Think carwash, think wet … not only is the current building full, it is not climate controlled, and is prone to moisture from
groundwater … not the place to continue storing sprint car racing’s treasures.
Construction of 3-story, climate controlled STAGING & STORAGE facility
Dozens, if not hundreds of sprint car enthusiasts want to share their treasures with the NSCHoF&M during or after their lifetimes.
We owe them a facility that will enable us to:

preserve what they have spent their lives collecting, and
•
prepare bigger and better museum displays
so that all future generations will know and appreciate the dedication and sacrifice that has built this great sport.

endowment
en –DOW – ment: contributions made to a not-for-profit organization which are set aside in a permanent investment fund to produce annual
income for the operational or program expenses of the organization. Provides financial security and growth potential for the future of a charitable organization.
Current Endowment Fund … the Jimmy Campbell estate and other generous donors have provided endowment gifts that today total more than $550,000. The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum has wisely invested the endowment earnings to insure the future
growth of our facilities and long-term financial stability.
If an additional $1,500,000 could be added to current endowment funds, approximately $100,000 in annual earnings could be produced
and used to support expanded facilities and programs.
Iowa donors have the unique opportunity to make an endowment gift and receive an ENDOW IOWA income tax credit of 25%; which, when combined with a federal income tax deduction, could make the out-of-pocket cost of the gift less than half the total given.

away).
I have been proud to be associated with the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum from its earliest days. It was a thrill
to see our current facility take shape and now stand complete according to the dreams of its founders.
Our success has drawn the attention of thousands of racers and fans alike, many of whom are looking to us as the final home
for their collections of equipment and memorabilia. We have the very unique opportunity to promote this great sport simply
by telling the stories of so many more champions.
So, let us not take our foot off the gas and risk becoming quietly irrelevant. EXPAND the DREAM is the first step of “second
generation growth” for NSCHoF&M. A new staging and storage facility will help us keep and preserve the significant
treasures we know to be coming our way. A larger endowment will ensure we have the operating strength to stage new
exhibits and begin new programs.
