The occasion of Mother’s Day is extraordinary for
all of us. It’s time to love, kiss and hug the most
precious creation of God - our Mom!
All through our lives we love to put our heads in
the lap of our mothers, unmindful of our status,
position and standing. For her, we always remain
the small kid but this is the day to visit our Mom,
spend time with her, hold her hands and reassure her of our love and care.
Also in this month’s issue we feature the story of the first ever Automated
Elections in Hong Kong and the experiences of the happy Overseas
Filipino Worker volunteers who spent their days off in helping in the
orderly elections at the Bayanihan Center in Kennedy Town. Those were
really days to remember, though the election turnout was low.
A lot of reasons are needed to consider in the result of the voters turnout
as maybe some of the registered voters may have already moved to another
country or went back to Philippines for good. Other reasons were maybe
some of the voters did not believe and trust in some of the candidates and
they just decided to boycott the elections. Whatever reasons they have
in mind, Hong Kong has performed indeed a successful and peaceful
elections.
It was really an enjoyable experience for us Filipinos to have this
automated elections as cheating may have been minimized and results
announced fast and easy. I only hope that we can sustain this kind of
development and hope to improve more in the coming elections.
I admire those candidates who had shown their sportsmanship act by
conceding early upon learning that they really lost to their rivals.
I only hope that whoever wins in this democratic exercise will continue to
protect the welfare of the Filipino Overseas Workers and make our country
strong and stable so that there is no need for us to leave our country to earn
a living. I also hope that they can control corruption as it is the biggest
problem of our country which pulls our economy down.
We also have the different association activities and the preparation for
the biggest celebration of the 112th Phillippine Independence celebration
which iss to be held for the first time at the Victoria Park and the longest
parade of cultural performances such as Sinulog Festivals, Dinagyang,
Moriones and others.
The Philippine Independence Day Organizing Committee or PIDOC, The
Philippine Consulate General office in Hong Kong in cooperation with
the Philippine Association of Hong Kong will lead the two-day event to
showcase the beauty and the richness of the Philippine culture dubbed as
“Hou Yeh Pinoy”.
Happy reading !!!

center campaigning for the Liberal Party.
Gabriela and Bong Bong Marcos for senator

with the outcome of the elections .

current state of the vice-presidential race in the
Philippines. The Commission on Elections’

OFWs told to Invest in Government
by Chloe Belle D. Dogeno
Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Singapore,
United Arab Emirates, Italy, Germany and
Hong Kong.
She reiterated, “Lately, highly skilled workers
na ang lumalabas sa ating bansa. Kaya medyo
kabansa.”
Hailed as modern day heroes by saving
Philippines Economy in bankruptcy through
their remittances, OFWs were told to invest in
the government. Will there be enough for the
breadwinners to save whose big chunk of their
wages goes to the daily consumption of their
family because of the surging prices of prime
commodities and services in the country?
Maghigpit daw ng sinturon in order to save but
one says, “Ano pa ang hihigpitan at wala na
nga? However financial expert’s says, financial
literacy or money management is the answer.
According to Undersecretary of Department
of Finance Jeremias Paul, “Canadian Task
Force on Financial Literacy defines Financial
Literacy as having the knowledge, skills and
confidence to make responsible financial
decisions. And having the proper knowledge
of the topic will enable OFWs to save for their
future.”
On 18 April 2010, the Republic of Philippines
Bureau of Treasury through the Philippine
Consulate General Office in Hong Kong
sponsored a Financial Literacy Briefing on
OFWs in the territory held at Renaissance
Harbor View Hotel in Wan Chai. Vice
President Noli De Castro, Presidential
Chairman on OFW Affairs led the team from
Sponsoring Government Agencies; Bangko
Sentral ng Pilipinas, Department of Finance
and Department of Foreign Affairs.
Noli de Castro told to OFWs.
6
Ibig, meron kayong madudukot,” Fabiana
said.
He added that HDMF is a stable financial
institution that helps the country’s labor force.
As the number one housing loan provider,
Pag- ibig had given six out of ten housing
loans to Filipinos. The agency’s housing loan
centerpiece program is providing 300 houses
per day to Filipinos and fifty of which were
OFWs. Its Calamity Loan had released a
total of P14B for its members lashed out by
Typhoon Ondoy last year.
The forum was with coordination from
BPI Capital Corporation, PNB Capital and
Investment Corp., First Metro Investment
Corp., and Land Bank.
What’s Cooking?
from the book, How to Process meat for Business and Family Consumption
Meal planning and preparation is sometimes
a difficult and challenging task to do. In this
page, Friends Club International member and
writer of “How to Process Meat for Business
and Family Consumption”, Chloe Belle de la
Gente-Dogeno wishes to share some recipes,
procedures and tips in cooking that will surely
help everyone.
1. Pork Loaf Supreme
Also Chairman to Home Development Mutual
Fund Chairman, de Castro said the forum
aims to share the various financial instruments
to OFWs which they could invest. And to
present the newly approved charter of HDMF
called the Pag- ibig 2.
Points to ponder from The Financial Literacy
Briefing:
Manalac
concluded.
pangangailangan. At upang higit na
mapadami ang tulong na dinadala ninyo sa
ating bansa. Philippines were stable during the
global financial crisis because of the OFWs
remittances,” he added. He also warned against
investing in unscrupulous Franchising Scams
advising OFWs to check with the Department
of Trade and Industry before plunging for
investment.
Echoing to VP de Castro was Bangko Sentral
ninyo dito. Dahil nakikita ang BSP noong
earlier years ang major portion ng remittances
ay napupunta sa consumptions pero ngayon ay
napupunta na sa investments.
According to Manalac, on a research
conducted by BSP and Commission on
Filipino Workers in 2009, 8.7 M Filipinos are
living in 239 countries globally and forty- eight
percent were temporary/ OFWs. From the
average remittance of each migrant per year
of 2000 US$ in 1990 it jumped to 13000 in
2009. Thus making Philippines ranked 4th as
remittance recipient next to Mexico, India and
China; drawing its source from US, Canada,

during the forum was Reynaldo A. Montalban
of First Metro Investment Corp., “Iyon pong

available lang sa Pilipinas. Ang makakabili nito
at makakapirma ng application to purchase ay
iyong immediate family. Gagamitin po nila
ang iyong POEA number to qualify sa tax

said.
Jaime A. Fabiana of Home Development
Mutual Fund (Pag- Ibig) briefed the OFWs
about the Pag- Ibig 2 or the Pag- Ibig Savings
Program. The program is voluntary to all the
Filipino Workers including OFWs with a

WANTS A SURE BUY
Dear Bro. Rolly
I want to seek your advice about a 3-hectare
agricultural lot worth Pesos 300,000 that my
husband wants to buy in our province. The lot
could be planted with corn, sugarcane or fruitbearing trees and at least a hectare could be used
for rice planting. The owner is now asking for
a down-payment of Pesos 150,000 but I am

OUT OF WEDLOCK
Dear Bro. Rolly,
Cancerian, North Point
Dear Miss Cancerian,
Before buying any property, you should
find out first if it is still mortgaged with a
bank or a person. If so, the present owner
will not be able to sell it unless release of
the mortgagee is secured and granted. The
name of the mortgagee/bank is normally
annotated on the Title of the mortgaged
property. You can check with the Land &
Title Deeds of the city hall or municipal
hall where the property is located whether
it is “clean” or not.
If the property is not mortgaged, then
it is wholly owned by the owner and you
need not worry as he has all the legal
rights to sell it.
Agricultural lots covered by the
CARP (Comprehensive Agrarian Reform
Program) normally cannot be sold to
anybody by the tenant originally awarded
of its ownership.
Valuation of the property depends
on the prevailing market price where it
is located. It is advisable, to appoint a

Five years I gave birth to my only child
whose father I never married because I was
scared about rumors that he was previously
married. And so when I registered my son, the
surname in the entry in the birth certificate is
mine and not his father’s.
A couple of months ago when I spent my
holidays in Manila, my son’s father visited us
with the intention of being reunited with us.
I learned from him, and this was confirmed by
my other relatives and close friends, that during
the past five years while he had a girlfriend they
never got married and never had any child. He
has a stable job and although he looked a bit
older than when I last saw him he still carries
with him that charm and sweetness. He was
sincere in coming back and almost every day
during my short vacation he would eat with
us, bring gifts to me and his son as if courting
me again. In fact he has proposed that we get
married in the church.
Dear Glo,
When you finally decide to marry
your boyfriend, you should not only
consider the legal status of your son but
more importantly, your and his attitude
towards marriage which is a sacred act.
The fact that you are still working in
Hong Kong as a helper is an impediment
because you will not be able to perform
your duties and obligations as a wife
and mother. There have been so many
marriages that were broken and went
to naught because the act of marriage
cannot be performed by “long distance”
when one of the couple is working
abroad.
If you want to really settle down,
you should also decide to stay for good
in Manila and be with your son and
husband. Since he has a stable job, as
you said, he is capable enough to support
you and therefore free you from working
elsewhere.
An illegitimate child, conceived and
born outside of wedlock of parents, can
be legitimated by the subsequent valid
marriage between said parents. And
so when you marry your boyfriend and
becomes your husband, your son will
be a legitimate one and consequently
should assume his father’s surname in
all his official records.
Bro. Rolly
I think and feel that I still love him and I
am almost decided to succumb to his marriage
proposal. If I married him, what will be the
effect on the record of my son as far as his
surname is concerned since he was born out of
wedlock, and therefore an illegitimate child.

AGUADO CASE: Robbery –Stealing from another using force - Part 2
Ben Aguado (not his real name) was charged
with Robbery at the Fan Ling Magistracy Court
in November 2008. He pleaded not guilty to the
charge and proceeded to trial in February 2009.
Ben working as a domestic helper/gardener
with the same employer for the last 8 years, his
day went to a Karaoke together with his friends
thereafter resulting in a scuffle of 7 people. After
the fighting, Alex Barbas (not his real name)
found his wallet missing together with his
month’s salary of HK$ 4,500. Alex reported the
matter to the police and alleged that Ben stole his
wallet during the brawl.
----... continued
In closing arguments, this counsel posed
various doubts as to the credibility of Alex.
Why should Alex wait for one week before
making a police report and have Ben arrested
if Alex was very sure about what happened at
the karaoke and what happened to his missing
backpack, wallet and money? …
HKID is crucial when roaming the streets of
HK. Everybody makes sure they carry their
HKIDs as well as their mobile phones when
deciding to leave the house. Why did Alex not
report his missing ID card? Other important
items such as his missing MTR card, ATM
card (if any were) also not reported. Why did
Alex not even report the missing backpack to
the police?
There is reasonable doubt as to the injuries
inflicted by Ben. The medical report of
Alex is inconsistent with his allegations of
assault in the various parts of his body. The
accounting of how much money left after
all the expenses that day does not tally with
his missing HK$ 4,500. Then we have the
various telephone calls that Alex made to the
manager of the karaoke, Angela and to Ben.
Alex was not sure where and when he lost his
backpack. The evidence of the prosecution is
not clear as to whether the wallet is inside the
backpack or his wallet was inside his trouser
pockets.
The evidence of Iqbal contradicts the evidence
14
of Alex. Iqbal saw drunk Filipinos struggling
with each other, Ben as if trying to referee the
fight. Iqbal thought nothing serious would
come out of the struggle because it is just
the normal pushing and pulling. Iqbal also
supports the innocence of Ben as Iqbal did not
see Ben carrying anything when he brought
Ben home. There is nothing to suggest that
Iqbal’s evidence cannot be relied upon.
The verdict of the magistrate was based
on the legal principle that the duty lies on
Alex to prove all the essential elements of
the offence of Robbery. The standard of the
evidence should be beyond reasonable doubt.
If there is doubt, the benefit goes to Ben and
Ben should be acquitted accordingly.
The magistrate considered all the evidence
available before him. He found the evidence
of Alex full of material inconsistencies. The
manner in which Alex sustained his injuries
does not support the medical report. Alex
would have informed the doctor on duty
regarding his head being assaulted during
medical treatment. It would be crucial that
Alex’s head injury be treated first for possible
head fracture to avert fatal complications.
The period of 7 days before Alex made the
first report to the police is open to various
inferences that Alex is not sure how he lost his
wallet, when he lost it and where he possibly
lost it. Alex admitted to making a phone call
to the karaoke manager and made inquiries
as to missing backpack. Why did Alex not
tell the manager that his wallet was missing?
The magistrate is in doubt as to whether only
the backpack was missing. Alex is not sure
thus he asked the manager to inquire from the
other customers of the karaoke regarding the
missing backpack.
The various telephone calls of Alex to Ben
are also consistent to the irresistible inference
that Alex is not sure how he lost his wallet,
when he lost it and where he possibly lost
it. There is no logical explanation why Alex
should demand return of HK$ 4,500 from
Ben and at the same time asking Ben if he has
seen his wallet. It must be because Alex is not
sure whether Ben took his wallet.
Boses ng OFW
The evidence of Alex is fraught with
questions. Why indeed Alex did not report
his missing backpack, missing HKID card,
and missing MTR card? The only logical
explanation is because he is not interested in
these 3 items. Alex reported only the missing
cash of HK$ 4,500. Alex in the circumstances
may not have lost his HKID card and MTR
card after all, but only his missing cash. If
his HKID card and MTR card are with him,
then his wallet is probably with him save for
the missing cash. Alex could not give proper
accounting of how much money he has on
that day and how much money he spent. It
does not come up to HK$ 4,500 as money
missing.
Ben, being the defendant has no duty to prove
his innocence. He elected not to give evidence
as it is his right and no adverse inference
could be made against him for his election.
Even if Ben gave evidence but he being of
clear record would have less propensity to lie.
Nevertheless, Ben elected to call evidence
through Iqbal.
The magistrate heard the evidence of Iqbal
and considered his demeanor when giving
his evidence and the magistrate find Iqbal as
a reliable witness. There was nothing serious
as to cause Iqbal or anybody present to call
police or to call the ambulance. From what
Iqbal saw, the injuries sustained by Alex are
consistent with the medical report. There are
no exaggerations in his narrative of what
he saw Ben trying to stop the fight between
drunk Filipino men. Iqbal and Ben are not
even friends and are of different nationality
and culture. The magistrate cannot find a
possible collusion between Ben and Iqbal.
The magistrate finds Iqbal truthful and he
believes Iqbal’s evidence.
There are doubts in the evidence of the
prosecution that the magistrate cannot
reconcile. The prosecution failed to prove
all the essential elements of the offence of
robbery to the required standard of proof of
beyond reasonable doubt. The benefit of the
doubt goes to Ben and Ben is acquitted of the
charge.
OFWs. Kasi marami silang naiisip na
pagkakagastusan natin para lang kumita
sila. Sana mabigyan din nila tayong
mga nagtatrabaho sa labas ng bansa
ng karampatang serbisyo at tulong. Kagaya ng mga livelihood
trainings at iba pa para may pagkakakitaan tayo pag- uwi natin sa
ating bansa.
Clavelina Cordova, Tseung Kwan O
Tigilan ang korupsiyon. Imbes na
mapupunta sa mga Pilipino ang
benepisyo ay napupunta sa bulsa ng
mga opisyal ng gobyerno. Bigyan ng
importansiya ang edukasyon sa atin,
klasrom at gamit sa mga estudyante. Saka
babaan ang presyo ng mga bilihin para
makatulong sa atin. Gawing voluntary
Jasmin Boringot, Tai Hang
Linisin ng bagong Presidente ang
gobyerno. Tanggalin ang mga kurakot na
opisyal para matigil ang korupsiyon dito.
Ipatigil niya ang pangingikil sa Customs
at Police.
Danny Aldea, Sham Shui Po
ating gobyerno. Lubog na ito at walang
pag- asa dahil sa malalang korupsiyon.
Boboto ka nga pero halos lahat naman
magnanakaw kaya walang pagbabago.
Marami tayong mga batas na sa umpisa
lang maayos at mabuting napapatupad
pero kapag tumagal ay wala na. Uso
sa atin ang palakasan. Ginagamit ng mga nakaupo ang kanilang
impluwensiya para sa kanilang pansariling interes.
Erlita A. Aguilar, Happy Valley
Ang gusto kung mangyari ay unahin na
resolbahin ang korupsiyon sa gobyerno
para naman gumanda ang buhay sa
Pilipinas. Kinakailangan na ayusin ng
bagong Presidente ang kalagayan ng
bansa at huwag ang kanyang sariling
interes. Dapat niyang lutasin ang krisis
sa ekonomiya para gumanda ang takbo
nito.
Julie Bolesa, Pokfulam
Dapat na tigilan na ng gobyerno ang
paglabas ng Manggagawang Pilipino.
Itinuring tayong mga bagong bayani
kaya narararapat nilang bigyan ng
serbisyo at benepisyo. Kailangan na
magkaroon ng transparency sa pera na
binabayad ng mga OFWs, halimbawa sa
OEC at OWWA.
Rosario B. Abellera, Tseung Kwan O
Dapat na tuparin ng Presidente ang
kanyang pangako, unahin ang bayan at
hindi bulsa. Kailangan niyang resolbahin
Liza Madriaga, North Point

A New Era in Philippine Polls
by Ptr. Liza R. Asis
B
y the time this issue will be released, the
2010 Philippine Election is already finished.
As of the writing of this article, only 34,076
out of the 95,355 registered Filipino voters in
Hongkong have cast their ballot with only three
voting days left. It is sad to know that the voting populace expressed
disinterest in the electoral process for the primary reason that their vote
will be wasted. Common comments from our kababayan were, ‘Pag
This is aggravated by news
in the Philippines of irregularities in the reading of the ballots by the
Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines during their testing.
Voters queue up at Bayanihan Center
Philippine election is widely known to be riddled with cheating, votebuying, intimidation and even violence. In the polls to come, let us
continue to be vigilant and to examine closely the candidates whom we
will entrust our vote. Do they have integrity? Do they have the capacity
to lead our nation? Do they love the Filipino people? Do they have the
fear of God?
When we study the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament, it is
noteworthy that whenever God’s chosen people, Israel, had a good and
righteous ruler, God’s blessings and favor flowed to the nation from the
leader down to the common people. Without a doubt, righteousness
and blessings are interconnected. Proverbs 14:31 clearly says, ‘Godliness
makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.’ The legendary
King David who led the Israel to greatness was a godly man who
enjoyed closeness with God. Acts 13:22 tells us that he is a man about
whom God said, ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after My own
heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’ Most of David’s life was
spent in obedience to God’s commands; the very reason why, during
his reign, Israel was exalted by God above the nations around them.
These blessings enjoyed by Israel during King David’s time extended
to the next generation during the rule of his son, King Solomon, when
Israel reached the pinnacle of her glory. In King Solomon’s period of
power, he made silver ‘as common in Jerusalem as stones’ (1 Kings
10:27a). On top of that, no Israelites worked as laborers whether inside
or outside the country. All the Israelites occupied the top ranks and
high paying jobs! Those who were conscripted to the labor force were
descendants from other nations (1 Kings 9:20-23).
But the moment Israel had a succession of wicked rulers, Israel’s
spirituality began to decline and this eventually led to her downfall.
As a punishment, God allowed His people to be overpowered by the
Babylonians and many of them were exiled to Babylon for 70 yearshumiliated, enslaved and mocked.

Corrupt Country in Asia, just to mention a few. These infamous
reputations have stuck like a leech to the Filipino persona, creating a
negative impression wherever we go. I recall an incident when I visited
Shanghai in November of 2008. I was stopped by a Chinese customs
officer by the exit of the airport for further inspection. People from
other countries passed through the officer without a hitch while my
luggage had to go through a scanner. Not satisfied with this, another
officer opened my bag and one by one, my folded clothes were removed.
My cosmetic pouch was inspected next and the officer examined
considerably the glycerine oil that I brought with me to fight off the
cold of winter in Shanghai.
Subjected to harassment because of one’s nationality, this is the
harsh reality that Filipinos face in Hongkong and China. I have also
experienced being shouted upon by taxi drivers here, a behavior they
will not normally display when dealing with other foreigners. If we
haven’t noticed yet, we are being degraded and discriminated against
because of our race, since our leaders failed to lead us to development
and progress. However, hope is not lost, I believe we can still regain the
lost glory of the Philippines. We still have a chance to change for the
better. Change starts within us. Let this be the start of an era where
voters are more involved and discerning, refusing to sell their votes and
be swayed by the results of popularity surveys. As former Secretary of
the Securities Exchange Commission, Perfecto Yasay aptly put it, ‘If
we dump the good candidate because we think he’s got no chance to
win, no good candidate will ever have the chance to serve us.’ Let us
participate in the future polls knowing that our vote is valuable AND
powerful because it can either catapult us into greatness or bring us
further dishonor. May pag-asa pa, mabuhay ang lahing Pilipino!

Those who enrolled for the Baking class

Balitang Showbiz
ni Noel Asinas
Rocco Nacino,
nabaling ang
pagtingin kay
Kris Bernal
Comedy Bar nina Eugene at Allan
K. magpapasakit ng tiyan nyo sa
katatawa
Elmo Magalona, most requested
In between ng take ng tatlong production numbers ni
Elmo, nagpainterview siya sa piling entertainment reporters. Masayang
singing. Pero, gusto ko ring pasukin
ang acting. Hilig ko ring umarte. Kaya
lang wala pang nag-aalok sa akin.’
Proud si Elmo nang sabihin naming
bagay silang magkapartner ni Barbie
Forteza. Aba, natawa lang ang
binata. Kasi, never pa raw siyang
nakapangligaw o magkagirlfriend.
Kasi, focus si Elmo sa kanyang
bumobonggang showbiz career.
Birthday celebration ni Elmo sa Party
Pilipinas ngayong Sunday. Kasama
rin niyang ka-birtday ay ang isa sa
member ng Vocalistas na si Miguel
Escueta.

Heart limot
na si Jericho
NAGBABAGO na ang ihip ng hangin
sa katauhan ni Rocco Nacino. Aba,
madaling magbago ng sinasabi
niyang crush ngayon.
Bukambibig niyang crush noon ay
Jennylyn Mercado. Dahil estudyante
lang siya ay napapanood na
niya ito bilang performer. Nang
nalaman naman ni Rocco na gusto
siyangmakapartner ni Kris Bernal.
Aba, di nagdalawang isip ang binata
na sabihin na nang sapulna nakita
niya sa StarSTruck si Kris ay crush
na niya agad ang mukha ng dalaga.
Lalo pa siyang umanga sa dalaga
dahil very versatile ito pagdating sa
acting at singing. Ani Rocco: ‘Basta
flattered ako. Alam magaling nang
artista si Kris. Tapos, ako baguhan
lang.’ Sa tanong naliligawan niya
si Kris, aba, nagnagsalita agad si
Rocco na di niya priority ngayon ang
pakikipagrelasyon.
Lusak.
You To Me Are Everything

NADAGDAGAN ng 10 theaters ang successful movie

million ang total gross sa buong Pilipinas.

Ang
pinagtutuunan
ng
panahon ngayon ni Heart
ay ang kanyang dalawang
programa sa GMA 7, ang Party
Pilipinas tuwing Sunday at ang
soon to be aired soap, Langit
Sa Piling Mo. Dahil naka-focus
Rosales. After silang magjhiwalay ang dalawa, once
pa lang daw silang nagkitang dalawa. Hanggang batian

NAIA3 dahil very daring ang kanyang outfit.
lalabas akong bar girl. Makikipagkissing scene ako kay Tonton Gutierrez. Bukod
personalities.
Di naman po sobrang sexy at daring ang role ko dito, kasi, 17 years old bar girl lang
Mark Herras, gusto
nang i-handle ang
sariling kita
TWO days ago ay pumunta na
si Mark Herras sa bangko para
official na siya ang hahawak ng
lahat ng kita niya sa showbiz.
Three years ago pang gusto na
niyang gawin ito. Pero, super
busy pa siya. Kaya ngayon
lang niya nagawa na kunin
ang pera niya sa mga taong
pinagkatiwalaan niya. Okay
naman lahat ang pera niyang
kinita.
First team up ito nila ni
Heart Evangelista. Kaya excited si Mark. Kasama rin sa cast sina JC Tiuseco, Ryza Cenon, Daniel
Matsunaga, Sheryl Cruz, Rey PJ Abellana, Tontion Gutierrez, Maritoni Fernadez at iba pa.

Gusto nilang laging may performance sila tuwing Sunday. Si Elmo ay laging may tatong
production numbers.
First time nilang naungusan ang kalabang
show.
Aba, maraming
taga Antipolo City ang dumumog sa Ynares. Estimated ang crowd na sumugod sa more
than four thousand.
Me Da Manny sa Coco Grove, Laiya, San Juan, Batangas, last Tuesday, dahil sa nasa ospital
Maaaring Thursday or earlier
pa.

Anung ligaya aking nadama,
Ngunit may luha ng lumisan na,
Na nagmula sa yong mga mata.
Ako y lumapit at niyakap ka,
Saka nasabing mahal na kita,
Ngunit pagmulat ng aking mata,
Ikaw ay panaginip lang pala.

Prime Gold Celebrates 7 Anniversary
th
On Mother’s Day 2003, the loan service for
OFWs in Hong Kong was forever changed.
Prime Gold Plus, a business unit of PrimeCredit
Limited, was created and introduced to the
OFW market.
The establishment of Prime Gold changed
and paved the way for a better loan service
environment for Overseas Filipino Workers
in Hong Kong. Prime Gold was the first-ever
financial institute to offer the lowest interest
rate and processing fee. Aside from that, the
attention given to customers was thorough yet
friendly – professional and tight relationships
were created and last until this day. Prime Gold’s
polite and competent service quickly became
the benchmark for all financial institutions in
Hong Kong that cater to OFWs.
As a way of thanking their customers, Prime
Gold prepared some fun carnival games at
branches where each customer can win an
instant gift after playing the selected game. On
top of this, for every HKD 10,000 loan amount,
customers will receive one raffle ticket to win a
brand new HP Mini Laptop. The result of the
lucky draw will be announced in June 2010.
Certainly the highlight of this celebration
is the opening of Prime Gold to the whole
OFW market in Hong Kong. OFWs who are
new in Hong Kong or who have been working
in Hong Kong for a shorter period are now
welcome and encouraged to experience Prime
Gold’s loan services.
For more information about Prime Gold’s
products and services, call or approach any
Prime Gold branch.

times when you’ve come face to face with this

thinking get you down criticism for its own sake
is a waste of time. Lack of confidence can take
the wind out of your sails, so believe in yourself
even when others don’t. Sail straight and true
through the currents of self-doubt and ignore the
sometimes jealous remarks of others who would
see you give up. Small, multiple moves are favored
