MY EXPERIENCE WITH CHABAD!
Jewish Students away from home truly take the first step towards
an adult view of their religious and cultural identify when they visit
the Chabad House at Boston University. As a BU student myself, I
found the Chabad House to be extremely welcoming and wonderful
pace to celebrate Shabbat and Jewish Holidays. My freshman year
at BU I was very reluctant to go to the Chabad House. I had strayed
from my Judaism, as I was trying to find myself . However, I felt
something was missing. Around Pesach time, I told my mom how I
was feeling over the phone, and she suggested I go to Chabad
House. So I listened. I had never been so happy about making a decision in my life. Swept away by familiar melodies of prayers like
“Lecha Dodi” and scarfing down the Rebbetzins AMAZING challah,
my time at the Chabad House truly helped center me. I enjoyed being part of this incredible
community. The friends I have met
from Chabad , both BU students as well as students from Northeastern University and Berklee College of Music, have inspired me and
shared with me their perspectives. Not only have I met such incredible people at Chabad, and not only has Chabad helped bring me
back to my Jewish roots, the Chabad House also offers a variety of
amazing classes for students to take, including a Sinai Scholars
course.
Every Year, the High Holidays remind us of the importance of community and fresh starts. I encourage students who are still trying to
find their niche and where they fit in best in college to attend a
event at the Chabad House and see what an incredible, tight-knit
community Rabbi and Rebbetzin Posner have created! So come, grab
some challah, eat some kugel, sing songs, and enjoy the smiles at
the Chabad House of Greater Boston!
