Hand Beading Veil Instructions
~mRm~ Hand Beading Veil Instructions Materials Needed Clear Plastic Thread Needles Beads (seed, bugle, bicone or other) Scissors TIME!! Step 1 Start by threading multiple needles with the clear plastic thread. About 18” long is a good working length, too long and you risk getting knots and tangles as you bead. Having them pre-threaded helps the flow as you work. Step 2 Practice stringing a few beads on a thread to come up with your pattern. I alternated seed and bugle with a bicone placed once about every 1 ½ inches. I kept my beads in sealable plastic jars for easy access. Once you are happy with your pattern you can begin beading. Step 3 If your veil is not gathered where you will attach it to your comb, do so using hand stitching or a loose machine stitch. Starting at the edge near the gathers run your needle and thread through the edge of the tulle and knot securely. Thread your first bead, sliding in place down the thread and against the edge of the tulle. Run your needle back through the tulle where the bead stops. Make sure your tension is even. You don’t want your bead to be loose but you don’t want puckers. Step 4 Add your next bead, slide in place and run needle back through the tulle, check thread tension. Repeat as necessary to achieve your pattern. Knot thread off every few inches to prevent bead loss if you snag your edge while wearing. Continue around tier(s) until complete.
