Dear Regency Place Families,
It’s hard to believe that this is the 13th annual Lion Stampede! (That’s a lot of runners AND
miles over the years!) While we continue to build on the success of past Stampedes, PTO’s goal
remains the same: provide a single fundraising school wide event that involves the entire school
community, and provides economical family entertainment. The PTO fundraising committee has
worked throughout the year to put on this event. SPECIAL THANKS TO THEM! Chairpersons

Did you know that funds earned through the Stampede stay right here at Regency Place? Last
year we were able to purchase recess equipment, assessment resources, teacher/grade level
stipends, field trips for each grade level, $$ dedicated to specialists for special activities,
software (Brain Pop for accelerated student learning), and add to the RP Capital Fund for
future needs. Students, teachers, and parents ALL had input as to how funds were spent.
We’ve been excited with how funds have enhanced our school programming in years past. RP
relies on PTO fundraising to support activities and projects that were previously covered by the
school budget.

Dear Regency Place Families,
The 13th Annual Lion Stampede is finally here!! Students have been training for the race!
Auction items have been pouring in from families! RP staff has been providing their time and
talent, and the Stampede Committee has been working hard to make this year’s “Royal Run” as
successful as possible. Teamwork and hard work…Excellent partners!
The Olathe School District pays for Regency Place facilities, maintenance, and salaries. But,
our own fundraising efforts support a majority of the “extras” that make Regency Place so
wonderful. RP counts on these fundraising efforts!
Over the years, the Lion Stampede Committee has provided hard work and exceptional
dedication that makes this event possible and successful each year. We are very thankful for the
countless hours that are given by our parents and volunteers. Your commitment to our children
and their education is extraordinary.

a huge THANK YOU! We are thankful for their support of public education, and encourage the

Rules and Guidelines
Raffle Guidelines
1. The winning tickets for the raffle merchandise (iPad, Pop a Shot, American Girl, Scooter) will be
announced during the silent auction.
2. An individual may purchase as many raffle tickets as desired. Please be sure your child’s name is written
on the ticket, tickets should then be placed in the desired Teacher Raffle Box located in the library.
3. The winning tickets for the Teacher Raffle boxes will be posted in the lobby after closing.
General Auction Guidelines
1. All bidders must check in at the registration table to receive a bid number. There will be three check-in lines
by student’s alphabetical last name. Bids will not be accepted from persons without an assigned bid number.
You are responsible for all purchases made on your bid number. Students are welcome to bid on items, but
parents must note that they will be responsible for all bids made with their bid number.
2. The auction is divided into two events: the silent auction and the live auction. The silent auction will begin at
5:00 p.m. Our master of ceremonies will announce closings as they approach. The live auction will begin
during the Silent Auction and run until all items have been auctioned.
3. All sales are final and there are no exchanges or refunds on the items sold.
4. Full payment is required for items on auction night. Cash, personal checks, and MasterCard or Visa will be
accepted for payment. Checks made payable to Regency Place PTO.
5. Items will be released only when paid receipt is exhibited to the volunteer at checkout.
6. All items purchased during the auction must be claimed and removed from the premises the evening of the
auction. Special arrangements may be made for larger items only.
7. All auction items and services must be used within one year of this evening’s auction unless otherwise
specified. Stipulations set by donors must be followed.
8. For tax or general purposes, Regency Place does not guarantee any values listed in the program. Only those
monies paid above the actual value of an item may be considered tax-deductible donations to Regency Place.
All merchandise is sold “as is.”
9. Auction purchases must be paid for at the cashier’s table located at checkout. Checkout is located in the third
grade pod.
Silent Auction Guidelines
1. There is a bid sheet for each item. The bid sheet identifies the item by name and number. Bidders must write
their bid number adjacent to the bid amount they wish to bid.
2. Bids must be raised by the minimum increment indicated on the bid sheet in order to qualify as valid bids.
3. No bids shall be received after a table is closed.
4. Items will be awarded to the bidder with the highest valid bid for that item at the closing time of a table.
Auctioneer reserves the right to live auction any item “on the spot” between two or more interested parties to
avoid confrontation.
5. Auction items and bid sheets shall remain at the table. They shall NOT be removed by anyone other than the
designated volunteer.
6. A volunteer at table closing will circle the highest bid. The volunteer will take the two top parts of the bid
sheet to the cashier at Checkout. The pink part of the bid sheet will remain on the table so that you can return

to see if you have a winning bid. All winners should proceed to the cashier’s table (3 grade pod) when they
are ready to leave for the evening. At checkout, you pay and retrieve auction items.
Live Auction Guidelines
1. The live auction will be running during parts of the Silent Auction and continue without interruption until all
items have been auctioned. The order of sale is at the discretion of the auctioneer and may change the night
of the event. All announcements made that night will override those noted in the program.
2. The Auctioneer shall act as final authority on all sales in the live auction.

KIDS’ Corner
Kids Corner will be located outside the Flex Space and playground (blacktop). Purchase allaccess wristband to play as much as you want or individual tickets.
All children must be supervised by an Adult. Please do not leave your young
children unattended in the Kids Corner.
Lots of fun games including a petting zoo, hair spray booth, cake walk, bean bag toss and hula
hoop toss and MORE!
Older students who no longer attend RP are welcome if accompanied by their families, and will
be held to the same behavior expectations as our RP elementary students.

Parking
For the SAFETY of all race participants, ALL Regency Place parking lots will be closed to
parking from 5:00-6:15. You may park in the RP parking lot if you arrive prior to 5:00 and
plan to stay until 6:15! You may also park on a side street that is NOT on the race route (see
map on following page). We strongly urge families to park at California Trail Middle School
and walk to Regency Place. We also encourage all those that are able to please walk to the
event. Please abide by the No Parking Signs for the safety of the runners! The Police
Department will be on site to offer assistance and insure the safety of all race participants.
Race – 5:30 (Lining up in front of RP @ 5:15)
The race will begin at 5:30 p.m., RAIN or SHINE. Please begin lining up 15 minutes prior to
the start of the race right in front of school. Look for the sign that identifies your grade level
line-up spot. Practice safety! You may want to carry a water bottle throughout the race.
There will be two running options, a one mile or two mile race. Look for the directions
throughout the race. Olathe Police officers will be leading runners and assisting at major
intersections.

Race Route
The race start lines will be in the parking lot in front of Regency Place. We will line up 5th graders at
the front, followed by 4th graders and so on. We are changing our normal start position to avoid the
traffic on 133rd Street and to keep our students safe!
