Fandangles Finishing Instructions
Fandangles Finishing Instructions Prepare to make the beaded tassel and assemble the Fandangle. You will need the two finished stitched pieces, one skein of floss for the tassel, two cotton pads, heart bead, four assorted beads, beading needle, and invisible thread (not included in kit). Suggested product is Wonder Invisible Thread, item 820-978-0001). Trim the two cotton squares to fit inside the Fandangle. Using the invisible thread, sew half of the Fandangle together by stitching along the buttonhole edge. Tassel Making Pull the end of the floss so one complete length is out (A). Separate the floss at the end to make space for tying a knot around the floss (B). The ends of the thread become part of the tassel and can be trimmed if they are too long. Use size #8 to create the top of the tassel. Tightly wind the thread around the floss skein approximately three-fourths inch from the end. Wrap the end of the thread as you move towards the top of the skein and then wrap tightly as you go back to the starting point. Place a needle on the end of the thread and insert behind the wraps from bottom to top (C) and then back down again in a slightly different place so you catch some of the wrapped threads (D). Snip off the end of the thread. Thread the floss into the beading needle and go through the top center of the floss on top and then place the beads on the needle and pull through (E). (A) (B) (C) (D) (E) (F) Create the top loop by folding the floss and making a knot approximately 4 to 4 ½” down (F). This will be hidden inside the Fandangle. Place the tassel inside the Fandangle as shown. Use invisible thread to finish sewing the second half together. When sewing the top together, catch some of the floss hanger to secure in place. Be sure the top bead is right up against the bottom of the buttonhole stitch. www.nordicneedle.com [email protected] Copyright 2012, Nordic Needle, 1314 Gateway Drive, Fargo, North Dakota 58103
