Welcome to Rutgers Day
Rutgers has a worldwide reputation for excellence, but its roots are right here in New Jersey.
Every day, in many ways, Rutgers touches the lives of people throughout the state. At Rutgers
Day, a wonderful new tradition, we celebrate these connections and reaffirm our commitment
to the people we serve. We’re delighted that you have chosen to spend a festive day at your
state university—and we hope you return again and again.
Richard L. McCormick, President
General Information
Campus Greeters
These specially trained Rutgers students are easy to recognize in their neon-orange T-shirts. You can rely on
them to answer all your questions and point you in the right direction. Our Campus Greeters are the resident
experts on the zones they roam and are great travel guides with their tear-off map pads and encyclopedic
knowledge of Rutgers.
Information Tents
Visit the information tents on each campus to ask questions, get directions, pick up campus maps, and request
first aid and other assistance.
Rutgers Day Bus Loop
The free Rutgers Day Bus Loop runs continuously to the Busch, College Avenue, Cook/Douglass, and
Livingston campuses, with stops in downtown New Brunswick. Please note that only official guide dogs for the
seeing or hearing impaired are allowed on Rutgers buses. See the facing page for a transportation map.
First Aid and Emergency Services
Assistance with first aid and other emergencies is available at the information tents as well as from Rutgers Day
staff and Rutgers public safety personnel. Emergency phones are located throughout our campuses. Call the
Rutgers Police at 732-932-7211 or dial 911.
Lost Persons
Immediately report a lost person to the nearest information tent or to any Rutgers Day staff member in a
neon-green or neon-orange T-shirt. You can also call the Rutgers Police at 732-932-7211.
Lost Items
Report or bring lost items to the nearest information tent.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available in all open buildings.
CONTENTS
Accessibility

historic buildings) are wheelchair accessible. Passenger
golf carts are available in some areas of the Busch and
Cook/Douglass campuses for visitors with mobility issues.

In the event of heavy rain or other severe weather, many
outdoor events will move into the nearest building.
Tented events will remain outdoors.
Photography and Videography
Please note that photographs and videos taken at Rutgers
Day may appear in our publications and website. By
attending Rutgers Day, you grant Rutgers all rights to use
these photos and videos in any medium and for all purposes that support the mission of the university. Please
