FACILITY USE CHANGES
It has been brought to our attention that the fees and restrictions established for the use of the hall, kitchen and classrooms is
preventing some ministries from using them. This was never the intent. Therefore, effective July 1, 2015 the restrictions regarding
eating in these rooms and fees assessed for the use of them are no longer in effect.
These restrictions and fees were put in place to offset the expenses of repairs, excess cleaning requirements. The removal of them
does not eliminate the need to assess fees when the facility has not been cleaned, trash not removed and damages not repaired by
the user.
Fundraisers where IHM is not the direct recipient of all profits will continue to be charged the usage fees. If you have any
questions concerning this, please contact Margaret Hoover in the parish office (925)-634-4154.
We are all blessed that we can meet and share God’s word in this beautiful place. Please treat it with the care and respect given to
our own homes.
CAMBIOS PARA EL USO DE LOS SALONES DEL ICM
Nos ha llegado a nuestra atención que los honorarios que se pagan para usar los salones de nuestra Iglesia han limitado a muchos
de los ministerios el uso del Salón principal, los otros salones y la cocina. Esto nunca fué nuestra intención; por eso, efectivo el
1 de Julio del 2015 las limitaciones que teniamos de no comer en estos salones y los honorarios que se cobraban para su uso ya no
existirán.
Estas limitaciones y honorarios fueron impuestos para compensar los gastos de reparaciones, y el exceso de limpieza. La
eliminación de cobrar honorarios por uso de salones no limita la necesidad de cobrar honorarios cuando los salones no los dejan
limpios, basura no se ha botado y daños no se han reparado por el grupo que usa estos salones.
Recaudación de fondos donde ICM no es el destinatario directo de los fondos se les continuará a cargar los honorarios que se
cobran ahora. Si Ud. Tiene alguna pregunta sobre esto, por favor pongase en contacto con Margaret Hoover en la oficina de la
parroquia al (925) 634-4154.

GIVE AND IT WILL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU VI
I wrote last week about pledging in the Episcopal Parish when I was 18 years old, and my plan was to give $5.00 per week if I had it
in my wallet. I mentioned that when I signed the pledge card I got cold feet and scratched out the $5 and put a $2, but was resolved
if I had the money, I would give the original amount. As it turned out each week somehow there was a five dollar bill which I
tucked it into the offering envelope and put it in the offering basket. At the end of that year, the treasurer of the parish wanted to
know who was this “Jerry Brown?” As it turned out, I was the largest donor in the parish that year! A mere teenager. In retrospect
I was putting God to the test, saying if the money would be available I would give it. Later on I found that in Malachi the prophet
issued just such a challenge to those who had been withholding their tithe: “Bring the full tithe into the temple….put me to the test
and see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you and pour down upon you blessing without measure.” [Mal 3:10] Looking
back I see that is precisely what I had done although out of ignorance. Actually I had given quite a bit more than a tithe, for 10% of
my earnings would have been $2.50 each week. I was never very good in math! IHM Pray for us Fr. Jerry

La semana pasada escribí sobre compromiso en la parroquia Episcopal cuando yo tenia 18 años de edad, y mi plan era de dar $5 a la
semana, si yo los tenia en mi billetera. Mencioné eso cuando firme la tarjeta de compromiso pero cuando me dio temor borre $5 y
puse $2, pero tenia resuelto que si tenia el dinero, yo daria la cantidad original. Pero como resultado cada semana de cualquier
manera tenia un billete de cinco, el cuál lo ponia en el sobre de donación y lo ponia en la cesta de donación. Al final de ese año, el
tesorero de la parroquia queria saber quien era este “Jerry Brown?” Pero como resultado, yo era uno de los que más daba en la
parroquia ese año! Un simple joven. Pero reflexionando, yo estaba poniendo a prueba a Dios , que si el dinero estaba disponible yo
lo daria. Mucho después yo supe que en Malaquias, el profeta anunció tal reto a los que estaban reteniendo sus donaciones:
“Entreguen pues todo lo que tienen al templo....traten después de probarme para ver si no les abro las compuertas del cielo o si
derramo para ustedes la lluvia bendita hasta la última gota.” (Mal 3:10). Pensandolo bien veo que eso fué precisamente lo que yo
hice aunque fué con ignorancia. Actualmente yo di un poco más del diezmo, el 10% de mis ganancias eran como $2.50 a la

Training for our Safe Environment Program is being held from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Unfortunately, The diocese will no longer offer
onsite training classes, nor will signed policies of expectations be accepted as proof of training. Therefore; all volunteers participating in any
IHM ministry must complete the training online at www.shieldthevulnerable.org. When you have completed the online training program,
please print your certificate of completion and give it to your IHM ministry leader. This certificate is valid for a three year period. Thank you for
