WIDTH) You need a seeding system that will get the job done right in the time you have. This means you need to look not only at the size, but at what speed you can achieve good seedbed integrity. NUTRIENT PLACEMENT It is critical to consider the level of risk you are willing to take with your inputs at seeding time. Farming today does not leave you much room for error, so you need to make sure your seeding system will be working to maximize your earning potential while minimizing your risks. 7 Each of these characteristics are important, but some may be more critical to you than to the next farmer. This is why Bourgault Industries Ltd. offers an extensive selection of seeding systems, each with their own unique characteristics and attributes, yet all designed and built with the same commitment to ingenuity, durability, and simplicity. You know your fields, you know your crops, and you know what it takes to make a successful harvest. By getting to know the Bourgault seeding systems, you will find the one that will work best for you. The scoring reflects each Bourgault seeding system compared to each other in the characteristic listed. All Bourgault seeding systems are designed and built to the same standards of quality and durability. Bourgault has applied many years of experience to the development of this practical, durable, and effective seeding system to achieve the most consistent seed placement in the widest range of seeding conditions. 9 10 SUPERIOR RESIDUE CLEARANCE Many farmers feel that they are forced to adopt a wider row spacing to avoid uneven emergence caused by residue bunching. ParalinkTM hoe drill owners comment about the outstanding residue clearance they experience at seeding. Features such as a seed-only opener on each shank, optimal seed opener to packer distance, edge-on shank design, and residue cutting MRB® coulters provide excellent trash flow in challenging conditions without having the compromise of a wider row spacing. CONVENIENT HYDRAULIC CONTROL CONSISTENT SEED DEPTH You have full electric-over-hydraulic control of packing force from the tractor seat, from as low as 70 lb to an excess of 200 lb. One click of the pressure control toggle will adjust the hydraulic pressure by about 50 p.s.i. system pressure. This translates to about 7 lb of packing force and 20 lb of trip force. The Paralink™ arm is designed to achieve a balance between independent contouring ability and stable opener operation. The 2-to-1 contour ratio of the ParalinkTM arm will provide good land-following characteristics, yet not be over-sensitive to last season’s seed runs or soil lumps. Get your seeding job done right seeding with, or across last year’s furrows, while maintaining a very productive operating speed and obtaining excellent seed placement. The hydraulic arrangement has been designed with integrated line locks and may be configured to operate the banding coulters and seeding shanks either together, or independently. E Q U I P M E N T - F R I E N D LY F I E L D F I N I S H Don’t beat your equipment (or your back) up! The Bourgault 3310 PHD™ provides the best field finish in the independent depth hoe drill market. A smoother field finish means less bouncing in the sprayer or the combine and allows you to get every bushel off short or lodged crops more easily. T H E A B I L I T Y T O P E N E T R AT E The 3310 PHD™ can penetrate soil conditions that the competitors only ride over! The same 2-to-1 contour ratio that stabilizes the PHD™ opener performance also allows up to two times the packing force to be available for penetration. That is over 400 lb of opener force! The durable frame construction and inner-wing down pressure feature ensures forces are transferred from the mainframe to the inner wing. Weight is added to the outer wings to ensure uniform penetration through the entire width of the drill. 3310 PARALINKTM HOE DRILL 11 EFFECTIVE SEEDING SPEEDS It is critical to not sacrifice your seedbed integrity by going too fast. It is also important for you to make the best use of a typically short seeding window. The 3310 PHD™ helps you get the best of both worlds by incorporating specific design parameters that allow you to maintain seedbed integrity at superior seeding speeds for the given conditions. Expect a greater degree of productivity with the 3310 than any other independent hoe drill. 12 CHOICE OF SEED KNIVES The Paralink™ design guarantees consistent seed knife angle relative to the ground, regardless of its position. This allows you to select the seed knife or tip that works best for your farming operation. Use care in the selection of the right seed knife, boot or tip so as to achieve the desired results. A single-shoot seedonly knife is recommended for use with the 3310. Bourgault Mid Row Banders® are recommended if you are configuring a double-shoot, one-pass seeding system. The selection and subsequent performance of seed knives, boots or tips are solely the responsibility of the opener manufacturer and the operator. P A R A L I N K ™ S E E D O P E N E R A S S E M B LY The 3310 Paralink™ Hoe Drill is designed around this innovative opener assembly. The incorporation of parallel link depth control on the seed shank allows for a wide range of seed knife options to the producer. Easy-Adjust Depth Control – Adjusting the depth on an independent depth system is time consuming, so Bourgault incorporates an indexed pin depth adjustment unit that is simple and repeatable across the depth of the unit. Carbo-Nitrided Shafting – This processed shafting is hard-surfaced for protection, rather than hard-plated which is prone to damage from nicks and wear. Lube-Free Bushings – Spend more time in the field and less time greasing. Bourgault incorporates fiber and hardened steel bushings to ensure long service life without the hassle of greasing. Paralink™ Control - The Paralink™ design maintains the opener angle to the soil flow as the opener follows the ground profile. Packer Wheel Choice – Choose from a variety of tire options to match your seeding requirements. Efficient Seeding – Optimal opener-to-packer distance allows soil to flow into the seed row. You can achieve a consistent seed depth at productive seeding speeds for the given conditions. EFFICIENT & EFFECTIVE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM The hydraulic configuration on the 3310 PHD™ efficiently utilizes the tractor’s closed-centre hydraulic system. Hydraulic flow is minimal during the seeding operation. The biggest draw is in the headland turns with the raise and lower action controlled at the Model 400 control box. B O U R G A U LT M I D R O W B A N D E R S ® One of the defining features of the 3310 Paralink™ Hoe Drill is the optional hydraulic Mid Row Banders®. MRBs® allow you to place nitrogen fertilizer and sulphur between every other seed row without danger of seed contact. The growing use of Variable Rate Technology means that fertilizer rates will vary throughout your field. High rates of fertilizer placed near your seed will run the risk of seed damage or mortality. Maximize your returns and minimize your risks when one-pass seeding with MRBs (for more information on MRBs see page 32). Farmers who choose 12" spaced 3310s now have the option of the Mid Row Shank II (see page 37 for more information on the MRS II). This banding option provides optimal nutrient placement with less moving parts. 3310 PARALINKTM HOE DRILL 13 PAC K E R W H E E L S E L E C T I O N You can choose a packer wheel that best suits your choice of knife. The 4.8" pneumatic packer (with tube) can be adjusted from 12 to 50 psi to match changing soil conditions. Get your seeding done right, and on time with a drill you can configure for your operation. 16 P A R A L L E L W A L K I N G C O U LT E R A R M 1 2 When going over residue or obstacles, the walking action between the cleaner and packer wheels stabilizes the coulter arm assembly reducing coulter movement by a factor of two. Delivering superior precision seed placement as compared to competitive units with the cleaner wheel fixed to the side of the coulter. 3 CONTOUR- ABILIT Y AND CONSISTENCY Packer Depth Adjustment You need consistent seeding depth for even germination, but don’t want to sacrifice overall efficiency. Seed drills that claim extreme contour-ability can also be very sensitive to residue, previous furrows, or lumpy soil forcing operators to reduce seeding speeds or risk the danger of opener instability. Bourgault offers the best of contour-ability and consistency with the pantent pending Parallel Walking Coulter Arm. When contouring through draws and over hills the parallel arms maintain seed depth and seed boot angle. The depth is guaged by a walking axle between the cleaner and packer wheel. The walking axle design reduces weight on the closer wheel and provides excellent packing characteristics. More importantly, it walks over residue and obstacles keeping the coulter seeding at a desired depth. This innovative design allows the 3710 to contour, yet provide consistent seed placement like no other drill on the market. Bourgault offers a 4.5" semi-pneumatic smooth crown, a 5.4" semi-pneumatic smooth crown, a 4.5" semi-pneumatic double-shoulder, as well as a 4.8" pneumatic packer wheel (not shown). You can also choose between the 3" and 4.5" cleaner wheel to match your typical soil conditions. CONFIGURE FOR YOUR REQUIREMENT S The 2-row Bourgault 3710 Independent Coulter DrĐ spacing, the 7½" and 10" spaced models can lock up one row to produce 15" and 20" spacing respectively. Select the seed boot/scraper option that will best fit your farming conditions. Low Disturbance Seed Boot/Scraper Anti-Hairpin Seed Boot/Scraper If you work in typically drier soil conditions, the narrow profile Low Disturbance Scraper will provide seed placement in a narrow cut seedbed. The result will be an exceptional field finish that will preserve the maximum soil moisture to foster germination. The Anti-Hairpin Scraper is ideal if you frequently deal with heavy field residue during seeding. The AHP scraper is designed to operate in challenging corn, soybean, sunflower, and cereal residue. The seed is placed to the side of the disc furrow free from any material that may be hairpinned into it. Dual product delivery enables you to place an additional band of product, such as starter fertilizer, sulfur or lower rates of nitrogen beside the seed row and below. The Bourgault spring trip cushion design utilizes increasing force geometry, allowing the Bourgault air hoe drill to be effective where competitor’s systems just ride on top of the ground. The Bourgault 450 HD spring trip cushion incorporates a 1" pivot protected with a greaseless nylon bushing and a 1¼" tapered shank which is 55% stronger than a 1" shank. Not only are they durable, you will appreciate the low parts cost when maintenance is required. 330 lb Trip 2¼" Diameter Spring, 7/16" Diameter Wire 7/8 " Diameter Pivot 1" Shank 450 lb HD Trip 27/16" Diameter Spring, 15/32" Diameter Wire S U P E R I O R F L O ATAT I O N The 5810 AHD tires are customer approved! The new, larger caster wheels minimize the lb per square inch pressure resulting in reduced compaction, improved transport handling ability, as well as exceptional floatation in wet conditions. For example, the 5810-72 foot comes standard equipped with 16.5L x 16.1 mainframe tires and 13.5L x 15 tires on the inner and outer wings. 1" Diameter Pivot 1¼" Thick 1" Thick 23 ROBUST DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION The 5810 frame features 4" x 4" ranks sandwiched between continuous members running top and bottom the full depth of the frame. This construction provides a deep profile for high strength and many years of trouble-free operation. This design also transfers weight very efficiently to ensure consistent soil penetration throughout the width of the drill, even in hard soil conditions. The 5810 AHD utilizes a 4" diameter rockshaft so you can expect many years of consistent seed placement, even in harsh seeding conditions. 24 QUICK AND EASY LEVELING E X PA N D YO U R S E E D I N G W I N D OW Precise leveling is critical to achieving a consistent seedbed. The 5810’s newly designed, easy to access leveling adjustments let you accurately level your entire 5810 using one standardized procedure...which allows you to get into the field faster. Increase your seeding window by investing in a second set of packers for your 5810 AHD. Having packer options gives you the flexibility to seed in a wider range of conditions; pneumatic packers allow you to seed during wetter conditions (especially important with fine seeds such as canola and flax), while narrow steel packers are a good choice for dryer conditions. Leading producers find that a second set of packer gangs gets them into the field sooner, increasing their seeding window resulting in an overall increased growing season. Adjustment wrenches are provided. Detailed instructions are located near the point of adjustment. No other seeding system can be set up for tillage, then reconfigured into an effective direct seeding system. The clean and simple floating hitch design, durable construction, and superior residue flow characteristics have made this tool bar a mainstay throughout the small grain regions of North America especially in areas that are prone to wet seeding conditions. . 27 8810 CULTIVATOR 28 FRAMES DESIGNED FOR O U T S TA N D I N G E N D U R A N C E The 8810 frame features five ranks of 4 x 4 x .250 wall tubing. These are connected with continuous members above and below the ranks, creating a deep profile for high strength and many years of trouble-free operation. Forces are transferred effectively throughout the frame to ensure uniform soil penetration and consistent seed placement, even in tough soils. EASY TO LEVEL You are provided easy access to leveling locations. Wrenches are provided for side-to-side adjustment at the top of the depth control cylinders, and front-to-back adjustment at the screw jack between the in-frame running gear and caster wheel. SUPERIOR RUNNING GEAR DESIGN RESILIENT TRIP A S S E M B LY P I V O T The outstanding design of the Bourgault Spring Trip assembly features a grade eight pivot bolt and an extremely durable nylon bushing. The simple and durable design provides years of service with low maintenance, yet can be replaced easily, safely, and very economically using common hand tools. The 8810 Cultivator incorporates walking in-frame running gear that is slightly biased to the back wheel. The front wheel will not have a tendency to “dip down” in wetter conditions, minimizing your chances of getting stuck. Research has proven that the ability to follow field contours is primarily related to frame depth and wheel positioning. The in-frame running gear also minimizes the distance to the front caster wheels, so you can achieve consistent seed depth in hilly conditions. CONFIGURE THE 8810 FOR DIRECT SEEDING Configure your Bourgault 10" spaced 8810 into the 8810 Culti-Drill. Equip your 8810 with your choice of mounted packer wheel options, low-disturbance seed openers, and optional Series 25 Mid Row Banders® for an effective one-pass seeding system. When you make an investment, it has to prove itself on the bottom line. Bourgault Mid Row Banders® have helped thousands of farmers achieve a profitable, one-pass seeding operation by minimizing the risks and maximizing the benefits in their control. Consider what Bourgault Mid Row Banders® can do for you. MRB III in transport position MRB III in field position ALL-NEW MRB III (Available on the 5810 AHD, and 3710 ICD) Series 25 MRB II h (Available on the 3310 PHD) O N E - PA S S S E E D I N G Careful consideration and investigation is important when making a longterm decision such as adopting a one-pass seeding operation. The goal behind the practice is to apply all of the seed and fertilizer requirements in a single operation without the seeding operation itself incurring risk to the potential crop. Key factors to consider are: Seedbed Integrity – Never compromise seedbed quality for a one-pass seeding operation. The quality of the seedbed is paramount to ensuring the best start for the crop. Ideal Fertilizer Placement – Nitrogen fertilizer, in its initial form, is very toxic to living organisms. The nitrogen must go through a process of nitrification in order to be usable by the plants. A one-pass seeding operation must not allow the seed to be endangered by nitrogen fertilizer. Mid Row Bander, Mid Row Banders, and MRB are registered trademarks of Bourgault Industries Ltd. in Canada and U.S.A. 34 THE BENEFITS OF MID ROW BANDERS T H E B E N E F I T S O F B O U R G A U LT M I D R O W B A N D E R S I N C L U D E : Seedbed Integrity – MRBs, coupled with narrow seed openers allow you to create an effective seedbed in a one-pass seeding system, ensuring even seed placement and preserving soil moisture; Mid Row Banders minimize the risk of fertilizer damage to your seed by placing the crop’s nitrogen fertilizer requirements between every other seed row eliminating the risk of fertilizer toxicity and salt effect, and eliminate seedbed quality issues such as soil lumping and excessive soil disturbance resulting in premature seedbed drydown. NITROGEN FORM & TOXICIT Y All nitrogen fertilizer, once placed into the soil goes through the process of nitrification. It is important for producers to understand how this conversion takes place, and it’s effect on the emerging seedling. Guaranteed Separation – MRBs guarantee separation of nitrogen fertilizer from the seed row regardless of nitrogen form, rate or seed row spacing; Mid Row Band (After 4 Weeks) – The nitrogen band has converted to nitrate and has moved out towards the plant roots, which during growth have sensed and tapped into the nutrient source. Optimum Nitrogen Location – Plants do not need to be endangered by closely placed nitrogen during seeding. Mid row application allows plants to access the fertilizer in its most beneficial form - nitrate; Versatility – MRBs work well with all forms of nitrogen fertilizer: Dry Urea, Anhydrous Ammonia, and Liquid UAN; Seeding Efficiency – MRB systems aid seeding efficiency by allowing farmers to seed at higher speeds than competitors in like conditions; Fuel Consumption – Coulter style MRBs, paired with narrow seed knives create much less draft than competitor’s one-pass systems; Ingenuity, Simplicity, Durability – Mid Row Banders are designed, tested and built to the level of quality and user-friendliness that is the hallmark of Bourgault equipment. For more information on the agronomic basis of mid row banding check out: www.bourgault.com Nitrogen initially converts to ammonia, which is very toxic to the seed and plant, and is not very mobile in the soil. Risk of fertilizer toxicity is high if the seed(ling) is close to the fertilizer row. The ammonia then converts to ammonium, which is not as toxic as ammonia, but can cause seedling damage and impair plant development at a high concentration. Ammonium then coverts to nitrate, which is the safest, most effective form of nitrogen for robust plant development. Nitrate is very mobile in the soil, and can reach the seed row from the mid row band in as little as two days. The length of the conversion process varies with specific soil types and amount of moisture in the soil. Ideal moisture and soil conditions will help minimize damage caused by closely placed fertilizer. But in more challenging years when moisture is scarce, the risk of damage from nitrogen fertilizer increases dramatically. CLOSER TINE O R R E TA I N I N G W H E E L O P T I O N The outside closer tine option (A) is designed to help soil flow back into the furrow. You can adjust the tine position to match your operating depth. For ideal results, the closer tine holds some residue against the disc to help keep it clean. If you require more aggressive closing action, or less soil disturbance, the retaining wheel option (B) utilizes a torsion spring to adjust the down-force, as well as shims to set the position relative to the disc. B MID ROW BANDERS 37 MRS II (Available on 3310 PHDTM & 5810 AHD on 12" spacing) Variable Rate Technology and MRBs – An Ideal Partnership MRS II The Mid Row Shank II provides onepass fertilizer application with an edge-on style shank. The MRS II is the ideal option if residue clearance is not a primary concern for your farming operation. It also provides the critical mid row placement of nitrogen with less moving components than the coulter-style banders. If you are involved with the development of prescription maps, you know that there are times when very high rates of fertilizer are required for specific locations, rates that will put seed at high risk if applied too close. Seed and fertilizer placement becomes even more critical in a precision farming operation. 1 Hydraulic Actuation – The hydraulic cylinder actuation provides a constant force through the travel of the arm when going over an obstacle, and a gentle return to the operating position. Like the coulter-style banders, the MRS II shanks can be set to operate independently of the seed arms, or locked out when not in use. It is not uncommon to see prescription maps where nitrogen requirements spike to 140+ lb/acre actual where a grower is shooting for maximum yields with a hybrid canola variety. You need to be confident that your crop will thrive, versus being set back by the rates called for in each zone to realize the best returns from variable rate technology. 2 Simple Depth Adjustment – A twobolt attachment system with multiple mounting holes allows 1/2" height increments. 3 Common Mount – The MRS II shank is designed to accept a front delivery boot with a 3/4" tip. 4 Single Tertiary Lines – Dry fertilizer product is delivered through a 1¼" tertiary hose. The MRS II can also be used with liquid or NH3 fertilizer. Each MRS II assembly weighs approximately 70 lb, and provides 9" of unobstructed clearance when tripped (nominal at 2-1/2" working depth) A Bourgault Precision Seeding System equipped with Mid Row Banders® provides the peace of mind that your crop is in the best position to utilize the rates applied, no matter what challenges your crop may face during the growing season. 6000 SERIES AIR SEEDERS 38 6550ST 700 bu - 4 tanks 10" Conveyor with 15" belt Tow behind configuration only 550 bu - 4 tanks 10" Deluxe Load/Unload Auger Tow behind or Leading configuration available 350 bu - 3 tanks 280 bu - 2 tanks 10" Deluxe or Standard 8" Load/Unload Auger 8" Load/Unload Auger Row crop tire option for 30" spacing Row crop tire option for 30" spacing Load/Unload Auger Tow behind or Leading configuration available Tow behind or Leading configuration available 6280 450 bu - 4 tanks 6350 6450 6700ST The 6000 Series is undoubtedly the best air seeder available today. High-density poly metering augers coupled with precisely matched steel orifices provide accurate metering and low maintenance. The polyethylene auger provides consistent seeding rates, even with problematic products such as treated seed and certain fertilizers. The PDM Plus is gentle, even on peas and lentils. PAMI Research Update #702 found that average seed damage of all tests was 0%. A large flow-through sump allows for easy and complete tank clean out and metering auger inspection. Product sump ensures precise metering, even at low tank levels. Wide metering rolls used on competitors’ models may experience uneven product draw at low tank levels as the product is metered. GENTLE PRODUCT DELIVERY TA N K C L E A N O U T I S A B R E E Z E The Bourgault product delivery system is designed for accurate distribution and low incidence of seed damage. Quick inspection manifolds with convex polyurethane internal surfaces direct the material to the next set of distribution lines. Bourgault runs a battery of tests to determine the consistency, or the coefficient of variation for each air seeder kit. Independent testing has proven that the Bourgault air seeder kit design meets or exceeds industry standards. Customers who have moved away from competitor’s air seeders comment on how tank cleanout is so much easier, quicker, and less messy with a Bourgault. With the Bourgault system, tank cleaning is simple, with an unobstructed drop into the load/unload auger hopper. The producer just has to remove two bolts holding the sump plate, and product can drop neatly into the auger hopper. 42 C A B R AT E A D J U S T — C R A Application rate can be adjusted for each metering auger at the push of a button from the tractor cab.
