2015 Annual Meeting and Election of Directors
All members are invited to the 2015 annual meeting
on March 5th at 5:30 p.m. at ACFCU’s branch at 104
Pasco Street, Berea, KY 40403. At the meeting, four
seats on the Board of Directors will be vacant and up
for election.
The Board of Directors has appointed a Nominating
Committee to recommend qualified members to fill
the vacancies. The Nominating Committee is
responsible for ensuring that nominees are qualified
and meet all federal requirements. The Nominating
Committee has nominated the four incumbent Board
Members to fill the open seats. A brief biography of
each nominee is below. Eligible members who would
like to be nominated for a vacant seat, but who were
not nominated by the Nominating
Committee, should contact the
Nominating Committee by December
15, 2014. The Nominating Committee
can be contacted via mail at 5034 Bobby
Hicks Highway, Gray, TN 37615. If, at the time
of the election, the number of nominees equals the
number of positions to be filled, the election will not be
conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations
from the floor. Rather, each nominee will be declared
elected by acclamation.
Nominating Committee’s Nominees to Fill Vacant Board Seats
E. Tom Page has served on the Board of Directors of ACFCU for 24 years and is a
former Vice-Chair. Mr. Page is a 36-year veteran of Domtar. He is a former National
Guardsman and is a founding member of the Kingsport Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Page has been a proud member of Bell Ridge Ruritan for 40 years and has held
multiple officer positions.
Larry Dolen has served on the Board of Directors of ACFCU for 21 years and has
held the offices of Treasurer and Secretary. Mr. Dolen has also served on the boards
of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Kingsport Hay House. Mr. Dolen is a longtime
member of Kingsport Civitan where he has held multiple officer positions.
Joe Boggs has served on the Board of Directors of ACFCU for 12 years and is
currently the Chair of the Supervisory Committee. Mr. Boggs has 35 years of
experience in the paper industry and has been the General Manager of the Domtar
Converting Center at Ridgefields for 13 years. He sits on the Church Hill Sanitation
Commission and is an active member of his church where he serves on multiple
committees.
Jack Patrick has served on the Board of Directors of ACFCU for 8 years. Mr. Patrick
is a 25-year veteran of Domtar, where he currently works as an Operations
Manager. Mr. Patrick is an active member of Vernon Heights Baptist Church where
he is a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and co-treasurer.
ACFCU Receives CDFI Certification
It is with great honor and humility that we announce the Community Development
Financial Institutions (CDFI) certification. ACFCU was recognized and received
certification earlier this year. As a CDFI, ACFCU puts the community first and values
local economic growth. CDFIs are mission driven financial institutions that are
dedicated to providing financial services to meet the needs of economically disadvantaged
individuals within underserved communities. ACFCU is certified by the U.S. Department
of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutional Fund, known as the
CDFI Fund. In order to become a certified CDFI, ACFCU had to:

FREE Tax Preparation
Tax season is right around the corner, and ACFCU is once again
sponsoring Milligan College which will provide free tax preparations for
our community. Last year this partnership was able to help over 800
members and individuals in our community who received 1.2 million
dollars in tax refunds. In 2015 ACFCU will also be working with Berea
College in Kentucky to extend this great program to more of our members and the individuals in the communities we serve. Tax
preparations will be held from February 3 -April 29, 2015 in these

In September ACFCU celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of
our Stone Drive Super Branch. To better serve our members, ACFCU joined our two
