“TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013” kicks off
Ruco Chan, Eliza Sam and Him Law arrived at Malaysia for Canvassing Activities
(Hong Kong – 11 November 2013) The top-quality TVB productions have long been
receiving worldwide recognition. Regarded as the prelude to the TV Awards Presentation of
TVB, the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013 is going to be held at Star Stage @ KWC at
Kuala Lumpur on 1 December (Sun). The award presentation will be organised by TVB
Entertainment News for the first time and Astro and MyFM as media partners. Voting will
open to all Malaysians as a token of appreciations towards continuous support from
audiences. Fans are able to vote for their favourite dramas, characters, songs and variety
programmes in 13 categories. To promote the award presentation, nominees Ruco Chan,
Eliza Sam and Him Law arrived at Kuala Lumpur during 8 – 9 November to kick off the
brilliant show!
The award presentation will be held at 8:00 pm on 1 December with live broadcast by TVB
Entertainment News Channel and Astro Wah Lai Toi. MyFM will also deliver live radio
broadcast to audiences. The nomination list of the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013 has been
announced on 11 November and it has triggered the voting atmosphere in town. Ruco Chan,
Eliza Sam and Him Law deliberately flew to Malaysia for a series of canvassing activities.
Jarvis Chow, the popular TVB Entertainment News Channel anchor, hosted the promotional
activities as a warm-up before the show. On the first night (8 Nov), three artistes attended
the event at Taman Segar Pasar Malam at Cheras. LED canvassing truck also appeared to
attract attention. Three artistes all expressed excitement for being nominated and took the
chance to ask voters for support. On the next day (9 Nov), Ruco Chan and Eliza Sam visited
selected family to present gifts and chat with subscribers. In the afternoon, they attended the
promotional activity at Astro Lifestyle Center at IPC Shopping Centre. The venue was fully
packed with several hundreds of long-awaited fans. They screamed when the artistes showed
up on stage. Ruco and Eliza made good use of the chance to ask for supports from audiences.
At night, they showed up AEON Bukit Tinggi (Zone B Entrance) and even played
interactive games with fans. They reminded once again the audiences not to miss the voting
period during 1 – 22 November to support TVB artistes and productions!
The Hippocratic Crush II is now airing and it is nominated for My Favourite TVB Drama
Series. Drama cast Eliza Sam and Him Law urged for support and Him was even nominated
for My Favourite Top 15 TVB Drama Characters. Performing female flying tiger, Eliza

entered the final of My Favourite TVB Actress in a Supporting Role for the first time. With
the brilliant performance in Brother’s Keeper, Ruco Chan was nominated My Favourite
TVB Actor in a Leading Role and he was also one of the competitors in the category of My
Favourite TVB On Screen Couple with Linda Chung. Brother’s Keeper also entered to
compete for the award of My Favourite TVB Drama Series. They also ask for supports from
voters wholeheartedly and wished fans would support them in the award presentation.
Voting campaign opens to all Malaysian audiences. During 1 – 22 November, fans are able
to vote and support your favourite dramas, characters, song and variety programmes. There
are altogether 13 nomination categories, including My Favourite TVB Drama Series, My
Favourite TVB Actor in a Leading Role, My Favourite TVB Actress in a Leading Role, My
Favourite TVB Actor in a Supporting Role, My Favourite TVB Actress in a Supporting Role,
My Favourite TVB Promising Actor, My Favourite TVB Promising Actress, My Favourite
TVB On Screen Couple, My Favourite TVB Drama Theme Song, My Favourite Top 15
TVB Drama Characters, My Favourite TVB Variety Program, My Favourite TVB
Enrichment Program and My Favourite TVB Host in Variety Program. Intense competition
