Bourgault is continuing to offer new, industry-leading technology to make the large, modern
farmer more efficient and productive than ever before. The new 3320 provides a good example
of Bourgault’s development efforts. The 3320 PHD™ offers the most advanced seed placement
technology in the industry. It is available in three models: 1) 3320QDA, 2) 3320XTC and
3) 3320SE. The 3320, equipped with the QDA (Quick Depth Adjust) feature, allows you to adjust the

seeding depth in a few minutes, rather than taking up close to an hour, which is typically the case
with a large, independent opener air hoe drill.
Because of the unique geometry found on the 3320QDA,
rather than adjusting the setting of each seed opener to
change the seeding depth, changes are made to the frame
height, which in turn adjusts the seeding depth. On the
3320QDA, changing seeding depth takes you only 3 or
4 minutes instead of 50 minutes, which is generally the
case on a 75-foot independent opener drill. If it takes
50 minutes to change seeding depth to be able “to see
whether or not a different depth is better” and only 3 hours
for you to seed the entire field, because of the constant
urgency to complete seeding, often depth changes are not
made if you are unsure whether or not a depth change
would indeed improve seed placement. If the seeding
depth change is made, and you subsequently determine
that it produces less than ideal placement, now the depth
has to be reset back to the original setting, which takes
another 50 minutes. In that time, you could have seeded
more than 80 acres! However, if the seeding depth is too
great, time-to-emergence increases and plant stands are
generally reduced. If the seeding depth is too shallow,
some of the plants may become stranded in dry soil, which
can cause major problems with low plant numbers, timeto-maturity, weeds and ultimately, yield. The bottom line
is that over the long run, compromises to seed placement
will cost you money; in some years, a lot of money. The
technology developed for the 3320QDA allows you to avoid
having to make seeding depth compromises along with
providing the most precise seed placement in the industry.
Additionally, all 3320s feature hydraulically adjustable
packing pressure, which is likely the second most
important factor for obtaining proper emergence. Over
the long run, the technology found on the 3320QDA will
increase yields, crop quality and reduce time-to-maturity
providing you with best available bottom line.
The 3320XTC (eXtra Terrain Contouring) features enhanced
contouring capabilities where terrain changes are sharp
and numerous. If many of your fields include countless
sharp hills and draws, the 3320XTC may be the answer.
Although the 3320XTC does not allow seeding depth
changes to be made by changing the frame height, as
does the 3320QDA, its spring loaded depth adjustment
system makes setting the seeding depth very easy and
convenient.
When it comes to independent disk coulter drill technology,
Bourgault offers the 3710 with its patented walking axle
coulter arm technology. The 3710 provides unprecedented
and unmatched seed placement capabilities. When
compared to a conventional, fixed location gauge wheel
design, the walking axle design averages out localized
surface variations to reduce the number of seeds that
are deposited above and below the optimum seeding
depth. Most simply stated, when you have more seeds
deposited at the optimum depth, your chances of
maximizing yields increase.
Bourgault has also released the 7950 Air Seeder cart
with 950 bushels of total tank capacity. Besides being
large, this unit is equipped with the latest innovations
in air seeder cart technology.
As you review this catalogue, you will discover that

Many farmers with competitors’ seeding systems are
forced to deal with residue bunching and plugging,
and the inevitable uneven crop emergence that
results. There has been some who promote seeding
with side-banding systems such as dual-knife or
double-shoot openers on 12" rows or greater.
Producers must be aware that side-band openers
used on wider row spacings endanger the seedbed
with excessive soil disturbance, reduced seedbed
utilization, and increased risk of fertilizer damage,
especially when used with variable rate control.
As with the original, the Series 3320 PHD offers
outstanding residue clearance in managed field
residue. Features such as a seed-only opener on
each shank, edge-on shank design, and residue
cutting MRB coulters provide excellent trash flow in
challenging conditions without having to compromise
seedbed utilization for a wider row spacing.
The success of operating at optimal row spacings
is proven by the fact that over 90% of the industry
leading 3310 PHD seeding systems were purchased
with 10" seed spacing.

packing force at a
low 70 lb up to over
200 lb of force. One click of the pressure control
toggle will adjust system pressure by 50 psi, which
translates into about 3.5 lb of packing force for the
3320XTC, and about 5 lb of packing force for the
3320QDA and 3320SE.
The hydraulic configuration on the 3320 PHD
efficiently utilizes the tractor’s hydraulic system,
resulting in minimal flow during the seeding
operation.
New for the 3320 PHD is the incorporation of a
1-¼" diameter hydraulic cylinder on both variations
of seed openers. These cylinders are ¼" diameter
smaller than found on the 3310 PHD, and will
reduce hydraulic requirements by up to 40%. This
leads to improved lift times in the headlands.

repeatable. Each position provides 1/6" of
adjustment, for a total range of 2-½".

The 2-to-1 contour ratio of the PHD Seed Opener Assembly
is designed to deliver good contouring characteristics and
consistent results in a wide range of seeding conditions. For
every inch that the packer wheel moves, the seed opener will
move ½" (refer to page 7). This feature dampens opener
movement, providing consistent seeding depth even when

seeding at an angle to last year’s furrows, or through aggressive field residue
such as corn stalks. The forgiveness of the 2-to-1 also provides greater opener
stability at higher seeding speeds and delivers better seed placement if there
is mud build-up on the packer tires as compared to competitive independent
seeding units. With the PHD Seed Opener Assembly, you can push the seeding
envelope and still achieve consistent seed placement results.

The PHD Seed Opener Assembly, in combination with the heavy construction of
the 3320 frame, delivers excellent soil penetration force when required.
As harder areas of a field, such as sprayer or combine tracks are encountered,
the PHD trailing arm design maintains very consistent opener penetration,
and packer wheel force. This greatly minimizes the need for on-the-go packer
adjustment for localized areas of compaction.
Don’t beat your equipment
(or your back) up! The Bourgault
3320 PHD provides the best field
finish in the independent depth
hoe drill market. A smoother
field finish means less bouncing in the sprayer, or the combine, and allows you to

SEEDING DEPTH
Every farmer knows that achieving
the right seeding depth for the given
crop and current conditions is critical
for optimal germination. The hassle
of setting an independent depth
seed drill encourages producers to
find a “close-enough” seeding depth
that is an average of the actual
required seeding depth. Bourgault
recognized this trend as a detriment
to the producer's bottom line, and
endeavored to offer a better solution.
The result is the 3320QDA, the only
independent hoe drill with convenient
and effective seed depth setting.

each front caster wheel and rear carrier wheel. To set the seed depth at the frame, these cylinders are
extended to lift the frame, and shims are slid in or out of position. Once the shims are set, the cylinders are
retracted back into operational position. The 3320QDA provides ten shims, each shim equals 1/8" of seed
depth adjustment for 1-¼" of total quick depth change range. Seeding depth can still be set on the PHD
Seed Opener Assembly to achieve the optimal location for best use of the quick depth range, and
for adjustment of individual openers that operate
in wheel tracks.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Frame height adjustments will affect the operational depth of the MRBIIIs by a factor of two in
comparison to the seed openers, as they are fixed stationary to the frame of the 3320QDA. A ¼"

The patented integral tank design allows all four
main tanks to meter individually, or several tanks can
be combined to meter as one. The 7950 takes this
design one step further. Tank 1 has a tank within
a tank which does not have a meter (1B), but the

Reducing compaction is important to ensure that germination and plant growth is not impeded. When fully
loaded, the 7950 can weigh up to 99,000 lb so compaction is kept down by the use of large 850/80 R38
tires. The tire provides a large footprint, especially when operating at an amazingly low 15 psi inflation
pressure, front and rear. The combination of very large 90" diameter tires, and low ground pressure gives
the 7950 very good floatation and minimizes draft loads, key factors when operating a tank this size.
The 7950 Air Seeder incorporates a new
hydraulic metering system capable of driving
up to 5 metering augers. The hydraulic drive
motors provide near instant rate changes, an
important feature to maximize the benefits of a
variable rate seeding operation.

(perfect for seeding canola) The optional Saddle
Tank (tank 5) mounted on the left side of the 7950
is designed to make seeding bagged product,
such as canola or granular innoculant, as easy as
possible. The low tank height allows bagged product
to be transferred directly from a pick-up truck to
minimizing handling.
The 7950 is available with either a 10" diameter
Conveyer with a 15" belt or a 12" diameter Deluxe
Auger. Both the conveyor and auger are controlled
by a remote contol. As a precautionary measure,
a manual backup is located on the tank. In
addition to controlling the conveyor/auger, the
remote also turns the fans off and on, activates
the optional product lift and displays weight from
the load cell option.

volume of air for accurate and consistent product
rates. Bourgault utilizes a two fan product
delivery system for double-shoot air kits to
maximize efficiency, simplify settings, and to
minimize any plugging problems.
Don’t strain yourself by lugging seed bags or
calibration boxes up the tank stairs! Simply lift
and then hydraulically to the top of the air seeder
platform (250 lb capacity).
Bourgault also has the Higher Output Fan option

The X20 Monitor/Controller by Topcon is an
optional system which performs monitor and
controller functions simultaneously. The large,
colour touch display provides a colourful, easy to
understand graphic interface. The X20 allows you
to control up to 6 products including anhydrous or
liquid fertilizer.
The monitor/controller cab-mount display has no
moving parts to ensure long operational life in
an agricultural environment. Rate control, alarm
monitoring, graphic feedback, and other tasks are
all performed instantaneously. You can adjust
the voice and visual alarms to suit your working

The 8910 frame features five ranks of
4 x 4 x .250 wall tubing. These are connected
with continuous members above and below the
ranks, creating a deep profile for high strength
and many years of trouble-free operation. Forces
are transferred effectively throughout the frame to
ensure uniform soil penetration and consistent seed
placement, even in tough soils.
CONFIGURE FOR DIRECT SEEDING
Configure your Bourgault 10" spaced 8910 into the
8910 Culti-Drill. Equip your 8910 with your choice
of mounted packer wheel options, low-disturbance
seed openers, and optional Series 25 Mid Row
Banders for an effective one-pass seeding system.
You have the ability to adjust the packing pressure
of the on-row mounted packer wheels with the Titan
arms to suit the seeding conditions. The poly-gang,
or independent style packers, provide up to 50 lb/
wheel on average, whereas the heavy-duty packers
can be adjusted from 40 lb to 90 lb per wheel.

You are provided easy access to leveling locations.
Wrenches are provided for side-to-side adjustment
at the top of the depth control cylinders, and frontto-back adjustment at the screw jack between the
in-frame running gear and caster wheel.
The 8910 has five rows of shanks, mounted on an
8", 10" or 12" spacing, with a minimum of 32" or
40" respectively between shanks on the same row.
Special attention is given to clearance around the in
frame wheels of the implement.

The 8910 Cultivator incorporates walking in-frame
running gear that is slightly biased to the back
wheel. The front wheel will not have a tendency to
“dip down” in wetter conditions, minimizing your

contours is primarily related to frame depth and
wheel positioning. The in-frame running gear also
minimizes the distance to the front caster wheels,
so you can achieve consistent seed depth in hilly
conditions.

transfer all of the fertilizer / air seeder cart load directly to
the tractor. Two 8" hitch side beams are fixed to the outside
points of the mainframe to effectively pull the 9800. You can

operating depth with the hitch height adjustment mount.

MAXIMUM RESIDUE, MINIMUM EFFORT
The four-row design provides generous distance between
the sweeps and the wheels, and the shank arrangement has
been optimized to provide excellent residue flow. No other
chisel plow can even come close to matching the 9800’s
performance in heavy residue. The 9800 RHCP has two
general operational positions: an 18" regular lift range setting
and a 22" high lift range setting. Optional stabilizer wheels
are available to ensure even penetration when you

The Bourgault Cone Bottom LFCs are available in 1800, 2400, or 3000 US
Gallon sizes.
The LFC incorporates a 5th wheel style front axle, with a highly durable polymer
wear pad separating the large plates. The front axle pivots on a lubricated pin
and bushing system that offers a long life and trouble-free operation.
A heavy-duty electric clutch engages the ground driven pump. The operator
does not have to manually disconnect a drive shaft for transport, which is the
case on some competitive units.
You have a choice between a 34 gpm or 68 gpm rate ground driven piston
pump.
The optional 3" mounted transfer pump with Honda 6.5 hp engine will fill the
tank in minutes.

The 5925 ACD produces ultra-low soil disturbance when seeding into even the most
challenging conditions.

The large 20-½" diameter coulter disks are effective at cutting through tough field
residue such as corn, sunflower, or soybean stubble.
Seed directly into pasture land without pre-working the soil, allowing you to
minimize soil disturbance and preserve existing moisture.
The all-coulter 5925 creates less soil throw, allowing you to seed effectively at
higher speeds than conventional air hoe drills.
Equip the 5925 with MRBIII applicators for optimal location of nitrogen fertilizer in a
