his crazy-looking beast
is from last year’s
Commonwealth champion,
Mike Lowe, a member of the
Scotland team. He insists that
this is his number-one choice
for catching rainbows from
small waters. It looks the part
with its Okey Dokey origins, but
Mike prefers his with the colour
combination turned on its head.

Place the hook in the vice and have Continually wind the white floss up

the correct profile as you go. Whip
finish and trim waste.
Give the fly a generous coat of
varnish, leave to dry and repeat
twice.
