Based in San Diego, Millie’s Gelato began in farmers markets throughout San Diego in October 2011. Before
starting Millie’s Gelato, Chef Susan Sbicca was former co-owner and executive chef of the award-winning Sbicca,
in Del Mar and the Meritage Restaurant & Bar in Encinitas. Susan committed to a plant-based diet in July 2010
to repair her health, but still longed occasionally for a bite of something indulgent. She began churning gelato
with the finest, freshest raw and vegan ingredients she could find. Millie’s gelato was born.
She set out to reimagine and redefine what vegan dessert could be, and starts every small batch by blending
the finest organic ingredients with integrity. Millie’s Gelato is 100% vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free.
