National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week, April 12-18, 2015, is about inspiring,
recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative
ways to engage in their communities.
FNRC will be recognizing our wonderful
group of volunteers during our Thanks a
“Latte” Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on
Wednesday, April 15, at 2:30 p.m. in the main
dining room. Everyone is welcomed to join
us in showing our appreciation to our dedicated and caring volunteers!
April is National Occupational
Therapy Month
April is National Occupational Therapy Month! Intervention
provided by occupational therapists and occupational therapy
assistants in skilled nursing facilities are associated with positive
outcomes. Occupational therapy (OT) practitioners are uniquely
qualified to utilize client-centered evaluations to identify
strengths and barriers to occupational performance of roles and
activities which are meaningful or necessary for that individual.
Short term rehabilitation services may be provided to individuals
with diagnoses such as joint replacements, stroke, cardiovascular
and pulmonary conditions. Long-term care is also provided for
permanent residents of the facility who have chronic or
progressive illnesses or diagnoses such as dementia or those who
have positioning needs.
Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recognizes our
occupational therapy department which consists of Erica Fazenbaker, Bethany Morozek and Bridget McCormick.
Happy OT month and thank you for all you do for our residents!
